    This discussion of spirits, liminal spaces, and energies has made me realize why so many hotels get the "haunted" label-- they are a liminal space, a space of travelers. They collect energies of these random people's lives. Great talk!

    55:29 Too funny😂😂😂...I swear and joke about something using me as comic relief...Soooo many times in my life I end up saying, "Really? But Really"? Then I end up seeing how funny it actually is or was. For example, I searched everywhere for a certain cord for over two years for an old laptop because I wanted to download some old photos. I KNEW I didn't throw it away. I finally broke down and bought a new cord. The literal day after I received the cord...I walked into the garage...the old cord was sitting on top of the workbench.😂😂😂

The first encounter was at 9 years old then at 17 - 22 which a spirit followed me and haunted my home made lots of noise, turned on the faucets etc. It was very weird for me. When my mom died she came to visit me I could feel her presence for a few years after her death. I kept asking her questions until i finally got the correct one. Have had several other strange encounters too.

    A question after listening to your video on spiritual tourism, seeing your coven and and a few other interviews, I came up with the question....what are the .ain components to a healthy robust spiritual practice? Almost like nutrition, how does one know they are practicing in well-balanced way? Is there a way to do so that one combines themselves? How does one know that given spiritual paths are complete enough? Do we all need to same components to be complete?

    Going through Lithuania and on our way up to the Cemetery where Patton is buried at the hills are full of spirits of where the soldiers died I could hear their cries and moans while on our way up there that tears were flowing down my face from it, it made me so sad from the heavy feeling and the sounds that I could not go on the tour of the cemetery because of the heaviness in my heart and needed to compose myself. Really interesting story about your poltergeist experience, Ivy. Have you looked much into the idea of the fetch, largely from traditional witchcraft currents. It sounds very similar to what you are describing and I wonder if poltergeists and fetches are pretty much the same thing, just with the fetch being more intentionally split off by a typically older adult person, where a poltergeist is usually unintentionally split off by a younger person.

    • @IvyTheOccultist
      @IvyTheOccultist  6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      That is such an interesting concept! I did wonder if it was some sort of "familiar" spirit at one point. I am loosely acquainted with the term "fetch" so I can definitely see what you mean! I do agree that they seem to have similarities. And I like the idea of the fetch being created intentionally whereas the poltergeist is not. Though, I can't speak on fetches too much. Thank you for sharing that correlation!

    Just getting through the poltergeist discussion -BUT- when ya'll spoke of how they may be a split of the psyche it kind of reminded me of Servitors in a way, and I wonder if maybe poltergeist energy can't be turned into a Servitor, perhaps to help overcome any specific trauma, idk, just ramblings. I love these chat-based videos, thanks Ivy!

    • @IvyTheOccultist
      @IvyTheOccultist  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      That's an interesting thought! I think because poltergeists are potentially an unintentional split in the psyche, they're a little unpredictable and uncontrollable. Idk how efficient they would be as a servitor. If anything, poltergeists feel more like a tulpa because they seem to have their own autonomy and consciousness. Servitors are much more simple and don't have independence quite like that. But I'd love to hear someone else's experiments! 😆

    It's interesting how you talked about energy thst was stuck. I had an experience which produced possible drug psychosis but I think there is more to that story I lack evidence for so take it with a grain of salt. But one day I thought another witch was playing around in my head and I thought they had fucked around and found out and were transformed into an energy form which I was amped to reverse. I this particular day I heard in my head that there was a lot of hate in this house. Ad I also found it intriguing because on this particular day that cleaning things that on rare occasions I've seen cleaned. And when I attempted to help these energy form they turned into these "dust bunnies" made up of hateful phrases and awful things. They disipated quick aftermy clapbacks. But they had there own separate forms. Like I know 3 left the room and 1 stayed in the room and I knocked one out of the house before I realized they were just gonna be mean, by accident. It could've been a hateful psychic doing a Dust bunny spell (I know it runs in the fam now), it could have been energy built up overtime or maybe it could be contributed to psychosis. But the story goes on to "the story of that tuesday" which I'll only tell one other person ever. But I thought it was interesting how yall explained the store energy like that becausethsts the vibe I get looking back on that

      While I am very much honored, I don't particularly think of myself as an expert when it comes to the fae! 😆 I know enough to hold a conversation, form my own opinions, etc. But when it comes to teaching others and asserting myself as an authority figure on the subject, I think that would be overzealous for me to do. For example, the concept of different fae creatures are heavily based on folklore of specific regions. And the folklore varies so much from culture to culture! I wouldn't feel right educating people on various folklore sources from cultures that I myself am not even a part of. I hope that makes sense! I am very appreciative though that you think I might credible enough to teach such a subject. 🙌♥️♥️ Maybe one day!

    OK, in reverse order halfway through:
    There are lots of Krampus activities in Chicago, but I never go to any of them. You could, though, some sound fun. The answer to why not go to some of these Chicago events has ties to the "is Krampus sexy" question: essentially, you see videos from some small Austrian village high up in the mountains and the guys in these shaggy suits are fit as hell and they're having a great time - that swagger is sexy. It's sexy for a very human reason, though. The Krampus fans in the US seem to get this all twisted. I'm not into the version on offer. More than anything, this is a legend about a dude who finds out you've been naughty and carries you off to *eat* you. Welp... Change the tone and suddenly the joke's on you, St Nick: I'm into that. So were generations of alpine moms once the kids were in bed, probably.
    So that's number 1.
    Going back to the Fae convo: my grandmother, who loved me and my brother, and I loved her dearly - yeah, that woman terrified me with stories about the Little People and what they'd do if I was bad. Changelings, imprisonment, eternal punishment - these tales had all the hits. For years I superstitiously whispered bad words or mean statements. (I still said them if I was very angry or thought they were accurate, I just said them quietly... sooooo, did that work? Did it make me nicer or just sneakier as a kid?) As I grew up I started to notice that not only was I having nightmares about them on the regular, but my brother had developed a weird habit of laughing uncontrollably whenever he saw someone of that description. So did my mother. I pointed this out to my grandmother, and she admitted she hated those stories growing up, they'd terrified her, too, and quite frankly she'd decided never to tell us those tales except we were really bad (truth) and she knew it would work, so in desperation she reached for the nuclear "Fae" option.
    I now have friends who work with the Fae and they're horrified by what portions I've told them - I usually have to stop because it's more than they want to hear. (Kind of like this comment.) To sum up: the links between the legends of the Fae, the Krampus, and parents who'll say anything to get the kids to behave are not seriously supernatural, just run of the mill bad/desperate parenting, and I see that now which is why I've changed my attitude towards discussions of the Fae. Whether we're talking kobolds or house spirits or plant spirits or any being on whatever plane, I just want to be respectful and get along nicely. Those authoritative and detailed stories terrified me as a kid. The really scary part of being an adult is how much you just don't know.
    But I'm enjoying this conversation, so thanks for sharing it.
