The egg crate grille, and the same egg crate design carried over to the dash center, is so elegant.
And the Art Deco design of the full dash, is quite stunning!

Yes. Definitely pure class, a product of fine automotive craftsmanship now gone.

This model is as close as you can get to a rolling work of art. Absolutely amazing! One could spend days viewing all the minute details. I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again; even the details have details. Someone just stated that this car was ahead of its time, and how true that is! Thanks Lou, Claude, and the assistant for a beautiful presentation!!

Chrysler was a leader when it came to engineering. Too bad that profits became the MO for most car makers. I'm sure Lou won't have many classic 2021 vehicles to show in 73 years time! You'll still be doing your videos then, won't you Lou? 😄

What a beautiful piece of jewelry!!!
I hope I'm not alone in thinking that the early post war cars had the most character and bling. This is a far cry from the T/C minivans of the 80s.

Wow what a car! Loved the color so rich and perfect looking with the wood trim. The Town and Country Chrysler used for a very long time through the years of their cars. This car is just a huge piece of automotive history. Loved that old straight eight engine boy it sure sounded good. And that interior was just superb in this car with the crystal knobs and such. So much early innovation in this vehicle. Boy what a car and I bet it rode nice and heavy and smooth. Just a outstanding unit all the way around and a great owner too! Thanks Lou for bringing it to us to see!

Lot of wonderful Details, and history, and options ( blinking Emergencey,Conveetible,etc.).....I suspicion lots of details : engine history & style, Transmission and running gear, convertible, wood build, etc) are really interesting and sort of,”historic”....; interestingly , the Chrysler is a YEAR or so younger than me....!

    Wow! Another wonderful segment Lou!
When people think of classic Chryslers, they often think of the Town and Country (and the Airflow).
You do a great job of presenting such a variety of cars, from different eras.
I actually saw a 1978 Chrysler Town and Country wagon on the road last Fall, the version that was based upon the Aspen/Volare,
and the faux wood panelling truly looks so out-of-place among modern cars!

Hi, Lou! This has to be one of the most perfect examples from an era of a long-lost craft. It's absolutely exquisite with the Scotch plaid interior and all the original woodwork. The Town & Country name went on to grace some of the most luxurious station wagons, and later minivans, in the industry. (It was a wagon in 1941 and 1942 and would be again starting in 1950.) And look how long it took the rest of the industry to see what smart ideas the dash-controlled gas cap opener and the center stop light at the rear were. The feds began requiring the stop lights with the 1986 model year.
This one's at home anywhere, in town, country or city! Many thanks to you and Claude for spotlighting this extra-special automobile.

Loved this one Lou! '30's-'40's art-deco cars will always be tops with me. Beautiful car. These were often shown pictured with the affluent at their country estates. I think those clear knobs are DuPont Lucite. Crystal makes them sound like they're made of glass, but they're clear plastic. And they're beautiful to see. Thanks, Lou, for showing this car. My landlady in college once owned a 1946 T&C Convertible and she would talk about it. Her husband traded it in on a new white 1957 Chrysler 300C. They owned some really special cars.

I believe that was the last year for real teak, oak and ash wood being used on the TC. These cars were the flagship of Chrysler of that time, ment to rival anything GM and Ford put out. Other than the Imperial, they were the most expensive Chrysler you could get. The interiors came in that color as well as red plaid. Hot Rodders in the early 50s used this engine in modified street cars because it made great torque at super low rpm. This is a real time capsule!

Lou, I do enjoy your videos becasue you and your friends pick some great models to feature and you spend the right length of time clearly showing the minute details on video. However, I must be watching them out of order and hope you are learning and retaining the knowledge as you go. Your friend with the Sedanette Caddy taught you about the difference between the firewall tags that match the engine block that were also used to title the cars back then (like they use modern VINs now). The 1940's body tags tell you other info like interior and exterior colors and style/models. The serial numbers in the door frames do not match the engine block numbers in these 40's cars and you got real quiet while narrating your video saying that they would match on this Chrysler - and then they didn't (kinda funny). But hopefully you are learning these things as you go and we know you probably saw that they should match on a later model car that has a VIN tag so I won't hold it against you! Let the owners do the numbers decoding for you. Great channel. Keep it up and help others appreciate these works of rolling art from another era.
