You would be 100% better off with a stone cooking surface than metal. And cook the pizza directly on the stone. The concept is ingenious and I bet with a stone surface you would be getting super authentic wood fired pizzas. The legendary pizza places in New Haven cook directly on bluestone or soapstone. So you can get one and cut to size cheap and your results will be far, far better.
Thank you for your input, your the second person to mention a stone, will definitely look into this, I want to have it that I cook only with wood, wood smoker , BBQ, and pizza. Thanks again Paul👍🚜
You could use any type of stone in the sense. It’s just those types have a less chance of cracking from the temperature. I would try some of those 24 x 24 pavers for a few bucks and see how they would do.. soap stone can be expensive
@@Budvb yes since a couple of people suggested the stone I’ve been looking, definitely got to improve this, I think I’m on too something that’s cheaper and has more use, thanks for watching and your input, 👍🚜
How's she goin'? This is a neat project Len. Your imagination was on overtime for this one eh!! It turned out pretty nice and I bet the pizza tasted great!! Well done. Take care!!
Definitely a thunbs up. It's hard to cook a pizza on one of these. It's even harder to build one and have a successful oven. You did both, great job.
Thanks Kenny, still needs some attention but I think it going to work, now Len’s keeping busy better get more wood lol may be using it a lot, 🚜👍
Morning Len , nice build and the pizza looked good . Thanks for sharing my friend . 👍🏻🍕
Thanks Del, there’s a few more things to do with it but I think it’s going to work out ok, later Del 👍🚜

Looks great Len. Maybe a pizza stone in there would be good. With the one inch gap.
