Great ride and great points on gear. Thank you for sharing your ride! I’m also trying ride lighter for day and overnights. (Opposite of campfire wood, where you need 3x what you thought). On tires, I err on Murphy’s law, I’ve used Kenda 760 track masters or D606 on the rear and a Pirelli MT 21 on the front or my WR250r. Not a great pavement set up, but your logic really comes home in the woods, when it’s raining, cold, it’s late and the trail is worse than expected, the Kenda has literally saved me multiple times.
Out here in Arizona we have killer bees you have to watch out for. Not easy to get away from. They are relentless. Even if you have water to jump into they will wait for you to come up and attack again and again. Great to see your videos. I too have a 250 Rally and am loving it. My weight is up there too but have been doing fine with the stock setup. I haven’t really packed it down much. Just one day rides, no camping yet. Having been an ATV/UTV enthusiast making the change to a dual sport has been a fresh new experience. Happy Trails!
Great video! Been watching several of your 250 Rally videos. You make me want to head out to a state park for a weekend trip. Keep posting great videos.
I got my Rally 4 months ago. Pretty impressed so far. Been tent camping for years. May do a bike camp soon. Found a 21v hand held chain saw on Amazon. Solves the fire wood problem The self inflating camp pads dont work for me.Too hard you'll never sleep well on the ground in a tent unless you are a smaller person like 120 lbs. Im 250lbs. Get a double high or single high air bed with a big oversized valve for quick inflate and deflate and rechargeable 12v pump. The Coleman hand held rechargeable pumps will inflate and deflate so you can vaccum down the air bed for tight packing.. The trick is not to inflate the bed firm. Have it just a little saggy so you sink in an inch or two. Very comfy! Best way to sleep if you can carry. My opinion. Like the videos. Thanks. Maybe ill make one soon when I do my first Rally camp Its always about comfort for me. If you cant sleep well while camping it sucks!!
I currently have a Yamaha tw200, and while i love that little bike, i think im a bit too big for it at 6', 275 so i think my next purchase will be the crf250l rally. really digging your videos so far.
Great hill climbs and trail rides! What kind of drone do you use? We haven't camped overnight with a hammock before but have watched lots of reviews. Interesting to hear your thoughts on comfort between that and a tent and yes, it's harder to keep track of things you put "beside" you at night! In our experience with wild/remote camping, there have been many occasions where we see/hear raccoons, squirrels, mice and other unknown critters around our tent at night...One thought that is comforting to us in our tent (vs a hammock) is that at least all those little critters can't get to us from underneath, like a hanging piñata LOL. (decent amount of bears, wolves, coyotes... where we live) Another great video! *T4S* cheers
Thinking that little critters can't get underneath a tent is a mistake! I have had mice ruin a tent by getting underneath it and chewing holes in the floor while I was in it! I didn't have the heart to stomp on him because he was probably the only living creature on the island where I was camping. It was his island, and my tent ended up in the trash. I love the hammock for comfort. I've never slept better while camping. I'll use it every chance I get. Cold weather camping? It's a little too difficult to manage. Summer camping? I'll only use a tent if I absolutely have no other choice.
Interesting point about the breeze affecting the temperature. Wouldn't have thought of that.

Maybe hold out for the 2021 CRF300 Rally if it makes it to your shores?

Right now, I have a DJI Mavic air. And I love it.
Just wondering what tires are you using. Looked like a great trip, thanks for sharing. Good luck with the hammock and getting it set up right.
Are those Acerbis handguards? or another brand?
What bikes are yall riding
On this trip we had a KLR 650, a DR 650, and a CRF 250 Rally.
I would leave the Cursing guy at home next trip. His mouth is horrible.
