This was actually really interesting to watch, coz my parents literally TAUGHT eachother their respective languages, _while dating._ They didn't work together or have to be around eachother at all. Somehow they just met at random, and knew they had chemistry immediately. Ultimately it _was_ cultural differences that did end their relationship though. Swedish women tend to be independent and self reliant, where Mexican men tend to lean very traditional conservative. They were basically destined to hit a wall. But to this day, it's obvious they still have a unique chemistry that wasn't just physical attraction. Though they'd definitely both deny it lol.

More than annoying, I think its quite sad to see a pattern where in a lot of media Bangla-speaking people, both Bangladeshis and from West Bengal, have a representation of "we dont speak the language very well though" and this is ofc in Western media. It's been a long ride with the Button series, it had its ups, it had its downs, it broke our hearts and made us laugh, but damn, this episode was simply the best for how polite and sweet the people were.
As someone from Germany I am still confused be the guy that spoke German. It sounds like English is ihs second language because he calls people "sie" (which is normally only used for teachers or adults you don't know, but I have never heared it of people dating or younger people in such a situation) and seems to have a tiny bit of an accent, but his pronunciation, volume and speed is flawless. I feel like he could be anything from an exchange student from Germany, kid of a German speaker, someone that just learned the language and everyone time I remember this episode I just want to know the story XD
if they are a child of immigrants it makes sense to be able to speak the language mostly like a native speaker with some mild errors. A child of immigrants probably speaks their parents' native language to only/mostly adult family members and teachers if they attended a language program, which may be why they are used to referring to people formally.
I just wanna say, I personally thought it was genius how Cody was able to setup jokes that used his house music as the punchline was absolutely genius and has intrigued me into checking out his music. Genius Promo.
It's useful to remember that standards are different in every culture, and so are the people. Things that seem odd to you are not necessarily things that they are doing 'wrong'. This is useful for all of life
I would honestly recommend for people to go out on a date with someone of a different background. Like not searching out people by nationality, that would be weird, but definitely be open to it! It's such a unique and fun way to get to know a different culture even if you aren't looking for something serious.
This video made me feel good about retaining toddler level Spanish from high school. I was like “wait, I know what they’re saying? Fuck you, Spanish teacher. I’m smart after all.”

I would honestly recommend for people to go out on a date with someone of a different background. Like not searching out people by nationality, that would be weird, but definitely be open to it! It's such a unique and fun way to get to know a different culture even if you aren't looking for something serious.
