Jesus delivered us from ourselves. We should set our mind on things of the Spirit to empower our lives. We suffer but in the end we get the glory. God prays for us and he glorifies himself but keeps us close. Before we where formed in our mothers wombs he knew us. I’m so excited I can’t wait to receive my inheritance. He is so merciful and kind. I want to shout it to anyone who will listen. He is definitely where the joy is. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🫶🏽
The gospel message is this, that "if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10: 9 ESV). And, this message is for anyone who is willing to believe, Jew and Gentile! What an amazing gift! There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (8: 1). And, there is nothing that can separate us from the love of God through Christ Jesus our Lord (8: 38-39). Praise His holy name! Lord, help us to share the good news to those around us 🙏🏽.
Be careful thinking you yourself choose Christ. We are dead in trespasses and sin. Dead men can do nothing, except stink. He must give us a new heart, faith to believe. He makes us alive, eyes to see, ears to hear. Doth not the potter have power over the clay… he is the potter, we are the clay. Clay can only lay on the table. THE POTTER makes us and molds us into what He will. Praise God He chooses us!
@@Glndarod9641yes! The awesome thing is He has chosen every person! He has provided his salvation to all people. But, He’s decided that one must access the grace by faith (Romans 5:1-2) We can rest in knowing He’s already extended his grace to all people when he demonstrated his love to humanity on the cross, so all have been invited, anyone who wishes can come! “Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life” ❤

The majesty of God is so evident throughout this powerful book. Everything is all about God. Only He could pull us to Him in spite of our sin. Nothing can ever separate us from His love.
God’s wonderful gift of salvation is for everyone who believes it and receives it. We see this in verses like Romans 10 : 11 and 10:13 as well as 2 Peter 3:9. There are no individuals who are predestined not to be saved. Scripture never contradicts itself. The best way that I’ve heard this explained is that Romans chapter nine has to do with Israel as a nation in the past, Romans, chapter 10 is representing Israel’s present, and Romans chapter 11 is representing Israel’s future. Chapter 9 is referring to the election of Israel as a nation, not election of individuals to salvation. Chapter 10:3-4 shows how they are trying to be righteous by their own works instead of by faith in Jesus. God refers to Israel as his firstborn but like Ishmael and Esau they didn’t receive the promise. We the Gentiles did, hallelujah!! (See Romans11:11. ) Romans11:26 tells the future of Israel…they will be saved when they receive the gospel of Jesus Christ.
John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Last year my husband and I had the privilege of going to Israel. We saw first hand what Romans 9 talks about. It was so sad to see. I pray that God will open their eyes to the truth. 🙏🛐✝️ Romans 9:31-33 ESV [31] but that Israel who pursued a law that would lead to righteousness did not succeed in reaching that law. [32] Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were based on works. They have stumbled over the stumbling stone, [33] as it is written, “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense; and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”
There are more favorite, familiar verses and some again that I have memorized in these chapters. A different one that stood out today is Romans 8:6, "The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace." I can also relate to Paul when he says in Romans 10:1 that his heart's desire and prayer is for his people to be saved. I feel the same and pray for the salvation of my family and friends. 🙏🏽
I wish I knew how to witness to my Jewish friends who don't know Jesus. Well, predestination crops up again in Rm. 8:29-30. I wish we had delved into that some. This always leaves me with questions.
Romans 8:1 NLT [1] So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. [28] And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. [31] What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Romans 10:9-10 NLT [9] If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. [10] For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
Romans 9:10-12 hit me today. So why did God choose Jacob over Essau, before either of them had done anything? Through the act of childbirth Essau was the firstborn. But it is not by man’s actions that we are saved. Even in this God shows His sovereignty and ultimately His grace to us. ”And not only so, but also when Rebekah had conceived children by one man, our forefather Isaac, though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad-in order that God’s purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of him who calls- she was told, “The older will serve the younger.”“
Yes - and this “election” was to service - one brother had to be chosen over another to carry the bloodline of Messiah. Paul mentioning that this election happened they hadn’t done anything good or bad is simply showing that no one can earn God’s favor by doing works. It’s all by faith Many confuse this election to mean salvation for individual Gentiles like us, then they create a slew of destructive doctrines because of it 😢
This is “tough to stomach” simply because it’s not true! We can be absolutely sure God has LOVED and PROVIDED for every single person He has ever created, by grace through faith. The salvation is the gift, but it must be accessed by faith (Romans 5:1-2) God did NOT “predestine us to be his kids” and other people not to be his kids. This is an Augustinian understanding of predestination unto individual salvation, which is is not a Biblical concept. As for the pottery and clay analogies, please look into how pottery is made. The fact in real life, the clay must work WITH the potter, allowing itself to be molded. If it doesn’t, it has become marred and the potter has to start over and make something different and it’s the fault of the clay, not the potter. Jeremiah 18:4 says that the CLAY was spoiled in the potter’s hand, so he reworked it into another vessel. The clay prepares itself for honor or destruction. The potter responds to how the clay has responded (in belief or unbelief-in faith or rejection- in obedience or disobedience.) in the New Testament, consider 2 Timothy 2:20-21. In this passage there are also these vessels for honorable and dishonorable use. But it says If someone “cleanses himself” of such behavior, he will be a vessel of honor- set apart-useful to the master- prepared for every good work. God has provided and expects each person to respond positively by accepting the gift- placing their trust in His salvation. He has not pre-ordained your response because He didn’t love you or didn’t provide for you before the foundation of the world. He did NOT create anyone for destruction in order to display his glory. The only ones who are destroyed are those who willingly reject His provision. He loves and has provided for you and every person who has ever lived or will ever live. In His Sovereignty, this is what he has decided to do. No effort on the part of anyone or anything can thwart his purposes. Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Thank you! I was going to share the 2 Timothy 2:20-21 passage as well. I am of the opinion that predestination - as Calvin taught it - is not a biblical concept. Nevertheless, it is foundational to many a Christian's faith and therefore takes much effort to address. I love you all, my brothers and sisters in Christ, and I pray that we will stay united and continue to love one another! 😊
@@thatMimosaGroveit does take a lot of effort to correct but I do think it’s worth it. I hope one day Christians will realize they shouldn’t believe this false idea and know they can honestly, confidently genuinely share with everyone that God really does love them and has provided for them.
God knew before the foundation of the world who would serve Him and who would not. He did not pre-ordain some for heaven and some for hell. We have free wills and choose to serve God or not to serve Him and He gets all the glory! I like this anology: Jesus is on a ship and humanity is in the sea. Jesus throws out life preservers and some gratefully grab on to the life preserver but many do not because they think they can get to the ship on their own. Those who grabbed onto the life preservers are saved and those who did not drown. A reporter asks those who were saved how they were rescued. They all point to the Savior who provided the way of escape! He gets all the glory! You can't boast in yourself because you took hold of the life preserver! That would be ridiculous! Jacob have I loved Esau have I hated. We can’t take verses out of context. First of all this is a quote from Malachi about the nations, not individuals. Paul wasn’t using it in some brand new way and out of context, he was using it the same way it was meant- just like he always does with all his Old Testament quotes. Secondly, hated doesn’t even mean “sent to hell”. Hate simply means the same thing here as it does in Luke 4:26. It’s the same Greek word. Hate just simply means “prefer less” in both these contexts. It doesn’t mean he didn’t like Esau the person, even if you try to make Esau the person and not the nation here. Reread the story of Genesis- Esau still got a blessing. Not only that but he was kind to Jacob after getting over being angry and Jacob said that seeing him was like seeing the face of God. To read the story like you are reading it you have Paul misusing the Old Testament out of context and I don’t think that’s a good case to make.
