Thanks for a great video tour of Bluebell Railway! I'm also happy to see Clive Groome and one of his daughters, Rebecca (I think) in the video. I use to watch their DVD set 'Driving & Firing Steam Locomotives' over and over again :)
Moleman978, I was there that day with my uncle and I was like who is that person? And I was like oh my god! That's Moleman978! PS I love your train simulator videos!🐙. ☕would you like a cup of tea?
Looks like you had a superb visit to the line! I must visit again at some point too! So many amazing locos there! And how well keep every thing is! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed your visit to The Bluebell, this is how 'The Southern' used to be, and I wish it still was! All the folks at The Bluebell do a wonderful job and need all the support they can get, come back soon Will!
Thanks for posting this...I'm so glad you enjoyed your day at the Bluebell...Sadly I can no longer visit very often but it's one of my favourite places too...for many of the reasons you quote, but also familiarity from a very young age... My Dad and Uncle were Southern and later BR (S) staff, and my grandad was LBSCR before WW1...I was introduced to the Bluebell as a five year old back in 1958...and though I can't get there often, I really love the place...I suppose it's in the blood (though they'd all turn in their graves 'cos I've spent the last 40 years working for an offshoot of the local bus company!). Talk about a black sheep... All the best Dave
I needed to know why they don’t dig a tunnel and do an extension for the main line Train so that they can extend the unused abandoned underground train stations. Why couldn’t they use the part D78 Stock train doors on the sides and also restructure the front face of the A60 and A62 stock and that includes the class 313, class 314 and class 315 remix and make them all together and also redesign them an overhead line and also make them into Five cars per units and also having three Disabled Toilets on those Five cars per units A60 and A62 stock trains and also convert the A60 and A62 stock trains into a Scania N112, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Gardner 6LXC and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Engines and also put the Loud 7-Speed Voith Gearboxes even Loud 8-Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Gearboxes in the A60 and A62 stock, class 313, class 314, and class 315 and also modernise the A60 and A62 stock and make it into an 11 car per unit so it could have fewer doors, more tables, computers and mobile phone chargers. A Stock Trains and also having 8 Disabled Toilets on those A stock trains. why couldn’t we refurbish and modernise the Waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel and make it more Larger and extend it to the bank station, making it into a Triple-Track Railway Line so those Five countries such as Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden to convert the waterloo and city line Triple-Track Railway tunnel into a High-Speed Railway lines? The Third Euro tunnel Triple-Track Railway line to make it 11 times better for passengers so they could go from A to B. Then put the modernised 11 car per unit A Stock and put them on a bigger modernised Waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel so it could go to bank station to those Five countries such as Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. The modernised refurbished 11 cars per unit A stock could be a High Speed The Third Triple-Track Euro Tunnel Train So it is promising and 47 times a lot more possible to do this kind of project if that will be OK for London Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. oh by the way, could they also tunnel the Triple-Track Railway Line so it will stop from Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex so that the Passengers will go to Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland and Sweden and also extend the Triple-Track Railway Line from the Bank to Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex Stations so that more people from there could go to Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden more Easily. Why couldn't they extend the Piccadilly Line and also build brand-new underground train stations so it could go even further right up to Clapton, Wood Street can they also make another brand new underground train station in Chingford and could they extend the Piccadilly Line and the DLR right up to Chingford? All of the classes 150, 155, 154, 117, 114, 105, and 106, will be replaced by all of the Scania N112, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Gardner 6LXC and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Five carriages three disabled toilets are air conditioning trains including Highams Park for extended roots which is the Piccadilly line and the DLR trains. Could you also convert all of the 1973 stock trains into an air-conditioned maximum speed 78 km/hours (48 MPH) re-refurbished and make it into a 8 cars per unit if that will be alright, and also extend all of the Piccadilly train stations to make more space for all of the extended 8 car per unit 1973 stock air condition trains and can you also build another Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive Companies and can they order Every 37 Octagon and Every 17 Hexagon shape LNER diagram unique small no.13 and unique small no.11 Boilers from those Countries such as Greece, Italy, Poland, and Sweden, can they make Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive speeds by up to 142MPH so you can try and test it on the Original Mainline so it will be much more safer for the Passengers to enjoy the 142MPH speed Limit only for HS2 and Channel Tunnel mainline services, if they needed 16 Carriages Per units, can they use those class 55’s, class 44’s, class 40’s and class 43HST Diesel Locomotive’s right at the Back of those 18 Carriages Per Units so they can take over at the Back to let those Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive’s have a rest for those interesting Journeys Please!!!!!, oh can you make all of those Coal Boxes’s 17 Tonnes for all of those 142MPH Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive’s so the Companies will Understand us PASSENGER’S!! so please make sure that the Builders can do as they are told!!!!! And please do something about these very very important Professional ideas Please? Prime Minister of England, Prime Minister of Australia, Prime Minister of Sweden, Prime Minister of Germany, Prime Minister of Italy, Prime Minister of Poland and that Includes the Mayor of London.
Nice You obviously chose one of the few non-rainy days that the South-East has had in the last few months!!!! I live less than 2 hours away from the Bluebell Line, so I might try to visit it this year.
I have ridden behind L.150 on the Epping Ongar Railway in London in real 150 year old Metropolitan coaches. It was very cool, Bachmann has made a model of her
Great video Will. The driver you saw getting off engine number 263 is Clive Groome and one of his daughters was with him. I seen him on a DVD showing how to fire and drive an engine. I recommend checking it out. He's a fascinating character, and both his daughter are drivers also.
Awesome video :) really love visiting the Bluebell. The guy around the 26min mark talking to the woman in the cab is Clive Groome (he is talking to I believe one of his daughters) and he worked on all of the big 4 railway companies. When I turned 18 (5 years ago this year) he taught me how to drive a small terrier under named "Martello", such a nice man and a really amazing experience.
InterCity82 . Without a doubt :) he features on 2 DVDs I have, one is about his experiences on the railways in each region and another is about firing & driving a loco, recommend it them highly :)
Well worth a visit best time to go is in the summer more steam on and gift shops and plenty of stops to and to look around I've been a few times and planning a visit again soon
Excellent video. Easily my favorite heritage railway as well. I can't wait to the Bluebell railway in September! I've always wanted to visit and ride a British steam train.
Fantastic video, L150 that was the underground train the run on I think the metro line on the anniversary of London Underground late last year early this.
Nice video Will. I will definitely have to make a video when all the streamlined diesels make their way to Spencer so you can see all the cool locomotives.
Amongst loads of others I've been to the Bluebell a couple of times and the Mid Hants a few more. I like the SVR for their October diesel gala (and have booked already for 2014). I know diesels aren't for everyone but for me the balance is tipped for them over steam.
No preserved railway can easily outdo the Severn Valley Railway, which will always be my favourite. After my Dad committed suicide, his ashes were scattered along the SVR, and the preserved railway itself has much better scenery than the Bluebell Railway. On either side of the SVR, you get flat-out views stretching for miles of open scenery. Between Bewdley Station and Foley Park Tunnel, along part of the 16-mile route, you get two views of the West Midland Safari Park. Something the Bluebell Railway can never offer to you. Take another ride along the SVR, and you'll see what I mean. By the way, this video is far better than any of the other preserved railway visits I've seen so far. You don't narrate in any scene, and that's what I like best. A visit preserved railway video without narration. Keep other visit preserved railway videos the same, and you'll get a smile from me.
I could almost smell old grease and old timbers in the engine barn there. I'm going to have to get my tablet down to the Oregon Rail Heritage Center here when all the engines are home and take a tour for you. I haven't made a video with the tablet yet but I'd like to try and that will be a great excuse.
don't get me started i spent many a happy saturday working here I left a while back as I have moved out of the area Thank You so much for reminding me of those happy days the 3 stations represent 3 phases of the lines existence Sheffield park is how the station was built when the line first opened Horsted Keynes represents between the 2 world wars but most say just after grouping and Kingscote was how the stations along the line might have looked in the 1950's will shut up now
G'day - 1st class video especially for modellers. Appreciate the C&W shed + labeled timbers, Clive Groom & daughter at end on loco duties and the overal ambience of the BBR. Thanks a million from ;down-under; Happydaze Jon :) 02APRIL.2014
nice video. Bluebell has never been my favourite railway. if you want a truly great railway visit Welshpool and Llanfair. great stock, great country side, nice people and best of all the balconies on the coaches that allow you to get close up with the engine especially when running cab first! and the engines are amazing too!
Hi dude. I love ur videos and I was wondering if you would visit the mid hangs steam railway in Hampshire sometime. It is a wonderful mix between Classic Steam Engines and the beautiful British countryside. Just a thought.... p.s thanks for this vid, I am going to visit there soon so it's nice to get an preview.. Thanks again Joe B
Thankyou Will..... I love this video since I cannot travel videos like this let me see some of your beautiful country plus enjoy a passion of mine watching and listening to steam trains. I just wish I could also enjoy the smell of burning coal, steam and oils.
at 19:39 that's a rail excavator it's used for leveling gravel and moving track my dad own one on tracks and i'm allowed to drive it. it's the same controls just the forward and backwards are different google it hehe
oh, I wish I could go, but... well, I live in America and would take so much money to get to the UK, AND, even MORE money so I could spend it on souvenirs! *sigh* Give it time, give it time...
I do trust you, and eventually I'll get out to Europe... In my high school, we have something called "Venture Crew" and they go all over... it's for grades 9-12, so I can join, and they've been all over Europe, places like Germany, the UK, this year they're going to go to Belgium and France, or so I've heard... so, hopefully, I will get to the UK soonish... until then, I must bid the adieu... Yours Truly, ~ToonLink682
Another brilliant IC82 On Tour Video InterCity82 . Well done. I am looking forward to watching the next IC82 On Tour Video. Also, watching this Video really makes me want to visit the Bluebell Railway again. I have been there for quite a few years. Also, out of interest did you see any Gift Shops at the Bluebell Railway that was selling any Model Railway products InterCity82 .? Also, InterCity82 ., if you are looking for another Heritage Railway in United Kingdom to visit and to film for another IC82 On Tour Video, I recommend that you visit the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. This is a brilliant Heritage Railway. Here is the website for it: www.gwsr.com/. I hope you enjoy this Heritage Railway if you ever go in the future InterCity82 .!
Wow. What a comment. There were shops there and I did buy a few souvenirs but nothing major. I'm sure I'll get round to checking out the G&WR soon! It looks good!

5:06 No. 5643!!! I had a footplate ride on her when she was at Severn Valley Railway! A lovely loco!
Southern 1638 is one of three locomotives I totally love
Did you check whether the loco's in the shed had sprung buffers?
Let's hope that the motor isn't too close to the back wall
Looks like you had a superb visit to the line! I must visit again at some point too! So many amazing locos there! And how well keep every thing is! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the comment!
Glad you enjoyed your visit to The Bluebell, this is how 'The Southern' used to be, and I wish it still was! All the folks at The Bluebell do a wonderful job and need all the support they can get, come back soon Will!

I have been here in 2011/2012 can't really remember, however its a brilliant railway with an excellent model shop.
Indeed - beautiful scenery and a lovely collection of locos.
Sorry for the late reply. I didn't see the Bullied Pacific but I did see most of the same locos in the shed as you did
That's a nice switch up. Full sized 1:1 scale. Rob

Ex Nine Elms driver Clive Groome at 26:07 there. If you ever wanted to drive a steam loco he runs a course.
I'm going to the Bluebell Railway the day after me birthday on Wednesday next week (Weather permitting) :) Can't wait to go there.
A Day At The Bluebell Railway
InterCity82 LOVE LOUIS SHIRLEY

I haven't made a video with the tablet yet but I'd like to try and that will be a great excuse.

nice video. Bluebell has never been my favourite railway. if you want a truly great railway visit Welshpool and Llanfair. great stock, great country side, nice people and best of all the balconies on the coaches that allow you to get close up with the engine especially when running cab first! and the engines are amazing too!
I don't think I've done that railway since I was about 4 years old - so I'm well overdue a re-visit!
Can you do more tour vids plz like the Crewe heritage center lovely vid

Superb day you had mate! Did you get any 00 gauge stuff while you were down south, if so, what did you get? :D
Haha no no - but my trip still cost about £200!
28:56 Is the model above Southern 900 some inspection engine or something?
I believe they used this line for the filming of Railway Children, is this correct?
I live in Bridgnorth, so I'm bias, but the SVR all the way!
I do like that one too but this is a strong contender.
I have a class 67 in a arrival livery .
You should go to the spa valley railway

hehe well the railway is not going anywhere - trust me.
