Regular paper is too thick. Light won't pass through as easily. Some baking sheets are translucent enough to be ok. One can also try tracing paper....or proper diffusion paper. I didn't use these cos I focused on items that you might already have at home. I'm actually filming another DIY vid where I'm gonna use an old shower curtain in stead of plastic. You could try that.
