      Fun looking project but if power was down that long id have other things id be doing first and knowing some people and their proximity to the power plants and how fast main lines get fixed. Common outage here = squirrel in transformer typically 2 or 3 hours huge ice storm well 2 to 3 on main after that they get ya going as they get to you up to 3 weeks later so in theory a guy with an all day outage thats on the main line of the nuke plant probably just got nuked

      @@jodifiori7930 yep as i was implying it depends how close you are to the plant and what priority level the company places your area in . Like the guy living less than a mile from the nuke plant would have better service. Simply put the only thing that shuts it down for more than a day is a plant problem still alot of people survived Chernobyl but yea you wouldn't worry about power at your house so much in that case as you'd leave and not return. Dams can be a bad event as well it doesn't end the world or country but sure can wipe out a town

      Actually real "pickup needles" are made of Aluminiumoxide, which -with the proper impurities- is also known as Saphire; and that is the second hardest natural occuring mineral, right after Diamond. The harder the material, the better it picks up the sound waves encoded in the groves of the LP. So while the LPs will eventually "die" from the use, it's not like it's gonna happen much sooner by using a steel needle. Though too much force from the needle on the LP (say by resting the weight of the cup and part of the ruler on it) might make things worse indeed.

    Buy about 4 or 5 solar panels and a long wheel-barrow type frame to mount them on, add a couple of deep cycle batteries and a 1500 Watt inverter and a 10 Ga extension cord and keep the fridge running. If you have a Bunn Velocibrew coffee pot, this takes priority: brew a pot of coffee while the water inside is still hot, THEN get out the solar.....

    Aussies. Take lemons n make lemonade spritzer cocktails! I'd love to come down there someday, just afraid my northern hemispherical extra heavy duty gravity will make me weigh too much. I will just stay here n die inside like the rest of the dreadful American counterparts. Y'all always seem so chippah mate! Eat a shrimp for me!

    For a semi-sharpened drawing pin shoved through a paper cup and strapped to a cryobi, that did not sound nearly as shit as I thought it would have!
    Did you get a chance to try a polymer cup?

    You can also figure a way to recharge your cell phone battery, that shouldn't be too hard you might be able to use a motor as the generator. If your neighbors water service is on you can waist their water on a water wheel to turn your generator or try using the wind. Or in slave a member of your family to turn the generator. Just some ideas I'm sure you will figure it out. Love your work.

    Uhm... It would be easier to turn your modem into a speaker box than doing that!
    BTW, I imagine audiophiles screaming about the tracking force on the record, the track side force (no idea how it's called in English) the record speed!
    (And yes I'm screaming all about that, unfortunately I don't have crappy records)

    • @buddyclem7328
      @buddyclem7328 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe it's called side tracking force, but I'm no expert. I mostly used reel to reel tape and cassettes growing up.
