An amazing Watch especially in blue. Only point considering upgrading is the bracialet , the one in stock is heavy and chunky. Any suggestions for alternatives?
Great size and dial but the screwed case back is concerning for me and a no-buy. This introduces multiple points of failure for water entry. Almost every other dive watch uses a screw-in case back which is much less likely to fail.
I’m not fully convinced, I’m in love with the Ocean Star 600 (the cosc one) and I still don’t get why they just didn’t make the same version, but smaller! Just like Longines is doing with the Hydroconquest… they nailed it! Same watch, same movement, ceramic bezel, available in 3 different sizes, that’s how you conquer the market! Many brands are not understanding that a smaller size doesn’t mean a downgrade!! This comes with a new design, for sure, but 39mm and it comes with a calibre 72, instead of the cosc one, and probably the bezel is also back to aluminium…why? 😤
I am not sure Mido has the market share that allows for that. I think this is made to be a kind of BB58 alternative at a lower price point, hence the lack of crown guards.
Yes the SWATCH group is especially bad for this. The 43mm Certina DS Action gets a ceramic bezel insert while the 38mm models get a cheaper bracelet and an aluminum insert. The Hamilton Khaki Scuba in 43mm has a cool no-date dial and ceramic bezel insert, but the smaller 40mm version has an aluminum insert with no lumed bezel pip and a different dial with a date. Then the new 40mm Tissot Seastar comes with a cheap mineral bezel insert while the 43 and 46mm versions have nice engraved ceramic bezel inserts. I refuse to buy these reduced models until they get a ceramic insert like the larger models.
@@dustinr16 happy you got the point! We’re on the same boat. The only reasonable alternative for a little higher price range is the Hydroconquest! I’ll definitely go for this one at the end
One of the best looking divers in recent years. The specs are just perfect. I prefer the black version though.
With those cheap looking plastic waves? 😂
@@BR81-iv6lt with the right light it seems a sandy beach
Why is this the only video on TH-cam for the mido ocean star 39? 😮
Incredible. That's ART.
I actually wanted to buy the Tag Heuer Aquaracer Pro. But this Mido looks exactly the same. The waves are even better. 😯
I am doing the same comparison. The Aquaracer is like 3X the price. Is it justifiable?
Quiero uno y en ese color, para mi esos 39mm es el tamaño perfecto...

No, it's not heavy and chunky.

Isn't the wave pattern on the dial a bit too prominent ?
Lume is blue or green?
Ceramic bezel?
No, I think is aluminium, and quite ugly, in person it actually looks kind of bad. The black version is miles better
mido batman ...
Oh come one the closure it s not elegant or slim it's kind of chunky... I own one of this and I love it but let's be honest;)

Superb but too small... Mido should make, 42 - 43 mm version, and will be without competition...
