i really, really hope this game gets a re-release somewhere in the future with a proper development window. If you saw Austin's video and those amazing illustrations, the novel, the webpage... listening to this is just heartbreaking
I desperately hope so. I heard through the grapevine that Squeenix gave Naka just the one chance, and if it flopped the relationship is over, which makes Balan's failure that much more tragic. It's so sad, we'll probably never get a sequel
a truly over-hated masterpiece. what a remarkable show this game was. it was indeed simplistic, but it didn't need to be complicated. it just needed to be fun. and it was for me. even the story, while indeed not as complex as others, it got its message across quite nicely. it's a shame that the world's reaction to this game will prevent it from ever getting anything more than this title and the novel, but I'll enjoy it till the very end. Thank you, Balan.
One button Controls, choppy frames, musicals so cringe worthy that you can't help but wonder if they're ironic, story that you have to buy a novel for, terribly sudden graphics shift from the great cgi cut-scenes to the actual game, multiple useless or copied costume, bad level design that more requires you to use up your time instead of actually doing any platforming (take for example, that one gear costume, which doesn't require any skill to be used, so doors that need it to be opened and things that need it to be activated are just a nuisance. Why isn't it just an open hole if you don't have to do anything skill-reliant to get through?)
I’m not a huge fan of the game in regards to gameplay, but I’m glad you like it :) It’s good that some people can enjoy something that I, and many others don’t.
I swear to god everytime i listen to one of the osts from balan wonderworld is just people saying that the game play's shitty. We all know it and no one needs to keep bringing it up on every ost they got for god sake
Let’s hope Hironobu Sakaguchi doesn’t repeat his home company’s mistake of hiring revered Sega veterans to make a flopped platformer, or else that would tarnish the reputation of Mistwalker, the company he founded after leaving Square in 2003 when they acquired Enix.
(Checkpoint March 31, 2021/11:45PM) it really upset me how bad the gameplay is...it has soo many potential to be a good game like the art, the style, music, everything has so much hope to shine....and yet the gameplay is just...ugh... i have said enough but I do enjoy the ost of this game really good stuff...its ashame the final game is just wasted potential if they just delay it or reboot everything... I don't care how long it takes, I wanted this to be good or something that many can remember and enjoy for many years to come, but nope...It's not what it is, it's not worth your 60 dollars. I'm sorry but man such a huge let down :(
Never thought I’d play a game where everything but the gameplay was good
Arms be like
Hey have you heard of this thing called a sonic game
@@kirble1119 that depends on which sonic game tbh
@@xSoporific1 that was the joke
@@kirble1119 I’m aware but I’m just stating
I am proud to say I do not regret in the slightest dedicating 2 whole months to this game.
Can I say the credits is in my top 3 favourite OSTs in this game? I just love theater sounding music akhdka

Man ,I commented the same thing in other video and recieved lost of replies about how dumb I am. Bit I agree with you.

@@XerxesTexasToast do you know what other Sonic-related game never got a sequel, Ristar
Literally everything other than the gameplay is good.
And even then, it's just THOSE components. There's a surprising amount for completionists to do. Too bad... you know.

No matter how crap this game was. The music for it will always be memorable to me.
The music is amazing and I can see where they were going for the game but failed. I still love it though

Cartoon Town: Season Finale Ellie VS. Matthew Littlemore (2026) Sneak Peek...
that feeling after graduating
Regardless of what people say, while I agree the gameplay could be better, the presentation was amazing and that’s fine with me
This is the song that we must play once this pandemic crises along with Ukraine are over.
I want this to be my theme song
Funny. The best part of this game, is when it ends.
Hey I like the game
Best part of this game
