The 3.0 TFSI Is underrated,very fun to drive and very fast for a V6.
Love the C7 Gen in this color :D
I currently have the factory s tuned version of the engine in a q7 with the paddle shifts and the sports mode transmission. It's a lot of fun to drive.

One of the best engines Audi ever built by far. Rock solid, and incredibly responsive to even light modifications. They can definitely make big power.

you can get 95% of this experience from the C6 without any of the gearbox worries. Its definitely not as refined but 300 quid for a 400hp remap and only 5k for the car its a bargain!

@lukezi3952 my point stands I've had both cars , neither are dynamically brilliant c7 tech is now also out ofdate. Gearbox is far better in the c7 but is a point of failure with more torque. But have same engine , same quattro system, very similar suspension setup
@@dagnutthe c7 a7 and a6 use a zf8 transmission. How would an automatic c6 be better? Unless it's manual it won't be on par with c7.
As an A6 c7 owner..I can confirm it's a privilege to step on the gas in this beast
This video made me go out and get myself A6 Avant with the same engine and quattro. I’ve done all the same mods and now have a beast that looks like a sleeper. It surprises most cars and gets much appreciation from petrol heads.
I'm sure without any cars getting in your way on a very long straight, this modded A6 3.0T would have no problem crossing over 290 KPH... My guess would be 293 KPH... Which is 182 and change mph. Very impressive! That supercharged A6 sounds incredible as well! Excellent run guys!! 🍻

@@anthonylattanzi3199 yes it does I have a 2015 non crec I want to tune it but want a true cold air intake like are factory one is the c7.5 air box as big as the rs models because I know it's bigger than mines
I currently own(about a year now) a 2012 q7 with the factory s tuned version of this engine, currently stock it moves that big heavy suv very nicely, I can't wait to see what it does with an APR pulley and chip tune. I love surprising passengers with how quick that big heavy girl can move! love my suv it's so much fun to drive :)
It's got that Porsche undertone. Amazing sleeper executive saloon.

I've got manual S4 with sport diff and this engine with just a ECU tune 417hp and 490NM. I love the car, this is absolutely great engine that doesn't have a counterpart in today's saloons from any manufacturer, it almost looks like they made it accidentaly too good. It's like a modern 2JZ but people never heard about it. Did 280 in mine, but I know it can go 301/302.
I had one a few years ago. Open road driving is a pleasure in this vehicle. My friends all said the same. I'm watching this video cos I'm looking at getting another.
Absolutely love these cars and the 3.0T is magic, sucks they all seem to suffer from timing chain or tensioner problems.

I thought that was in I4 2.0L only? Mine has nearly 184K miles and never an issue
@@georgepapaioannou5115 They have an issue with the hydraulic tensioner losing pressure when the car sits overnight, causing a chain rattle on cold start. Audi has put out a TSB for them and said it is not a concern unless the rattle is prolonged (more than 3 seconds). All 3.0t's from 2011 to 2015 had this issue no matter the model. Usually the left bank as well.
Love this car! One of the best looking A6 ever too. My kind of conversion with all the changes not visible from the outside. This guy has good taste!

Same engine but with 2 injector per cylinder - 2016 model on a A6 allroad with only stage 1 mrc deliver 4.3s/100 and 11 s 100-200 but with bigger mass and road capabilities and on air suspension. Couldn't be much happier
Wow i didn't know that this a6 had that wind noise problem at 230kmh+ i am currently driving the facelifted mazda cx-5 as a press vehicle and it has that problem aswell but it's a medium sized suv. In this A6 with "german engineering" i find that quite disappointing. However great car overall tho! 💯

My 2010 B8 S4 has similar power figures but only with a single SC pulley upgrade and stage 2 MRC ecu/TVS TCU software . This A6 being DP does introduce more potential for heat soak issues but unless it was consistently being hammered in high ambient temps or tracked/drag stripped this really shouldn't pose much of a problem. With my car being lighter it can hit 0-100 a bit less than this unit but that is still pretty impressive figures for an otherwise stock looking A6! The VMAX should be over 300km/h though as most stage 2 software unlocks the max RPMs to around 7250. Like others have said too, that wind noise above 250! I'm rarely ever near that speed being in the UK but glad to say I don't have that whistling racket going on.
This car needs abadass wheels and darker glasses, maybe some badass lights..... damn that would make it 10/10 right now its 9.8/10 so yeah u can tell i love this car :D

As a previous A4 2.0tfsi owner, i want this car so badly. Now i have typer fk2, can do easily 100-200 in 10secs, possible to improve to around 6secs, but comfort feeling is average. Quattro drive and V6 sounds what im looking for. I wish it has manual gearbox and turbocharged.

Honestly torn on an X3 M40i, or one of these for half as much, or a Q7 3.0t supercharged. Honestly the Q7 is so good for a family hauler, but it is replacing my SRT Challenger... Needs to be fun. If I get an A6 I can probably keep the Dodge, but maintaining 4 cars with high miles would suck

I have Same stage 2 A6 but 2009 sluggish tiptronic definitely makes my A6 slower from 100 to 200 kmh.
Mine clocked at 11.78 seconds.
I got a remap to 400hp for only 300 quid. The advantage of the tiptroinc is it is way more durable than the s tronics , they can fail with more power they aren't designed for it...the zf 6 speed we have is basically the same unit from the C6 RS6 so it can take extra power without any issue. I bought a remapped S5 with the s tronic and it developed a gearbox fault on the first day...luckily I got my money back from the dealer but it lead my into research on the double clutch unit and there are lots of horror stories out there..11k replacement .

Have this engine in my a4, currently bout 500hp 600nm . It runs a solid 8.7 100-200 . 130k on the clock. Its for sale :D very reliable car and fuel consumption is very manageable. Go hit me up

This car does not have launch control. Yes you can turn off traction control and do the “launch sequence” but it’s not a true launch control. It’s called brake boosting. You hold the brake, slam the gas then release the brake. But unlike cars with true launch control, this car uses a torque converter to brake boost essentially give the car a “launch control feel” but slowly destroying the clutch to brake boost
In Europe C7 3.0T came with S-Tronic (DSG) transmission.

I have the same exact car and engine but I have 183K miles. Wondering if it is too late to add similar engine upgrades.
You can get a remap that bumps the power to 430hp. APR isn't a great company for 3.0T tuning at this point, they have moved on to other platforms. Integrated Engineering or 034 Motorsport are your best bet. They both sit around 510hp with the exact mods shown on this car.
In terms of longevity, I have a friend with a B8 S4 with these mods and he has daily driven the car from 100k to 160k with no issues.

I’m looking to buy a 2019 Audi A6 3.0T Quattro, anyone have good tips / suggestions for modifying it? Performance & sound wise
Good advice, don't buy it. I was about to buy 2019 3.0T last month and after talking to 2 good service engineers both told me to go down to 2018 C7 3.0T. C7 is supercharged, C8 is turbocharged. The turbo does not make more than 60k miles (100K km) and needs replacement. It is located behind the engine under the firewall thus you need to remove the entire engine to replace the turbo. It is costly. It also has a soft hybrid that does 90k miles (150k km) at max and it VERY expensive to replace. Therse 2 items will require replacement around 90-100k miles and may even cost $15K. The new one also has DPF filter like the diesel cars, which causes regular problems and requires regular trps on the highway to clear it up. I followed the advice and I am now buying C7 2018 with some 50k miles but supercharged stock engine 340HP, which I will tune to 450HP. So, go with C7 and forget C8 gen Audi's.

at 10:38 if you kickdown its like there is no power and then suddenly it grabs and it goes.. mine does that to its like it slipping in gear or is that normal?

Its the Gearbox Software preventing from too violent gear release which could otherwise snap the gearing. I noticed this if you are driving like hard, really hard, the gearbox change would be so violent if it would not smooth it out and engage a lot later it could break the gearbox. I know this really well because i had the same S-Tronic in the RS5 and in my S4. In the RS5 i had the transmission remapped and it does not do this, but at the same time its so fucking violent that im scared to kickdown from the wrong rev range because you can just feel how the whole car feels like its breaking apart. Can only guess whats happening in the gearbox at this time, it must be 10x worse than what i feel as a driver. So im really glad my daily driver S4 does do this smoothing even it may suck sometimes.
These engines are tesla beaters all day once you go dual pulley even on 91.

I traded in my C6 for the C7 ( Mine was a 3.2 C6 S line which was epic ) and got the C7 with the 3.0 TFSI. The interior imo is a massive disappointment and is a step down from the predecessor.

Even the stock one can go 230 plus, therefore is no excuse for the absolutely terrible wind noise. Such a high price to pay back then and then this? Wouldn’t pay a euro for it. Embarrassing for audi!
I have the same engine in my SQ5 and it is very tuneable with only bolt ons. I only have stage 1 ecu and tcu tune with custom stock airbox and highflow reinforced inlet hose. Puts out about 440hp, weighs 155kg heavier than the A6, less aerodynamic compared to the A6. Yet my times from 0-100 and 100-200 are the same as this A6. The setup of this A6 is very poor and off, the sound of the A6 betrays that there are still stock cats underneath stage 2+ will melt these. No upgraded heat exchanger this engine is prone to heat soak with all its negative effects. Stock restrictive inlet hose with no reinforcement. All this together causes the poor performance of this setup because these are requirements for stage 2+. Nevertheless a beautiful sleeper and will surprise many 👍🏻
@@ronaldpollack Those full throttle runs could have melted the front section of the cats. I would recommend putting the race cats in the downpipe section of the exhaust, after the flex's. The cats so close to the exhaust manifold is why they fail, and even race cats in that location will fail. I also agree with DutchSQ5 that a heat exchanger would be a good addition as well to keep intake air temps down and avoid heat soak.
I have a 2012 C7 3.0T U.S. spec with the ZF8HP-55 trans in the same color and exterior trim spec. Ice Silver Metallic is a beautiful color on these cars.
Interior is too basic not even a sport seats.

I'm impressed with the APR tune. I know APR is a good choice of brand but for being an OTS canned tune, it performs really well.
Also, isn't it one of the upsides of a supercharger that it will keep going as long as the crank pulley is right specced? (Forgive me for not knowing much of superchargers)
The pulley upgrade just makes the supercharger do more revelations and that results in more boost and it will now also produce more sound (especially with an open air filter)
