Dez was getting single covered and still didn't produce. What's the problem? He wasn't cutting it anymore. I keep seeing it was daks fault. How? He has great numbers with all of the other recievers. No excuses. I like Dez he is talented. But he should have been proving his worth.

Even on the radio, they tip toe around the issue, I have never heard them say, "Dez can improve on his routes, etc. " They make excuses for him.

Dez has diminished in production but they took too long to let him go. They did the same thing with Romo. In the end it hurts both parties. Dez has to struggle to find a team this close to the draft and the cowboys didn't get to use that cap space to play in free agency to help the defense.

Stephen Jones is the guy making these calls in Dallas not really Jerry. Dez also said he wouldn’t take a pay cut earlier this year, then he came back on Twitter saying they never even gave him a chance to talk money.
Dez is unscripted, and that earlier comment was an off the cuff response. I would have said the same thing, and easily later rethought my position. I'm not just exploiting hindsight in saying this. The Cowboys knew they could have played Let's Make A Deal. But the staff wanted him out. And bet your bottom dollar that just a couple of crucial players backed them on this. The COACHES did this one. And Stephen backed THEM.
Dallas doesn’t care if he gets paid they care who pays him. They want him out of the division and preferably out of the conference

Dak was the reason Dez wasn't producing as much. With a healthy Tony Romo, Dez had an incredible season.

Seeing how he was convinced on passing on Manziel, releasing Romo, and now releasing dez makes me think that Jerry might be finally handing over the reins to Stephen
They didn't "convince" Jerry - they just wore him down. Jerry finally gave up the fight, against a roomful of staff in opposition. Jerry used to get his way all the time, but he's willing to defer to Stephen now. And on this one, Stephen had no desire to keep him. And the staff hate him regardless of how many yards he gets. It's Stephen and the tiny dicked staff on this one, believe that.

Its the coaching staff that should be released as well as J.Witten. All this bs about Dez cant run routes. Watch tapes and find out for yourselves. Dez made some mistakes but Dak has VERY POOR field vision and decision making as a quaterback as well as too big of an ego. J.Garrett (and some of his coaching staff) and J.Witten need to go asap. J.Witten is too damn slow. He runs like he has two bad legs and J.Garrett is a poor coach SMDH. Dez will go somewhere else and most likely will shine if given the chance.

Dez is D.O.N.E. They cut him loose to sign with ANYONE. So any team in the same division could sign him. And the Cowboys still let him go. Dez was targeted enough to have an impact and couldn't get it done. Go young Dallas, draft a speedy #1 receiver early and keep it moving.
M.E. you’re partially right. The difference in Romo and Dak is pretty straight forward. Romo throws the ball where you’re supposed to be and anticipates the separation. Dak, as a sophomore mind you, waits until he sees separation and then throws. Often too late especially for a possession type receiver like Dez. Secondly, Dez does not run crisp routes. He rounds them, cuts them and looks for space vs the called route. Watch Brady’s receivers. In most cases they aren’t regarded as elite. What Brady demands is tight, predictable targets so that he can throw the ball to a spot where the receiver is supposed to be.

For those who simply do not know: Dez is not a fly receiver (although he can run it and still occasionally scores on it occasionally). He is not a separation route runner. He is a possession receiver with 20 inch biceps that wins every time if you just throw it correctly. He is the best run-after-catch player in the league. He is the best slant and dig receiver ever born. So don't talk about "Doesn't get separation." That's not what he is, or was, as he rewrote the Cowboys' record book.

He had 6 credited drops. Two were behind him while in stride though he got hands on them. One dropped to the ground when he got crashed into one instant after the ball arrived. So 3 "real" drops - and yes, those 3 were HORRIBLE, and got replayed 1,000 times. I'm just saying. Understand the facts. (P.S. 3 drops would be approximately 70th worst in the league - also, just saying. That stat is misleading and misunderstood)

Dak's rookie year, they went 3-0 without Dez. The beat the 49ers, Bengals (at the time, a top-10 defense) and annihilated the Packers on their own field. Dak's totals: 59-83, 71%, 719 yds, 6 TD, 1 INT, 117 rating while throwing to 7 different receivers on the team (doesn't include RB's).
I am not a cowboy's fan but Tony Romo was Dez Bryant's qb. I don't think Dez and Dak were ever on the same page. Outsider looking in.

When Green Bay released Jordy Nelson, they did right by him by releasing him before free agency started and gave him a chance to choose where Jordy felt was a good fit. Dez wasn't going to last long in Dallas without Tony Romo as his QB. His three declining straight seasons all had one thing in common. No Tony Romo because unfortunately Romo couldn't stay healthy. I also don't think Dak is the answer. He had an amazing rookie season, but I don't see him regaining that level of play again
