you are honestly so inspirational without even trying to be and that's why i love your content! your work ethic and daily organization has helped me do better for myself
The adjustment period moving to my city after graduating was TOUGH bc, similar to what you were saying, it felt like it was the life I had always dreamed of but I didn't enjoy it because it didn't feel like home. Now I've been here nearly six months and it's starting to really feel right finally. Keep pushing through. Not feeling it now doesn't mean it's not for you, but I think it's so hard to live through the adjustment periods when we want to just be there and have it feeling good already
I 100% still feel the same way about college as you and I graduated 3 year ago! Also, something I always remind myself of is that change ALWAYS feels weird. Even if it’s the best change ever, your body isn’t use to it and your mind isn’t use to it right away. So when I feel those emotions while I’m going into a change, I just remind myself that they will pass with time and someday I will look back on that time and wonder how the new thing didn’t always feel like home. Those feelings will pass!
Hi Abby ! It's okay to feel how you feel. I finished studying about 3 years ago after 6 years (law master + specialisation year) and I loved y Uni experience, I liked how each term was like a new start, how the goals were clear and how you felt like you were "going somewhere" and then once I finished it was this big "so what now ?" and "all this for ... that ?". Tbh I sometimes still feel like that, and I guess a part of me will forever miss my school years. It gets particularly difficult at the beginning of terms, seeing all the "back to school" stuff I always feel like I want to go back. I think it's okay, because it means we had amazing years :-) BUT we also are living great moments and there's amazing times ahead of us as well !! I think the key is to focus on that, and on what's to come instead of what we "lost", and find excitement in little goals we set for ourselves :-) !
I get it. Moving to a big city is hard. Especially when you’ve lived your whole life in smallish towns. I’m from Alabama and have lived in Denver for the last year and a half and am about to move out back to Alabama because it’s just hard. Living in a major city can feel suffocating when it’s not what you’re used to and make you miss the simplicity of a small town. It’s ok to not be ok all the time.
Just to have a lil OG moment, I’ve been watching your content for so long now and we kinda have such a similar track of life it’s crazy. We’re both from the 850 (I’m from pensacola!), went to Alabama, and made a huge life move to Texas. I remember watching a super old video of yours where you mentioned how you didn’t like Tuscaloosa, you wanted to be with your friends at UF, and you were so ready to transfer (believe me, I was gonna transfer too-I actually got accepted to transfer and didn’t go last minute). I say this to say: Tuscaloosa became home to you over time as you found your place. It took me at LEAST 7-8 months to feel home in Texas, and I miss Ttown every single day. But! Give yourself patience and grace and just know that it will 100% fall into place and ALSO let yourself feel those feelings girl! totally normal. Life is gonna be soooo much better after you finish the CPA and start working and you get into your perfect routine for you. This is what I like to call the “season of uncomfortable change”, and just like normal seasons, they eventually come to pass and you emerge on the other side. You got this!!
Abby everything going to feel normal, just moved there and you not going really feel home, until you go out and meet new people and environment. And it’s going to feel like home, enjoyed the vloggy vlog!
I always get so excited when I see a new video from you in my subscriptions box! You’re just so sweet, and genuine! I love that you’re always so real and honest about everything and it’s so refreshing and relatable 🤍 hope you’re doing well!! ☺️
I feel the same. Graduated with my first degree that wasn’t using so I went to nursing school. Got a job as a new grad in critical care but I still am not sure this is what I’m supposed to be doing. I feel like I’m so focused on finding something I’m going to love waking up to do but I don’t think I’ll ever get there. I don’t know what it is and I don’t know if I’ll ever know.. 🤷🏻♀️
Okay the part where you were talking on your balcony...I FEEEEEL that. I've felt that ever since I graduated in 2018. I moved to Japan when I graduated and that was something I had been working towards since I was a sophomore in highschool. Now I'm back in the states working at an international school and like...I have everything I worked for and I feel like I should be super happy and content but I just feel...lost like you said. I wonder what's next or if this is it? Is this life? I think super goal oriented people struggle when there isn't a specific long term goal to work towards. I also have heard/read multiple times that your 20's are super confusing and you always feel lost or behind or directionless. Apparently your 30's are better so we all have that to look forward to ^_^ The home feeling will come when you start working I think. You'll have a community of people around you and you'll feel more like you belong. That's what happened to me!
totally unsolicited advice but I heard that it takes about a year to get used to a new environment/city. Don’t give up, wait it out, in a way your getting used to your new life and sooner than later you’ll become more comfortable in your new life. Kind of like freshman year of college, it sucked but once your settled it gets better. I’m a senior in college and I hated my school freshman year but now as a senior I absolutely love it here. Don’t go home so much too, cause that distracted me from settling and creating my own life in the new city.
From what you were saying you were worried about after graduating is so similar to my feelings. I feel like you'd benefit from therapy with all the ranting you do to the camera. I recently started using Betterhelp and it's really helpful to get an opinion from a professional. This isn't meant to be hate, just a suggestion. I love your videos ❤️❤️
The radio noise in background made me laugh so hard 😂

binge watching ur vlogs!! also playing it at the background while doing something. one of my fav vloggers to watch ✨❤️

I think Houston will start to feel more like home once you’re done studying and can enjoy life there💕
