As a performing pianist myself in Israel in the 60th and 70th before moving to the US, I knew Mindru very well --very fine musician.
and so did i Rachel, very closely. he was a unique musician and personality, i feel very lucky to have known him. and henrik sherring too by the way. he came to give concerts with the Haifa symphonie orchestra.
It is a wonderful work, very well played by Szeryng, whose artistry I appreciate a lot.

Lovely. Still my favorite recording of Franck's A major Sonata for VIolin remains that of Zino Fracescatti and Robert Casadesus.
Katz became good friends with Szeryng in 1969, after a Katz’s piano recital in Paris. Convinced by Szeryng in 1972, Katz agreed to record with him, a year later, the 2 sonatas (Franck and Brahms), for BBC 3 (1973). Thus, In June 1973 Katz flew to London, especially for this purpose.
