Those old Continental engines were durable as hell. Not surprised it lasted so long without water. My grandfater bought a MH 44 special new for the farm in 1952 and I had it up until 3 years ago. It hauled grain and trailers for 50 years, plowed, and world 4 acres with a 2 point plow for about 40 years and plowed snow in winter all of it's life. Finally sold it to a guy looking to finish his MH collection since it needed A LOT of work but that old continental engine although tired and using a bit of oil still ran great with never any overhauls.
I think it had some Lucas Hd in the oil. I didnt jave it lomg enough to change the oil. I used it to mow grass, the oil was probable 30 year old & like water so instead change out I poured in some lucad hd. To slick it back up untill could do a service on it.
