I would be ok with that. I only have ever had a few Diamond Select figures and they aren't my favorite at all. Bigger characters are ok but normal figures, no way.
At the London Comic-Con Hasbro stated that they are currently working on 2026 Legends so if it does expire it's not going to be until after that. Why would they put work into releases 2 years in advance if they thought they were going to lose the license? Also they just started a new wave with Secret Wars and only have 2 waves of X-men 97'. My prediction is that they turf Star Wars because it's toy line is basically dead and keep Marvel because they are firing on on cylinders currently and that helps all parties involved.
I think Hasbro will keep Marvel but just because they are working on 2026 doesn't mean they for sure will. It takes them a year or more to get a figure out. so if the license comes up to be renewed this year, they still have to be planning as if they'll keep the line because otherwise they would have a year long gap in figures coming out. Also just starting sub lines like Secret Wars and 2 waves of xmen really doesn't show they'd keep anything because as someone else mentions with Power Rangers they didn't finish all the teams they started and still ended those.
Toy companies plan at least a year or two ahead regardless of the license renewal, this is just how the industry works because it takes a long time to make them especially at the quantity Hasbro usually produce.
Mcfarlane’s DC figs arent statues. You can get them into any pose most Legends figs can get into. He’s made huge improvements in articulation. The line has made a turn a year or so back and were getting classic looks, deep cuts, and even deeper cuts. DC isnt changing companies. There are 500 figures and tons more coming out. Id prefer if everything stayed where theyre at because I dont want to start over if the new company doesnt stay consistent. Id be fine with Mcfarlane if he got it since I prefer his DC style but that would still mean starting over.
sure they can pose but they don't look half as good as Marvel Legends. With those diapers you can forget about anything close to a crouched pose. slight step forward and a lifted arm is about as much as you'll get. The sculpting I will say though is better than most Legends.
Both Mcfarlane and marvel legends have really upped their game in the last year. I think McFarlane has really dialed into fans wants with more classic versions of characters and upping their game with softgoods I’d love to see Hasbro get the 6 inch DC license and then be restricted to say classic interpretations up through say 2004 but nothing truly modern; that would stay with McFarlane. I’d love to have DC legends that scaled with my marvel legends and had marvel legends level articulation.
Let’s just say it: McFarlane figures suck 99% of the time and it would be horrible if he got the Marvel license. Nobody wants him doing Marvel figures, except for Todd himself.

I can see Hasbro farming their kid lines to Spin Master or whatever. I doubt they'd give up Legends. I think Legends has been much better with the drawdown of MCU stuff which clogged up shelves, etc. I would love to see Hasbro get DC as McF stuff is ok, but not the best. Hasbro doing both Marvel and DC would not be odd as Mattel owns both Matchbox and Hot Wheels (both shelf competitors).

It's fun to speculate, but Hasbro and Disney are working fine together. At some point, Hasbro will be acquired too- all of the cost-cutting feels like a prelude to a stock buyout. And there have been periodic rumors for over a decade that Disney could be a buyer...
This will happen, I can see Hasbro being absorbed by Disney. That would be the best case scenario if they were to go belly up. I'd love some actually articulated figures of Disney characters!
They arent working well together. Star Wars sits in stores and none of the shows have an audience. Marvel is in the same boat. Deadpool 3 was an anomaly.
I totally agree with the opinion that I would rather see a Hasbro version of DC characters rather than a McFarlane style Marvel line. That being said, in the same way that Diamond Select makes Marvel 7" figures and Hasbro makes 6" Marvel, why couldn't we have McFarlane continue to do 7" DC and let someone like Hasbro or Jada Toys do 6" DC characters? Seems like a no brainer, and I would LOVE to have some 6" DC characters.
Hasbro has had the marvel legends line so long it would suck for McFarland to get line especially how far Hasbro took line so far with great looking figures and awesome actuation and in 6" scale
Hasbro losing Legends would be bad, but like everything else it can always get worse. In this case it would be MidFarlane getting the license, as it would just be Toy Biz 2.0- Ugly sculpts, terrible proportions, limited articulation, and atrocious faces. Midfarlane losing DC would be a dream come true.
True. ToyBiz really did have goofy proportions but everyone likes to look back on them with rose tinted glasses. That might be a future episode no that I think about it.
I think they were amazing for launching the line. The vale was incredible. But comparing them to today’s figures you pretty much kidding yourself if you think the ToyBiz version is better.
@@thestrongcollectorstbf 10-15$ for an action figure, a diorama, and a comic is very good… even if said figures had some very wacky proportions. Don’t get me wrong Toy-Biz definitely had some good figs but it definitely wasn’t the best toys as a lot of people hype them up to be.
Never in a million years did I think McFarlane would do Marvel products while Hasbro still having the Marvel license, so anything is possible, with that being said, for me if McFarlane kept DC Direct line at 7 inch and statues and Hasbro got a small portion of DC 6 inch, Hasbro keeps the Marvel Legends 6 inch and McFarlane continues the Marvel statues or something in between those lines, there are plenty of fans on both ends and everyone would be happier.
They really are. I just saw a post in the FB groups asking of Marvel legends has fallen off and i think we'll do a whole video on talking about that and how we don't think so at all.
Yeah after what feels like almost a decade or so. They are behind when it comes to numerous toy companies and what makes it even more hilarious is the simple fact that they have more money that many companies who do a much better job with less money.

I don't think anything is going to change with any of the lines/companies but hasbro doing DC would be cool but idk that they could keep up with doing DC and ML. And yes Jada is amazing but no way could they keep up with the demand and production of a big line. The can barely get out a figure or two per month. I wouldn't mind seeing DC go back to Mattel, I think they did a great job when they did DC. Either way, I'm sticking with Mafex for my marvel and DC figures, slowly replacing my ML and DC Multiverse as they release good figures.
I would like to see some more DC figures like the DC Classics but with more Hasbro articulation. I think I'd still rather see Jada do 2-4 DC figures per year. I agree WB would probably want to be pumping out figures a lot faster.

that doesn't really show they will for sure keep a the brand. They have to plan ahead either way. It takes a year or more to get a figure out. I'd guess if they loose Marvel, it would be something they would find out at least a year in advance. then the new company would need a year before they put out any figures.

I dont care either way because i dont buy much from either company anymore . I have evolved into 3rd party and kitbashing my own pieces .
From a business perspective, licensing a brand always has two aspects: On the one hand simply the license fees, but on the other hand also the desire to achieve marketing effects for your own branded products through the licensed products. Those are - for Disney/Marvel - films and comics, both of which are very neglected by Hasbro, who at least today is above all recreating old toylines and makes figures from video games or comics from the 90s and before. Those have only minor marketing effects for Disney (apart from some omnibus reprints of older comics). In terms of films and shows you have to notice: Too little, too late and with a bad flair (f.e. a whole wave for Eternals and Ant Man 3, not a single figure for GotG holiday special, one side charakter for Werewolf by Night A YEAR LATER, D&W four months later). Thus might make Disney reconsider either if Hasbro is still the right licensing partner or the amount of license fees (since the missing marketing effects have to be recouped through the fees), which in turn could be the straw that breaks the camel's back for Hasbro. On the other hand the things You are discussing like soft goods, posability etc. is unlikely to be a consideration for Disney/Marvel with regard to the question of licensing. In the end it's only economics.
My only problem with another company doing DC is that at least McFarlane does a lot of modern stuff which i am a fan of. I'm pretty positive that the new company would start out with your typical "classic" designs for characters which I'm not a fan of.
I think hasbro has done good. though I hope Hasbro keeps Marvel license base on figures from the comics but figures base on MCU or movies that license should go to another company. About DC license still goes to Mcfarlane on the 7 inch scale but same there give the DC moviebase toys license to another company. But 1/12(6inch) scale on comicbookscale I would love to see Hasbro do DC comicbookbase figures or Jada toys does them with vehicle and all.
I dont wish Todd McFarlane's ego and business decisions in anybody but I really hope he gets the marvel license because I don't think marvel legends stans will put up with the shit us dc fans deal with with every single figure McFarlane puts out, especially the impossible to find at retail or sold out in a few minutes pre-orders bullshit!
Mcfarlane is a blight on action figure collecting period, it's a horrible thing they have such a death grip on dc, I shouldn't have to turn to expensive imports for ANY decent dc figures unless I really want to
Great show guys - and an interesting topic. This Marvel (aka Disney) license issue is a topic way too complex for me to obtain any subjectable opinion on it. Simply, I don't have enough information yet. However the Hasbro ML fans claiming they don't want to re-purchase previous characters have not seen the forest through the trees. What is Hasbro ML renown for (or some say infamous for)? Redoes. Hasbro CEO Chris Cox has mentioned in many interviews that he would like to sell off the toy manufacturing division of Hasbro to concentrate on digital platforms like D&D. All in all this to say, Hasbro may retain the Disney license however I foresee them licensing out to third parties stuff like Marvel Legends. This may not occur overnight yet it is likely.
I can see why they would want to give up toys and switch to digital. I doubt the adult collector base is as lucrative as what could be done in the digital world.
That's a pretty bold claim. Got any proof? Anyway, I hope you're right. I'd hate a Marvel figure line made by McFarlane. He's already screwing DC, but people still eat his stuff up.

Personally I'd love to see Jada Toys take one of these licensing from either Hasbro or McFarlane. McFarlane for sure has to go. I honestly do not understand how people can pay for such a badly made figure everytime
If mcfarlane gets it say goodbye to all your favorite female heroes and villains. If hasbro loses it i hope to god Mattel scoops them up. Their WWE line shows they're willing to take risks and do obscure characters and female figures.
If this speculative rumor is true. I hope if anyone gets the DC and Marvel license it would be Jada. They seem to get the right level of sculpt, paints, hands, heads and accessories. The plastic quality feels better than Hasbro or Mcfarlane. I highly doubt they would take that on but it’s my fan cast. Also, I doubt either IP is going to change hands.

I hope Jada or Mattel snags Marvel. Hasbro isn't failing Marvel, it's the other way around - And Hasbro is down big in stock price the past year. One look at Ollie's or Amazon and it's a sad reality.
I kind of doubt Marvel Legends has a huge impact on the Hasbro stock to be honest. Although i would love to see that baby go way up (I have Hasbro stock).
I'm looking forward to seeing what Hasbro can really do with the rumoured Spider-Man and Hulk deluxe packs,that's my in or sell the minimal amount of figures I have point. If I can't get the perfect Spidey I have in my head I'm out. Then it comes down to the 2025 list being true and all the characters I want being great ,and I'd be done . If it were up to me - Hasbro retains Marvel. We're so deep into the line now, it would be a shame not to finish off rosters and rogues galleries. Keep Legends Hasbro. McFarlane on the other hand...I'd LOVE if they lost DC and it went to someone else, something that matches Legends more. I really, really wish Hasbro could do DC...but sadly, can't. But I want Legends style DC so bad. I DO want McFarlane to at least finish off all the movie Batman's, though. If they lose it BEFORE they do the Burton Batman films, I'll be livid. Jack Joker, Devito Penguin, Pfiffer Catwoman. This seems like the majority take too: Keep Marvel at Hasbro. Change DC, but not before McFarlane finishes a few things. I'd also like to see McFarlane at least complete all the classic Batman rogues and JLA/JSA members. Basically, what I want from DC is DC Universe Classics but modern engineering. I want a CLASSIC line centered around the most ICONIC costumes, McFarlane focuses WAY too much on modern, but modernized with Legends quality, alt. parts, accessories, effects, and articulation..

I think Hasbro and McFarlane kinda represent marvel and DC well. Hasbro has a pretty face but lots of rehashing. Which is understandable. DC comics often try and copy Marvel but fall short and it all looks a little disjointed. I collect both. I'm a silver age comic person with a pinch of bronze age. With Marvel, I tend to like the more flat and less painted bodies cos that's how they looked back than. Not overly detailed costume wise. So I appreciate them focusing on head sculpts. Hasbro just need to up their game with accessory packs and more world building sets of thugs and cops etc...

I used to collect everything DC but I won't collect DC if McFarlane has it! I think Hasbro has done well with Marvel Legends. I would like them to listen more to the fans and finish teams but I think that's negotiable.
Do you do any dc now? Like mafex or mezco? I really think legends not finishing teams is a marketing tactic. If they can hold off on finishing a team maybe you start another and then keep going.
Yeah that’s really where legends shine. You can actually play and pose them. McFarlane, like Jordan said, you put them in 1 pose and that’s about all you get.
I think even if Mcfarlene got the Marvel Legends license, I don't think he could do 7 inch as Dimioned Select have that scale. As much as I have a few DC multiverse figures I would love them in 6inscale to go with legends however I feel a Mcfarlene toys main business is DC so can't see him wanting to let the license go
I really don't think NECA would be much better than McFarlane honestly. The animated tmnt look cool so i can see why you would say the animated xmen but neca really isn't very posable.

There 8 bit line is very nice. There's a few others I wanna get but scalpers are charging ridiculous money for the xenomorph 8-bit and predator 8 bit
Ohhhhh no!!!!! I love Hasbro Marvel legends, action, figures they are very fair on the characters they make if McFarlane grabs it will be having 1000 Spider-Man action figures per month before he decides to start making any female characters Plus 20 years of me collecting Hasbo marvel legends, I have yet to have a figure break on me or discolor. I cannot say the same for Todd McFarlane.

In my opinion I probably will never buy a McFarland I just don’t like how big the scale is and the pinned joints kill me but sheesh hasbro doing dc figures would be crazy like flash,Superman,Batman in marvel legends style would be so cool!! I’m also ok with jada toys they’ve been killing it with there street fighter line. But then again yall have a good point there’s no way hasbro is gonna be able to keep marvel legends and do dc figures but sheesh I wish 🙏🏼
I really wish they could do both. But i think i'd be happiest with Hasbro keeping Marvel and Jada getting DC for 6 inch figures. they would still fit well together. I do like that Todd is doing soft goods wired capes on the figures now but i just don't normally love the figures those capes are on.
@ 100% agree I would love for hasbro to be able to do both marvel & dc but I think jada would do a awesome job to especially how they always add good effects and accessories I honestly can’t wait I hope jada gets the dc Line,and for McFarland he has upgraded a little bit with the effects and wire capes but idk it’s not that the figures look horrible it’s jus other toy companies do it better but hasbro should start doing wired capes, it would boost sales a lot in my opinion.

I 100% agree. I used to like getting his figures and there are a select few I like but his figures are normally pretty under whelming when you actually get them in hand.
STar Wars Sucks because Hasbro is forced to make so many figs from Blah Disney+ SHows. Marvel has benefited since for the most part havent in last year or so been forced to produce much MCU crap since Covid and strikes and other delays put movies in serious delays, If Disney starts releasing a ton of movies again will get stuck having to devote a ton of waves and resources into MCU Crap that just sits until hits clearance

I think you're right on Todd being able to crush it with Star Wars. But like I said in the video, i think Todd could also crush it with SOME Marvel figures. He'd do an amazing Ghost Rider, Blade, Cable and figures like that. But you're right about Spiderman. Figures like him, Wolverine, pretty much any female figure, or full spandex figure would look doo doo.
oh man. We hadn't even considered NECA but i feel like that's almost worst than Todd. I know Jordan likes his NECA monsters but I only reluctantly collect the Gargoyles line. I feel like they cost quite a bit and the posablilty is no better than Todd's figures.

Wish I was on here. Spiderman basically have a diaper already with mafex that no one complains about. And yes. Mcfarlane stuff is always under the same sku. I look up the newest figure and it says it's in stock, in reality it's the old figure in stock. And yep. Todd black heart would be accurate. Issue is you won't get the definitive versions of marvel characters from Todd. Until maybe years later. When we are all gone lol. And hasbro is liars. Lego and even fortnite have marvel and dc at the same time.
Mafex might have a diaper but at least the figure still poses. None of Todd’s fingers would be able to do a crouching Spider-Man pose. That is a good point with fortnite and Lego but I feel like those are so multi brand that it’s not the same.
I think Hasbro is doing a pretty good job. I personally would love to see McFarlane make marvel figure like marvel select but I want them to do it like early years of Marvel select so e.g. Black cat and Elektra. So a character with not much articulation but has some basic ones but loaded with detail and accessories and accurate to the source material

I predict Star Wars goes to McFarlane, Marvel Stays with Hasbro +gains D.C. Hasbro will start doing Marvel vs D.C. two packs, to get fans to buy them, that way Marvel fans, will become D.C. fans and vice-versa
As they stated, that would be a conflict of interest so they aren't allowed to have the DC and marvel figures. McFarlane only got marvel license for statues and he said when he announced them that he would not be doing marvel action figures.
By and large, Marvel Legends are terrible and over priced. Many of the action figure reviewers rate them very poorly. The proportions and constant reuse of the same parts lower the standard far too much. Your personal feelings about McFarlane himself obviously color your opinions. I would be far more likely to spend my cash on a McFarlane product than a Hasbro item.
Our personal thoughts on McFarlane is the only thing that makes us still consider collecting from him. Objectively his sculpting is better, legends articulation is better. I have a lot more fun opening a legend than I do a McFarlane. Every time.

Why would they put work into releases 2 years in advance if they thought they were going to lose the license? Also they just started a new wave with Secret Wars and only have 2 waves of X-men 97'. My prediction is that they turf Star Wars because it's toy line is basically dead and keep Marvel because they are firing on on cylinders currently and that helps all parties involved.
I think Hasbro will keep Marvel but just because they are working on 2026 doesn't mean they for sure will. It takes them a year or more to get a figure out. so if the license comes up to be renewed this year, they still have to be planning as if they'll keep the line because otherwise they would have a year long gap in figures coming out. Also just starting sub lines like Secret Wars and 2 waves of xmen really doesn't show they'd keep anything because as someone else mentions with Power Rangers they didn't finish all the teams they started and still ended those.
Toy companies plan at least a year or two ahead regardless of the license renewal, this is just how the industry works because it takes a long time to make them especially at the quantity Hasbro usually produce.
Dc universe claasics had the magic to me that marvel legends have. Unfortunately mcfarlane just hasnt replicated that feeling for me..
Dc classics was my minds eye of what the characters should look like but if you made them with better articulation that would be amazing.

Mcfarlane’s DC figs arent statues. You can get them into any pose most Legends figs can get into. He’s made huge improvements in articulation. The line has made a turn a year or so back and were getting classic looks, deep cuts, and even deeper cuts. DC isnt changing companies. There are 500 figures and tons more coming out. Id prefer if everything stayed where theyre at because I dont want to start over if the new company doesnt stay consistent. Id be fine with Mcfarlane if he got it since I prefer his DC style but that would still mean starting over.
sure they can pose but they don't look half as good as Marvel Legends. With those diapers you can forget about anything close to a crouched pose. slight step forward and a lifted arm is about as much as you'll get. The sculpting I will say though is better than most Legends.

Both Mcfarlane and marvel legends have really upped their game in the last year. I think McFarlane has really dialed into fans wants with more classic versions of characters and upping their game with softgoods
I’d love to see Hasbro get the 6 inch DC license and then be restricted to say classic interpretations up through say 2004 but nothing truly modern; that would stay with McFarlane. I’d love to have DC legends that scaled with my marvel legends and had marvel legends level articulation.

I can see Hasbro farming their kid lines to Spin Master or whatever. I doubt they'd give up Legends. I think Legends has been much better with the drawdown of MCU stuff which clogged up shelves, etc.

They arent working well together. Star Wars sits in stores and none of the shows have an audience. Marvel is in the same boat. Deadpool 3 was an anomaly.
I totally agree with the opinion that I would rather see a Hasbro version of DC characters rather than a McFarlane style Marvel line. That being said, in the same way that Diamond Select makes Marvel 7" figures and Hasbro makes 6" Marvel, why couldn't we have McFarlane continue to do 7" DC and let someone like Hasbro or Jada Toys do 6" DC characters? Seems like a no brainer, and I would LOVE to have some 6" DC characters.
Hasbro has had the marvel legends line so long it would suck for McFarland to get line especially how far Hasbro took line so far with great looking figures and awesome actuation and in 6" scale

Hasbro losing Legends would be bad, but like everything else it can always get worse. In this case it would be MidFarlane getting the license, as it would just be Toy Biz 2.0- Ugly sculpts, terrible proportions, limited articulation, and atrocious faces.

I think they were amazing for launching the line. The vale was incredible. But comparing them to today’s figures you pretty much kidding yourself if you think the ToyBiz version is better.

Never in a million years did I think McFarlane would do Marvel products while Hasbro still having the Marvel license, so anything is possible, with that being said, for me if McFarlane kept DC Direct line at 7 inch and statues and Hasbro got a small portion of DC 6 inch, Hasbro keeps the Marvel Legends 6 inch and McFarlane continues the Marvel statues or something in between those lines, there are plenty of fans on both ends and everyone would be happier.

I don't think anything is going to change with any of the lines/companies but hasbro doing DC would be cool but idk that they could keep up with doing DC and ML. And yes Jada is amazing but no way could they keep up with the demand and production of a big line. The can barely get out a figure or two per month. I wouldn't mind seeing DC go back to Mattel, I think they did a great job when they did DC. Either way, I'm sticking with Mafex for my marvel and DC figures, slowly replacing my ML and DC Multiverse as they release good figures.
I would like to see some more DC figures like the DC Classics but with more Hasbro articulation. I think I'd still rather see Jada do 2-4 DC figures per year. I agree WB would probably want to be pumping out figures a lot faster.

Marvelous News announced yesterday that the Marvel Legends team has confirmed that they're working on projects that will release thru 2026.
that doesn't really show they will for sure keep a the brand. They have to plan ahead either way. It takes a year or more to get a figure out. That doesn't stop any brand from losing a line unfortunently.
From a business perspective, licensing a brand always has two aspects: On the one hand simply the license fees, but on the other hand also the desire to achieve marketing effects for your own branded products through the licensed products. Those are - for Disney/Marvel - films and comics, both of which are very neglected by Hasbro, who at least today is above all recreating old toylines and makes figures from video games or comics from the 90s and before. Those have only minor marketing effects for Disney (apart from some omnibus reprints of older comics). In terms of films and shows you have to notice: Too little, too late and with a bad flair (f.e. a whole wave for Eternals and Ant Man 3, not a single figure for GotG holiday special, one side charakter for Werewolf by Night A YEAR LATER, D&W four months later). Thus might make Disney reconsider either if Hasbro is still the right licensing partner or the amount of license fees (since the missing marketing effects have to be recouped through the fees), which in turn could be the straw that breaks the camel's back for Hasbro.
On the other hand the things You are discussing like soft goods, posability etc. is unlikely to be a consideration for Disney/Marvel with regard to the question of licensing. In the end it's only economics.
very true. I feel like marvel overall needs a better direction for blending comics and movies and then for that to trickle into figures.
My only problem with another company doing DC is that at least McFarlane does a lot of modern stuff which i am a fan of. I'm pretty positive that the new company would start out with your typical "classic" designs for characters which I'm not a fan of.

About DC license still goes to Mcfarlane on the 7 inch scale but same there give the DC moviebase toys license to another company. But 1/12(6inch) scale on comicbookscale I would love to see Hasbro do DC comicbookbase figures or Jada toys does them with vehicle and all.

Great show guys - and an interesting topic. This Marvel (aka Disney) license issue is a topic way too complex for me to obtain any subjectable opinion on it. Simply, I don't have enough information yet. However the Hasbro ML fans claiming they don't want to re-purchase previous characters have not seen the forest through the trees. What is Hasbro ML renown for (or some say infamous for)? Redoes. Hasbro CEO Chris Cox has mentioned in many interviews that he would like to sell off the toy manufacturing division of Hasbro to concentrate on digital platforms like D&D. All in all this to say, Hasbro may retain the Disney license however I foresee them licensing out to third parties stuff like Marvel Legends. This may not occur overnight yet it is likely.
I can see why they would want to give up toys and switch to digital. I doubt the adult collector base is as lucrative as what could be done in the digital world.

If this speculative rumor is true. I hope if anyone gets the DC and Marvel license it would be Jada. They seem to get the right level of sculpt, paints, hands, heads and accessories. The plastic quality feels better than Hasbro or Mcfarlane. I highly doubt they would take that on but it’s my fan cast. Also, I doubt either IP is going to change hands.

If it were up to me - Hasbro retains Marvel. We're so deep into the line now, it would be a shame not to finish off rosters and rogues galleries. Keep Legends Hasbro. McFarlane on the other hand...I'd LOVE if they lost DC and it went to someone else, something that matches Legends more. I really, really wish Hasbro could do DC...but sadly, can't. But I want Legends style DC so bad. I DO want McFarlane to at least finish off all the movie Batman's, though. If they lose it BEFORE they do the Burton Batman films, I'll be livid. Jack Joker, Devito Penguin, Pfiffer Catwoman. This seems like the majority take too: Keep Marvel at Hasbro. Change DC, but not before McFarlane finishes a few things. I'd also like to see McFarlane at least complete all the classic Batman rogues and JLA/JSA members. Basically, what I want from DC is DC Universe Classics but modern engineering. I want a CLASSIC line centered around the most ICONIC costumes, McFarlane focuses WAY too much on modern, but modernized with Legends quality, alt. parts, accessories, effects, and articulation..

I think Hasbro and McFarlane kinda represent marvel and DC well. Hasbro has a pretty face but lots of rehashing. Which is understandable. DC comics often try and copy Marvel but fall short and it all looks a little disjointed.
I collect both. I'm a silver age comic person with a pinch of bronze age. With Marvel, I tend to like the more flat and less painted bodies cos that's how they looked back than. Not overly detailed costume wise. So I appreciate them focusing on head sculpts. Hasbro just need to up their game with accessory packs and more world building sets of thugs and cops etc...

As much as I have a few DC multiverse figures I would love them in 6inscale to go with legends however I feel a Mcfarlene toys main business is DC so can't see him wanting to let the license go

There 8 bit line is very nice. There's a few others I wanna get but scalpers are charging ridiculous money for the xenomorph 8-bit and predator 8 bit

I really wish they could do both. But i think i'd be happiest with Hasbro keeping Marvel and Jada getting DC for 6 inch figures. they would still fit well together. I do like that Todd is doing soft goods wired capes on the figures now but i just don't normally love the figures those capes are on.

Marvel has benefited since for the most part havent in last year or so been forced to produce much MCU crap since Covid and strikes and other delays put movies in serious delays, If Disney starts releasing a ton of movies again will get stuck having to devote a ton of waves and resources into MCU Crap that just sits until hits clearance
I feel like as much as people complain about getting a bunch of spiderman and wolverine figures from marvel all star wars makes is Luke, Mando and like 2 other figures.
Hooefully Hasbro keeps Marvel and gets DC, Mcfarlane sucks and i just get depressed just thinking he has a 1% chance of getting the Marvel license

I get why people would want change but sadly it doesn’t mean it will be better. I don’t care for mcfarlane though. So many bad designs and they can’t get simple things like the face right on so many figures.
It seems like DC Multiverse has good ideas but they seem to always miss the mark.

If Spin Master could get the Multiverse line it would be much better especially with their 6inch PlayStation figures.

I think you're right on Todd being able to crush it with Star Wars. But like I said in the video, i think Todd could also crush it with SOME Marvel figures. He'd do an amazing Ghost Rider, Blade, Cable and figures like that. But you're right about Spiderman. Figures like him, Wolverine, pretty much any female figure, or full spandex figure would look doo doo.

McFarlane would be horrible hope and predict they stay with hasbro. But if they absolutely had to leave I prefer maybe Neca getting the marvel legends
oh man. We hadn't even considered NECA but i feel like that's almost worst than Todd. I know Jordan likes his NECA monsters but I only reluctantly collect the Gargoyles line. I feel like they cost quite a bit and the posablilty is no better than Todd's figures.
@ yeah I collect turtles from Neca but I hate the pin joints on Todd’s and they all look weird to me, price isn’t a factor to me as long as they look amazing I mean unless its Mafex price then forget it.

Wish I was on here. Spiderman basically have a diaper already with mafex that no one complains about. And yes. Mcfarlane stuff is always under the same sku. I look up the newest figure and it says it's in stock, in reality it's the old figure in stock. And yep. Todd black heart would be accurate. Issue is you won't get the definitive versions of marvel characters from Todd. Until maybe years later. When we are all gone lol. And hasbro is liars. Lego and even fortnite have marvel and dc at the same time.
Mafex might have a diaper but at least the figure still poses. None of Todd’s fingers would be able to do a crouching Spider-Man pose. That is a good point with fortnite and Lego but I feel like those are so multi brand that it’s not the same.
Hasbro I'm tired of them. You got a whole universe of characters and still get 5 6 Spiderman come on

Yeah i think 5 Spiderman figures which i think isn't that bad when you compare it to the 100 other characters they put out.
I think Hasbro is doing a pretty good job. But McFarlane needs to be fired those stupid ankle & wrist pegs, the diaper issues and OMG the wide-stance legged stands his figures have nobody stands like that and his QC paint issues are awful. and this weird obsession with figures being 7" wtf😖 😂😢Todd needs to go.
Marvel legends fans do know how good they have had it the past 10 years. its just entitlement
collectors will always complain but Marvel Legends has been objectively doing amazing this year.

McFarlane articulation sucks please no. Hasbro should keep it or give it to mafex and mafex drops prices or give it to ct toys.
I personally would love to see McFarlane make marvel figure like marvel select but I want them to do it like early years of Marvel select so e.g. Black cat and Elektra. So a character with not much articulation but has some basic ones but loaded with detail and accessories and accurate to the source material
that's true. We didn't talk about Diamond Select not keeping Marvel. That would be interesting to see McFarlane do the 7 inch scale figures.
Hasbro would be stupid to lose marvel and Star Wars and I can’t imagine buying them from another manufacturer. However, DC needs to drop McFarlane, their figures are crap

Not interested if mcfarlane get marvel 7 inches figures🤮, Hasbro should keep Marvel. As for Star wars i think Disney is pushing Hasbro the selection of characters they need to release, i don't hate black series but if they would release more characters from the extended univers instead of the crapy ones from the horrible Disney bs is producing it would be better, but Disney pretty much destroyed that franchise anyway.
I predict Star Wars goes to McFarlane, Marvel Stays with Hasbro +gains D.C.
Hasbro will start doing Marvel vs D.C. two packs, to get fans to buy them, that way Marvel fans, will become D.C. fans and vice-versa
that would be amazing but I find it hard to believe that the 2 companies (Disney and WB) allow their characters to coexist in the same package.
As they stated, that would be a conflict of interest so they aren't allowed to have the DC and marvel figures. McFarlane only got marvel license for statues and he said when he announced them that he would not be doing marvel action figures.
By and large, Marvel Legends are terrible and over priced. Many of the action figure reviewers rate them very poorly. The proportions and constant reuse of the same parts lower the standard far too much. Your personal feelings about McFarlane himself obviously color your opinions. I would be far more likely to spend my cash on a McFarlane product than a Hasbro item.
Our personal thoughts on McFarlane is the only thing that makes us still consider collecting from him. Objectively his sculpting is better, legends articulation is better. I have a lot more fun opening a legend than I do a McFarlane. Every time.
