There are few major points here- first: Russia will not suffer without these assets- it's being living fine 2 years without access to those, Second: those will not help to Ukraine: damage to Ukrainian economy, society, industry, is many orders higher than the value of these assets. Third- the whole world economy is based on respect of contract. Braking that principal will end- up US and European banking system (it's already happening anyway). All these emotionally damaged pro-Ukrainian "experts" will immediately reconsider their point of view when US and west will get back to Russia after war is over and there is no legal entity to receive these compensation.

I don't have any problems with respecting international law. Just that it should be applied equally to everyone, americans included. Only then will the west be seen as being genuin in its actions.

If the United States shifts frozen Russian assets to Ukraine, it would be cataclysmic for the US Dollar's status as the global reserve currency, says Nobel Prize winning Yale professor, Robert Shiller.
"If America does this to Russia today… then tomorrow it can do this to anyone," he told Italian news outlet La Repubblica in an interview published Sunday.

The first country Hilter went to, to confiscate state assets was Austria. You are advocating violating international law the same as Hitler did. Shame on you - that is not the legal order our ancestors fought to defeat in Europe. I studied law in Vienna and there is no law for the theft of state assets like you propose in Austria or anywhere else.

Hitler was attempting to gain access to Caspian Oil Fields.
The USA now seems to want all Russian Oil Production infrastructure.
      But I could be wrong.
Hitler was taught a Harsh Lesson in 1945.
The USA seems to be a Slow Learner?

For all those who support the confiscation - does this apply to American assets too?
Are countries free to seize American assets for the illegal invasion and destruction of Iraq?
Let me guess - "THAT'S DIFFERENT!!!"

can you convince someone to do it and face the consequences? If so go right ahead. You are pretending that russia didnt confiscate hundreds of planes and assets from us. Spare me the lecture.

@@MrRoyalbeers The USA declared Economic War on Russia in the late 1990's.
The apparent majority of resources available on the Planet,
indicates the USA is not a Nation that is committed to Free Trade?
The US seems to only offer their considered price,
for the resources of their former Colonies,
the one that seems to be so close to zero,
that it is difficult to define the difference.
The US appears to have already lost the Economic War?

@@MrRoyalbeers so your argument is that no one will dare, because the US is a tеrrorist state and will proceed to attack any country that would?
      Thanks for confirming.
Morоn, Russia confiscated the planes? Really?
There was a binding lease agreement. Russia didn't confiscate the planes, Russia was ready and willing to pay. Your government blocked the payment in dollars. Russia offered to compensate in roubles, with company could have exchanged for dollars in minutes. Your government banned the companies from "bypassing sanctions".
And if you are going to make claims get your head out of your аss and keep up with the news - Russia did figure out to pay off the companies in dollars and all the planes have been bought out.
So I'll ask again - is there one international law that should be applied to all the counties, or is the tеrrorist US has the right to invade and genocide millions of innocent civilians without repercussions?

Assume UKR loses its gov't so the restoration is of mainly military targets thus need no reconstruction.
To demand reconstruction of civilian areas implies Israel set aside billions to reconstruction jthose destroyed by warcrimes.
Fine by me if the issue of military use, noting UKR preferred takeovers of civilian bldgs don't get restored by RUS, they also are UKR liabilities.
Knowing this won't happen is depressing, seeing finally Europe is in WW3 at this time, why not blow the Transatlantic cables ?
Hire a party boat & 6-crew to do the deed of greed & disruption ?
    Incredible lose of sanity.
    Thx, good views 🥂

The only issue that should be established is the principle of UNIVERSAL APPLICATION of compensation-consequences for loss of life and damages against any sovereign state that initiates an illegal unprovoked war of aggression! Wouldn't be surprising if none of the parties would agree to this rather simple principle.

"Nemo plus juris transfereat quam ipse habet" in Latin, which translates to "No one can transfer more rights than he himself has" in English. This principle is rooted in both Latin and American law, emphasizing that a person cannot transfer or delegate more authority or power than they themselves possess. Thus it's illegal and embezzlement and misappropriation of funds which is a felony.

"Ukranian law expert" says this confiscation is completley legitimate.🤣Trust him!😂
EU and the US will face much more serious economic problems.
