The extremely tight supplies of Star Wars and One Piece are probably holding both games back at this point, especially One Piece. I think all of the games on this list could easily last 5 more years, but beyond that it's hard to say. The track record of FaB and its slower release schedule will definitely be advantages in the long-term.
True, the games you mentioned sell out in the blink of an eye, and FAB continues to set the standard for how a new game should react to the market and it's playerbase
One piece is readily available at my lgs but at higher prices than msrp. It's like $190 a box for 06, $260 a box for 05 and the community is growing. I've been into yugioh, pokemon, one piece, lorcana, MtG but going to check out FaB as the prices seem more reasonable
The one reason why i havent started playing One Piece is because of the huge money hurdle. There was an admiral deck my friend let me use when he was teaching me how to play and after hearing the price, it was an immediate turn off. I played yugioh before, im not gonna play another game just because theres no balancing/rotation when thats the cause of overpriced cards.

When a new hero is announced, the cards used by this hero class will see their prices increase dramatically. Playing FaB is expensive and it is very frustrating for a new player to see the hero they invested so much time and money in going LL after just a few months - thinking about Kayo of course, even though he's not LL yet. Is getting marvels of your favorite hero really worthwhile considering the fact that prices will drop immediately after that hero goes LL? LSS needs to find the right compromise between players and collectors to keep the game healthy, I really want this game to last for as long as possible.
The game is healthy as it is, collectors have CF legendaries, extended arts, fabled and marvels. Let the players play with the cards and the meta decided the value of a card meant to be play. IMO the bad side of LSS/FaB is the products they sell, outside of the boxes, the blitz decks and now the Armory decks (with low supply), there is not enough variaty of producs for different kinds of people and for all budgets.

FFG now is not the same FFG it was 2 years ago. Ownership is different, leadership is different, the design teams are different, the OP teams are different and the media teams are different. I was very hesitant to buy into SWU but after learning this, and the quality of the game, I have no hesitation.
@@lightgames7474I've been burned by FFG too many time to put any money into their games anymore, I hope it ends up sticking around though from what I hear the game's good.
Lorcana looks really cool. It’s like magic but an interesting twist. Even my local game stores have started hosting Star Wars. One piece and Digimon are surprisingly big in my area. One piece slowly seems to be taking over Digimon tho.
One piece in my area is the biggest. They’ve got the highest tournament attendance. We’ve got a planetary qualifier coming up with over 100 players which has blown my mind. This game is catching up to one piece around here. Lorcana stores fire events but game is a little too simple imo. Flesh and blood I wish would grow. Nobody knows about grand archive but my brother and I have started to play it some. Really excited for it. I plan on traveling to a lot of events next year.
Its taken awhile but it really feels like companies have a grip on making strong marketable and sustainable card games. Tournament support dev transparency and online resources are at an all time high. Out of the 5 you put up there Ive only really dabbled in fab and grand archive cuz one piece gameplay is a bit too similar to other games Ive tried and I just haven't had a chance to check out the star wars game. I disagree with people who say digimon should have been here, its doing very well with what it has but its not making the splash these 5 games have been for various reasons (time, support, etc) but its an incredibly unique game that's a great product for the ip.
I would like to see a video about Lorcana. I personally am not interested in playing but I would be interested in seeing the expectations vs reality of the game Flesh and Blood and Grand Archive are my favs at the moment!
FAB and One Piece for me. FAB i tried cos imo it's the best card game out there, and One Piece, because I grew up with it. I am 31, and have been following one piece for 20 years now. When I saw a card game it was only logical to try it out. I had lots of fun with it, and my local community for one piece is big, so I picked it up. I am biased, but between FAB's organised play plan I believe in, and as you yourself said, the fact that One Piece already kinda becomes the "big 4th" making the big 3 big 4, I believe both of the games I play are here to stay!
I'm very hesitant about the Star Wars TCG, and that's because of FFG's track record. They tend to release a great release & 1st expansion, but starts power creeping the crap out of and destroying the game 2nd expansion on. I love FaB & Grand Archive, though!
I have been playing OP since it came out but I wish they slow down on the set releases, we are seeing up to 5 sets per year with special releases, that is every 2 1/2 months. people trying to get cards for the first month and practice with it and when you think you are ready to use the deck you put together is already unplayable lol. Maybe 3 releases per year will be good.
@@DMArmada doesn't seem like it lol. I usually skip one set since I can't keep up with the releases and the prices are very high the first 2 months after the release
I mentioned alpha clash briefly in the video, and I'm pretty neutral on Digimon ATM. It has continued to sell consistently but very rarely played at the LGS's is in my area
Id say lorcana is in the big guys court right now judging by personnal experiance. With the big 3 its the only game avaiable to all 3 lgs in my area. All others sucha as onepiece or digimon skip one or two of the lgs. Also its everywhere, book store, music store, non tcg lgs and many more carie this game and rarely any other.

The seller mentioned that they come from China which is a big red flag for me also. Like I said, they’re cool looking cards and I’m interested, butI’m kinda only interested in licensed product
The TCG/CCG's I'm casually, currently playing are Digimon, Cardfight Vanguard & Redemption. I honestly have no interest in getting involved in other card games right now, it starts to get expensive.
can anyone actually question the longevity of One Piece??? One of the most investable/collectable card games to be released recently. I think people recognize that value. Most memorable characters and nostalgic factor. This will have a large player base regardless
Hi DM, congratulations on your channel, let me tell you a story, I am a HUGE fan of Star wars so when I went to my local game store to learn how to play I was very impressed with the game and I love it, but... Is more strategic than I thought and a little heavier for my family and friends, the player community of unlimited is very small in my area. So, that same day one of the guys that teache me Unlimited was going to take a how to play Lorcana from another group in the store so I decided to stay, and we played Lorcana, easy, fast and most important FUN, my family loved it, my friends loved it. And I will play Unlimited but just my deck probably 2 and that´s it, our main TCG will be lorcana, I have 3 decks so far, Hades titans. Hades green and 101 puppies, so yes I believe is going to be for long term game. Thanks for reading.
I am an avid One Piece player, love playing it at my local LGS and while I really like Flesh and Blood, it doesn't seem to have a big following locally. I dabbled in Lorcana and while it felt fine, it just didn't hook me and make me yearn for that perfect build or to crack packs. Star Wars looks like fun in how it plays but the product is like One Piece, near non-existent which gives me little desire to chase it. I am looking forward to trying out Altered when it releases and I also enjoy playing the new Dragon Ball Fusion World but it shares the Bandai curse, finding product is a game of hide-and-seek.
So, I played Flesh and Blood and still play Lorcana and One Piece. In my opinion Lorcana is the best game of these three with the crucial downside that is still has no organized play. That's why I mostly play One Piece at the moment. It has more players and regular events. But I'm hyped for when Ravensburger at last gets their s**t together... 😊
Played FaB for a while. Community was nice but also very try hard. Couldnt really build a fun deck because everybody only wanted to play meta decks. Also the cost to invest in it is already too much to get the cards you need for competitive. Im into both Lorcana and SWU now and i got in when they both came out so i can grow with the game and hopefully get value out of early cards when later sets release. p.s. Feel like Digimon has a bigger following than Grand Archive personally. Never heard of that game before this video.
As a content creator of One piece card game from brazil i can say that The game is taking brazil out!!! But i'm enjoying Fab a lot for two reasons: here in brazil its easy to find and cheap!!
Are we only talking new card games? cause if not Pokemon will probably stay top 1. This thing is a juggernaut and the kids still love it. Maybe One Piece has the potential to surpass it one day but I doubt it.

completely disagree with Grand Achieve, the player base will ruin this game. I play it competitively and the prices that people try to get are absolutely delusional. And I will agree even though i hate the show, but one piece seems to be really holding strong. Flesh and blood is a solid game but just lacks something a little more immersive.
Agree prices are pretty ludicrous at the moment. I think there's a lot of people out there sitting and hoarding cards and putting out singles. That might just be a symptom of being a less mature market but hopefully that improves in the future.
Bro ive played the “big 3” extensively. One Piece is by far the most fun TCG I’ve ever played and it’s NOTHING to do with the IP. You are underselling it massively here - the game itself is why it’s so successful. The game rocks!
I want to like FaB. But the learning curve is steep, deckbuilding is extremely limited (pick a hero and the deck practically builds itself), and it's getting way too expensive to build competitive decks.
digimon tcg also had potential next year go for 5th year and unification release set english and JP cant wait share gameplay with jp and english version.... also ultraman tcg also otw
I think the biggest turn off from this list, altough all amazing games and i totally agree with your view on them (specially flesh and blood), is about mainly One piece. OPTCG biggest problem is the lack of supplies, specially in my country, since jp cards are banned in locals and regionals and english packs are so hard to find now

Have tried to dive into other games, but there just isn’t enough time or money😭. Flesh and Blood is such a difficult game it’s taking more time than I have already. Trying to get better and collect all the cards for just that game is overwhelming. Love Star Wars gameplay and IP. Tried Lorcana briefly and had fun, ultimately being impossible to get the first set turned me away early. Grand Archive seems like a fun game haven’t tried it. Liked art and gameplay of Alpha Clash. Haven’t tried or been interested in One Piece. Keep getting sidetracked from trying Sorcery. Almost got sucked back into Pokémon. If I had endless money and time I’d play and collect more😭
Idk about Grand Archive. I don't see a lot of anything about it online and most of the LGS's near me have dropped it already. And while they aren't likely to be the next Pokemon or MtG, I think Mythik TCG and Nostalgix are great smaller games to look into!
The extremely tight supplies of Star Wars and One Piece are probably holding both games back at this point, especially One Piece. @@CommissionerManu yes
@@IanM92 awesome, I thought their business model was, but seeing you not mention them had me asking haha. How do you find those other games by the way? I’m way more interested in exploring newer ideas, creativity and small businesses, especially when they learn so much from what’s come before like FaB did
@@CommissionerManu did my reply send? It was quite long. But it’s not showing it sent on my end
@@IanM92 sorry mate, I can’t see anything other than the message asking if your reply sent. Sounds like you put some effort in as well, I appreciate it anyway
Never trust FFG.
FFG now is not the same FFG it was 2 years ago. Ownership is different, leadership is different, the design teams are different, the OP teams are different and the media teams are different. I was very hesitant to buy into SWU but after learning this, and the quality of the game, I have no hesitation.
@@lightgames7474 hard pass for me. I loved them pre asmodee. Got my name in a few of their games and did podcasts but fool me three times and byyeee.
Rip The Game of Thrones card game o7
@DrMocktopus1 For sure. I'm holding out slim hope that with the expanded universe, and success of SWU, that they'll revisit that at some point.
Since One Piece released i have found 8 packs in stores or my lcs. The scalping is unreal on them
Where's digimon, dragon ball super, and cardfight? I haven't even heard of some of these
what about altered tcg?
I personally am not interested in playing but I would be interested in seeing the expectations vs reality of the game
Flesh and Blood and Grand Archive are my favs at the moment!
100% agree
@@Electro-nics ouch, that's painful... Are they lowering the release cadence?
@@DMArmada doesn't seem like it lol. I usually skip one set since I can't keep up with the releases and the prices are very high the first 2 months after the release
As someone who has been looking to diversify my game pool, this video was perfect.
Thank you!
how about Digimon?
Alpha Clash?
I mentioned alpha clash briefly in the video, and I'm pretty neutral on Digimon ATM. It has continued to sell consistently but very rarely played at the LGS's is in my area
@@DMArmada how's your personal review on Alpha Clash?
Id say lorcana is in the big guys court right now judging by personnal experiance. With the big 3 its the only game avaiable to all 3 lgs in my area. All others sucha as onepiece or digimon skip one or two of the lgs. Also its everywhere, book store, music store, non tcg lgs and many more carie this game and rarely any other.
I really like FaB and SVE!
Any sorcery fans out there??
I'm a hater. Does that count?
I'm in a bubble with the sorcery fans so mind telling me why you hate it?
@@MrRayRockstar I was originally not that interested in sorcery but once I started collecting and even playing I’ve been absolutely hooked like no other tcg so far! It’s all personal preference! But I do like the way the company is being run also which is reassuring for its future (hopefully!)
@@udoaver9726 only 12 more weeks until AL my friend!
Has anybody heard of these Dragon Ball 40th anniversary jump box card sets? I saw a few of them and they look pretty cool but I’m worried that they’re not licensed. The seller mentioned that they come from China which is a big red flag for me also. Like I said, they’re cool looking cards and I’m interested, butI’m kinda only interested in licensed product
Sadly FaB is dead at all my local shops 😞 Stuck to purely online and friendlies
The TCG/CCG's I'm casually, currently playing are Digimon, Cardfight Vanguard & Redemption.
I honestly have no interest in getting involved in other card games right now, it starts to get expensive.
Watch as Sorcery surpasses all of them.
@@ShivanAngel15 we shall see! Sorcery knows it's niche well
Sorcery??
can anyone actually question the longevity of One Piece???
One of the most investable/collectable card games to be released recently. I think people recognize that value. Most memorable characters and nostalgic factor. This will have a large player base regardless
I'm sure if you had expanded the list to 6, Genesis would have made the list. :)
Flesh and Blood is legit the best TCG ive every played. insane skill ceiling but easy to pick up. also helps that LSS are an amazing company.
FaB and SWU here. 1V1 duel and frontlines versus. This is the way
Hi DM, congratulations on your channel, let me tell you a story, I am a HUGE fan of Star wars so when I went to my local game store to learn how to play I was very impressed with the game and I love it, but...
Alpha Clash is another good game its been trending up for a year straight now. With a board game coming in the fall
Digimon TCG?? It literally plays just like One Piece (both are made by Bandai) and has a dedicated fan base as well as good sales numbers.
Ya, but I just amazed by One piece art work on the Card's ❤❤❤
So,
I played Flesh and Blood and still play Lorcana and One Piece.
In my opinion Lorcana is the best game of these three with the crucial downside that is still has no organized play. That's why I mostly play One Piece at the moment. It has more players and regular events. But I'm hyped for when Ravensburger at last gets their s**t together... 😊
In my opinion non of these games will be there in 10 years from now. Especially Disney´s Lorcana and Grand Archive.
I don’t even think Grand archive will survive another couple years. Nobody plays that
Played FaB for a while.
But i'm enjoying Fab a lot for two reasons: here in brazil its easy to find and cheap!!
grand archive seems to not be popular/supported as much in (most of?) EU, even though anime is popular, most anime TCG are not that popular though
The artwork of One Piece cards is top notch as well.
Please give it a digital version ;-;
I only play magic and the rts like sorcery TCG, tho one piece looks fun
Are we only talking new card games? cause if not Pokemon will probably stay top 1. This thing is a juggernaut and the kids still love it. Maybe One Piece has the potential to surpass it one day but I doubt it.
Game?
Got my eye on the new TCG Neverrift on Kickstarter
Alpha Clash TCG is so huge in the Philippines!
Marching towards the future of FaB takeover 💪
Bro optcg just two year coming and become dark horse of tcg.
@@Asteroid-Destroyer-b4h if you're referring to one piece, there is no way that that is the dark horse of TCGs. It is one of the top four in the world!
My main game is Star Wars Unlimited. So much fun! Set 3 is releasing soon! I also purchased some Blitz decks for FaB, after hearing so much praise for that game.
Renaissance of TCGs?? HAHAHHAA
completely disagree with Grand Achieve, the player base will ruin this game.
Yes, Grand Archive is just the best truly all-round TCG in all aspects, compared with all the other TCG`s, go figure..
I wish exodus tcg came back
I think the biggest turn off from this list, altough all amazing games and i totally agree with your view on them (specially flesh and blood), is about mainly One piece. OPTCG biggest problem is the lack of supplies, specially in my country, since jp cards are banned in locals and regionals and english packs are so hard to find now
Flesh and blood is the top TCG out there
Star Wars unlimited is #2
Lorcana is awesome ❤
I love Flesh and Blood, but someday it will be sold.
Here's hoping it's 20 years from now
One of the saddest games that actually got ripped off mostly by Lorcana and then altered is Keyforge. That game should have stuck!
You're missing digimon there.
DM i know you think Sorcery is a board game, and not a TCG, but i disagree and think it has a brighter future than everything on this list save for FAB and SWU.
To each their own, and I'm a fan of Sorcery as well! I just don't see it having the same impact from a gameplay perspective as a TCG in the space
3 months is too long but 4 months isnt? I don’t understand.
I meant to say 3 months was too short 😅
Altered TCG!
Sad to not see final fantasy tcg on here :(
Have tried to dive into other games, but there just isn’t enough time or money😭. If I had endless money and time I’d play and collect more😭
One piece is really good but it’s not played anywhere near me.
Same with Lorcana
And flesh and blood
Pokémon it is
Idk about Grand Archive. I don't see a lot of anything about it online and most of the LGS's near me have dropped it already.
And while they aren't likely to be the next Pokemon or MtG, I think Mythik TCG and Nostalgix are great smaller games to look into!
bandai cant even handle a card game theyll drop the ball with OP eventually
