hi i have downloaded whatsapp before then i deleted am i still able to do it or do i have to factory reset my phone?

To people who can't get it to work, make sure that you don't log in to whatsapp right after the transfer is complete, check your notifications for a loading bar that says "Organising your transferred data" and wait for that to finish and then log in to whatsapp otherwise the import chat screen probably won't appear, just managed to do it on my second try after I didn't wait for the first time.
When did you insert the SIM card from the iPhone into the Samsung? I only have 1 SIM card but I'm starting to wonder if, for this tutorial, you need two different SIM cards? Still haven't figured it out yet :(

instead of formatting your phone, you can uninstall whatsApp and uncheck the checkbox that pops up about keeping data and configuration information. thanks for the videos dude

2022 and still no progress... That's why I love Telegram. Just log in and that's it. I don't get why it has to be this difficult.. They own FB Messenger, same technique as Telegram, cloud based chats. It's that effin' simple.. 😩

I had to get a USB-C to lightning cable for this and I’m just so glad it worked. I have all my chats on my A22!
may I ask, should we get a usb cable for this? what if we uninstall whatsapp on iphone and just install it on android, does the chat remained?
@@sitiaishah7544 Hello, yes I had to get a USB-C to lightning cord (to connect my iphone to my Samsung). I didn’t delete WhatsApp on iphone until I was done. Just follow the guide in the video, you’ll get it. But I found that the USB-C to lightning cable/cord aided easy transfer. Thank you.
It really seemed like nothing was going to work and I was going to have to pay $23, and when it didn't say data transfer results with this tutorial I was dissapointed again, but after a while it worked! I cannot express enough how much this helped! Thanks so much!
I noticed I had to uninstall Whatsapp from my S21 beforehand, for Samsung Switch to include that application in the list. After that I followed the instructions and it worked well.
Great news, it means you don't need to reset the Samsung to factory settings, right? Just to completely uninstall Whatsapp

Nice video! But in my situation there are 2 things different:
1 - On the Samsung the QR code screen wasn’t showing, instead a data transfer was started immediately, but that should wait for the iPhone side to have finished.
2 - Opening WhatsApp on the Samsung for the first time after transfer says it’s complete, the “import chat history” screen isn’t showing up, instead I had to enter my name and give WhatsApp access rights and after that the chat overview is completely empty. So where is all the data gone? The transfer took a couple of minutes…
Please advise how to proceed. I have tried it a couple of times, every time reset the Samsung to factory default and do the setup again, resulting in ridiculous waiting times for the WhatsApp verification by sms or phone call. Every time I got a bit further in the transfer process, but now I’m stuck,

Make sure your Android phone's system is up-to-date, I faced the same problem as no QR code shown before I updated the system to Android 12. Try again after you updated your system, hope this helps :)

Thank you very much. Only set of instructions that worked for me. Can't believe how bad the documentation is on Samsung's and Whatsapp's pages. Why can't they make a simple video like yours? And why can't they have better instructions and more detailed verbiage on the Smart Switch and Whatsapp software?
I didn't even have to get the cable, I had an adapter for usb input and usb type-c output and connected that to my lightning cable and it worked!

I think I figured out how to get it to work. Uncheck everything except apps and Click next. Then what's up should show up and you can go to "transfer To android" In your IPhone settings.

At 96% it says device has been disconnected. I tried again and at 93% it says the same. asks me to unplug cable and try again, It has been frustrating but I really need it. Any help ?
Thanks! Like many people said here, this was the only tutorial that worked for me. I had even purchased a professional transfer app, but it was cumbersome and I ended up using the method described on this video.
One pointer for who is trying, I changed the SIM card from iphone to Samsung right after the data was transfered.
It worked near perfectly! The only thing that did not go exactly as described is that the media (pictures and videos) ended up in my phone gallery, in the "recent" folder, which is a little annoying. Anyone knows how to solve this problem? Thanks!

Thanks for this info but i think its critical you explain at what stage you need to move your existing sim card from the apple to the android if you keeping the same cell number.
it doesn't matter. you can have whatsapp on a phone without needing a sim card in the phone. You need a phone to activate it but it doesn't have to be the same phone
@@godlikecat But when you open Wapp on a SIm-less phone it stops you right before you can reach the chat-home screen, making impossible to reach the settings page. At least on Android thats what it happens
What do you mean by change your number on your iPhone before starting the transfer process? Change it to what? I'm moving the SIM from the iPhone to the Samsung. The import chat history failed so not sure if it has anything to do with this

Can you explain what you meant by you have to change the phone number on the iPhone before the transfer? That was not clear to me.
If you want to use a different number on your new phone, do it before you perform the transfer.
What if its same number? Do i need to put it on new phone bfore transfer or leave it aside on old phone??
This could work for any samsung android phone? The iphone charging cable is type c to lightning. Can that cable be used?

I've tried this several times as I am switching from iPhone 5 to a completely fabric reset Samsung galaxy 6. And then once I managed to do this I can bring easily my whatsapp history to my galaxy 10s as I have been using this for a while I don't really wanted to reset it for not losing all what I have done one the past 2 years with my Samsung galaxy 10s. I just want to use this Samsung phone but transferring my WhatsApp is simply not working. Perhaps you might know if transferring from iPhone 5 to samsung galaxy 6 is possible?

It should work on any samsungs right? Like lower modes like s9+ ? Bcoz i heard some say that it has to be the 5g phones that could work from ios to android.

It doesn't need to wipe data. Just delete all data of whatsup. Also you need reopen samsund smart app, to check what data was orginised.
Whatsapp isn't showing in the 'Apps' part of Samsung Switch for me, after having scanned my iPhone via cabled connection. I have Whatsapp installed to the iPhone. After a Factory reset it still doesn't show up... Any ideas? Any help much appreciated
Turns out it doesn't show up there, you have to advance to next screen then it shows all the possible apps to download :)
