God never acts to bring about absolute equality in the bible, nor is it needed in order for people to experience joy. Also, because human beings are not able to magic up the goods they need for their survival, trade of goods from place to place is needed for survival on some level. Even saints need to live. Our focus, however, should not be greedy material gain *in this life.*

Actually, if I remember, it was the people of Israel who *asked* for a king, because they wanted to *be like everybody else.* God was displeased, and gave them Saul; a cowardly king who did evil (I think to try to teach them their lesson, quite honestly.) However, no man has power to take the life of Jesus from him. He laid it down of his own accord, and he had (and exercised) the power to take it up again.
