    I need one that will also do a low simmer without sputtering and going out. I just spent a week in a cabin. I took a generic isobutane stove that boiled water super fast, but I had lots of trouble getting it to simmer for reheating leftovers. I also took along an alcohol burner, but the 99.9% alcohol I took along was extremely sooty. I should have tested the alcohol at home first (I mistakenly thought more pure was better). I do like Fire Maple products.

      Try yellow bottle heet, denatured alcohol, and purell liquid hand sanitizer. There is no soot in these fuels.

    I believe Fire Maple says you should not use the Z1 adapter to run a propane canister with this stove. That is hard to believe. Surely someone has tested this stove with propane. I would sure appreciate your thoughts on this.

    Would love to you use a butane /propane adapter and do a test with a propane bottle. Definitely a great stove and good review

    I wonder if it’s actually designed to be used with small pots. I would imagine the legs would transfer too much heat to the tank to safely be used this way. Especially for longer cooking durations..

    Appears to be quite a bulky stove. Boil test is about the same as other gas burners, i.e., Trangia etc. I like the jacket around the gas cannister, where from? Cheers and thanks for your effort. 🤗

    heavy duty, heavy weight, bulky, ugly. As it was given to you by fire maple you are going to be bias, strange you used a lighter to get it going, why?
    if this was an honest review you would have used the igniter? legs pot stands floppy floppy! you want to open them and for them to stay put not flop about as you place it down, yes it doesn't make much noise on low like all gas cookers turn it up, i was waiting for it to take off. you omitted in your review to how much gas it used! rule of thumb burn hotter and faster eats gas. $89.99 to $114.99! expensive!
    You might not have it in the US but i use Ridge Monkey Quad Connect Fishing Stove Pro Full Kit. use as single burner or plug in second one for duel burners off 1 can of gas, yes it says fishing stove which i use when fishing but also camping, the beauty of this system not only does it have fold down legs! but they adjustable as well! yup adjustable! the fire maple not got that! so this is not all singing and dancing as you make out, just ugly and bulky! why the full metal top? what does it do? apart from add extra weight?
    listening to you describe how you can adjust the flame, like it was something new! you can do that with all gas burners old and new it's nothing special. would i buy it nope, it boils water in just over 2 minutes! water your going to use in a MRE that you got to leave to stand for 4 -5 minutes big deal, I cannot for the life of me understand why Americans are so fixated on boiling water quick when camping, what is it? as long as you got something you can boil water be it twigs, wood, gas, spirit, chips they all do the same thing, what is the fuss all about?

      Look at the boil times! It's solid

    • @mrt7936
      @mrt7936 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jiujitsu2000 yes i saw your stop watch, yes it was fast, no argument there, as i stated at the bottom of my post. It boils water fast so what! is the bulk of it worth it to shave say a minute of boil times when there are other lighter stoves that still boil water? like I said MRE's have still got to stand for 4 -5 minutes before you eat them, they got to rehydrate there is no escaping that waiting time. so i feel this is just a gimmick at most something i suppose you could boast about? like oh hey look i got this thing and i can boil water quicker than you. that is it! there is nothing special about this stove. oh you might say it can hold big pans! and?
      here is what I use:
      Ridge Monkey Quad Connect Fishing Stove Pro Full Kit. that has fold down legs! but you can adjust them for uneven ground, not like the fire maple, they are fixed at one height.
      i got 2 burners running of 1 can of gas, i also have this Ridge Monkey Connect Pan & Griddle XXL Granite Edition, 1 pan but splits into 2, or this Connect Combi & Steamer XXL Granite Edition, and do you know what the beauty of these are? connected together you can heat one side but rather than opening them to flip what ever your cooking, you just flip the pan over and use the other side, now that is innovation, and the best bit they non-stick as well.
