IKR? If she could resent a father who stayed, provided for and educated her because he wasn't "like my grandfather" (that was some bullshyt!), it's scary to think what she'd do to a boyfriend (or a husband) found wanting in a comparison to a man that she *never* even met.

    The guy "$1400.
    The girl "40,000"
The guy "WTF?!?! You have 40G and you've been making me pay for everything. Where'd you get it?"
Girl "My dad gave it to me. You're my boyfriend, you're supposed to pay. It's not my fault you're broke."
Guy "I just payed $400 for our date, and you have 40G?"
    Guy walks away, dumps girlfriend.
This is real. The level of cognitive disconnect and narcissistic self delusion is beyond repair with "modern independent western woman." It affects all races and social/economic levels. It doesn't matter if you go passport, moment she steps into a western country she's already a lost cause. But goddamn, you can feel Kevin's conviction behind those words. He's so fucking spot on. I came from a working class family, but my dad and mom both loved me. They were married their whole lives. Despite my issues, they helped me through highschool, I got through college. Even now I managed to put myself through university now they're gone, and I have an above average job which earns more than my father did. I'll probably even have paid off my house before he did. And at times, I still feel like I was owed something - that they didn't do this right, that right, this was their fault, etc. And I'd rather wallow in what people say I 'should' have got from my parents, rather than acknowledging just how damn good I had it thanks to them.

My ex girlfriend was exactly like this. She had so much hate in her heart and such amount of crazy anger issues in her. She tried to play the victim in literally every argument we had. We use to argue over the dumbest things ever. She had it all. Mom, dad, and a great sister great home, her dad bought her a brand new 2018 Jeep Cherokee. She was going to a private college in LA. I on the other hand. Father in prison, trying to make it right with my mother because of some drama we had when I was younger . I was also raised by grandparents. Both passed away. Doing what I can to make ends meet. I’m glad she broke it off with me because things could of gotten worse by the way I’m listening to this conversation.

What this lady is talking about is a form of parental alienation. My parents divorced when I was four, and our entire life, my mother told us one horror story after another about our father. He was far from perfect, but so was she. It worked, and I've been estranged from my father for over 30 years. In fact, I have no idea if he's alive or dead. He did some pretty messed up stuff, but my mother made sure that we hated him.
I never did, but my sister did. Guess who's the golden child?
What this lady is talking about is really triggering all of those old feelings of resentment and regret. Parental alienation is real, and it's usually the father who is shunned. So sad and effing unfair.

It sounds like her mother is unappreciative of the husband, and this makes the mother angry. The mother then takes those emotions and puts them into the daughter in order to get the daughter to be unappreciative of the father just as much as the mother is. Thus creating an angry unappreciative daughter that will feel this way towards men, and result in the daughter being unconditioned to exist in a healthy relationship with a man.

It’s nothing to take personal. And it doesn’t by any means that you were neglected or lacked anything… Some of these kids that need extra attention wind up needing attention and other help from their parents throughout their adult lives…. Be you and become the you that you want to be, by whatever means appropriate. Don't try to be 'someone' that you think others will like or want to be with. Just. Be. You. YOU will like it and maybe someone you like will also like you, as you. Don't try to manufacture an alternative version of you.
Having said all that... this whole marriage game is heavily tilted against you/us men. If you wanna play, that's up to you, but I hope you heal fast and strong...!
