The internet feels so starved of clam and informational content. THIS is a breath of fresh air! You've made a TH-cam video feel like a podcast and I love it so much. Thank you for info, the inspiration, and a quiet 5 minutes to relax to. Please coordinate a collab with the wonderful Rachel O'leary because you two would be incredible together!
Apparently, before you post a TH-cam video you're supposed to poll everyone as to how they prefer you speak into the microphone, otherwise risk offending many of them. The Internet sure attracts a lot of people who feel the constant need to take a dump on someone else's doorstep. Very nicely produced video.
Not only is the Aquarium a beautiful work of art. The quality of your video is one of the best I've seen when it comes to Aquascaping/Aquarium videos. Fantastic editing and great shots.
It's so refreshing to have an aquarium video where I dont have to turn the audio off from the host yelling at me, or speaking like a damn infomercial! Dont change the relaxed vocals! Thanks!
Really appreciate this kind of video. Good clear information delivered in a calm voice with unobtrusive background music. Please do your substrate comparison video, it's so important to get the substrate right and would be great to see what results you get.
Hmm I see some comments saying negative about your voice.. But I really like your narration!! it is soothing, and not making me anxious like other youtubers
Love the tank and the soft calm content. Very relaxing. I like that you don't use Co2 because I just don't have the time for it and its nice to see planted tanks without it.
Thanks for this. I’ve been obsessively researching before I set up my first proper scape (I’ve kept fish for 30 years but not been a plant enthusiast until recently), and I couldn’t understand why folk use CO2 indefinitely instead of just at the start. Now you’ve shown me that it’s possible, and for me at least, beneficial, to just start it off with CO2 and then wean it. Now I can experiment =)👍
I was all about all fancy and populated aquariums, but from some time I started to appreciate the beauty of these nano aquascapes! I also like the paludariums. Started building some "ecospheres" with local materials, but I feel like I want to step up my game now. I'll be watching your videos and gathering ideas!
I bookmarked this video and I subscribed with alert notifications. It’s just excellent. The tank, the video style, everything about this says education and or relaxation. Thank you.
This is such an excellent video. Especially how you started w/CO2 and then weaned the plants off it. The petrified wood is gorgeous, the soft edges and colors. Thank you.
Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful ! I found my new hobby today and I'm trying to convince myself that this can be done with little maintenance. You my friend, have just opened the rabbit hole :-)
I was wondering why the scape looked familiar, and then you mentioned it was in one of Dustin’s videos. It’s cool to see you made a more detailed video on it.
Love the scape with the petrified wood and of course enhanced by the Espe's! I have the same Dennerle (I'm in Canada) system and agree wholeheartedly with your assessment and recommendation...an excellent tank to scape with that footprint and the light is excellent. I replace the internal filter for a HOB but other than that without CO2, no problems. Thanks again for sharing and keep up the great vids.
I LOVE how you filmed and edited this video. I look forward to watching more content from you! Also I don't find your voice creepy at all! Don't let others discourage you!
This tank reminds me of the landscape up by Sedona. Have a few pieces of petrified rock that now may make it into my ten gallon. Thanks for sharing the details on it.
I really like your videos, I watched the Rachel oleary fish room tour video and was so impressed first with her and her seemingly ceaseless energy and creationism(using that word in my own creative way) but then I was just so taken by the production quality of that video and I've been watching a lot more of your content. I have a busy life and really find it calming to melt into your world, you also have a very relaxing voice.. Anyway keep doing what you're doing it's really awesome and I appreciate it
Amazing tank! One of the best tanks I ever seen! Thank you for sharing. I really enjoyed watching! Cool music too! By the way, the whispering is fine, don’t sweat it!
I appreciated seeing the post-competition tank and how you have kept it thriving. I always wonder how (or if) they hold up in the long run. Most any tank can look fantastic for a few days, but most of us need to create something that will stand the test of time. You know what they say..."Pretty is as pretty does." And this is scape truly "does"!! Also, please ignore the nay-sayers and change nothing regarding your tone and style of commentary. It's so refreshing, allowing the brain to clearly process the information.
Please make a video...on how you weaned it off co2...as this seems to be one of the most key aspects that lead to the success of this tank. A great and honest effort...indeed. Its so refreshing to see someone who actually deacribes in detail on how he actually arrived at such a lovely tank. Your efforts will greatly benefit those who are just getting themselves into this beautiful hobby.
Nicely done. The tank looks great and is very interesting to look at. I as well like the style of your video. Nicely edited, informative, and just pleasant to watch.
Absolutely fantastic! Beautiful scape, great advice, and excellent production values. How did I not know about your channel until now? (Excuse me while I go subscribe and work my way through your other videos.)
Gorgeous aquascape. I love how you used the petrified wood vertically to resemble cliffs. I have lots of pet. wood, but it looks awkward in my tank, never thought to use it this way. I'll definitely be trying it on my next setup. Thank you
Nice tank and nice video. Good shots, good narration and good editing. Seems like you not only know about planted aquariums but you also know about video production. I think I may copy what you've done here (tank, plants, fish and invertebrates) for my first attempt at a planted aquarium.
Hello random person looking at the comments 😊 That is amazing! This is my goal for my aquarium to look very natural... right now I have a better fish in a three gallon but I hope to update the setup to make a nano tank!
Hey there! Corvus Oscen sent me! Your voice is wonderful and video is simply stunning. Keep up the amazing work! I subbed, can't wait to see more videos!
Great video man! Wanted to upgrade my aquarium with live plants and do some aqua scaping on a small tank and your video really helped! So once again thanks!!
Lovely tank, you have given me such inspiration. Restarting a small 6 gallon tank and going thru cycling but am taking my time with the planning of it. I agree about the CO2. It made my plants grow out of control and once I removed it, the plants "calmed" down. Great advice. Thank you.
Bro this is awesome great job....u inspired me I was thinking to set up a big tank for my hall .....but this mini tank is really out of the box.....and I see the low maintenance. ......
Watched this video over a dozen times and it's still mesmerizing -- the uniquely soothing scape, the health of the plants, the fact that its non-co2 and that its shockingly ultra low maintenance, and your classy NPR anchor-like voice. But Alex, man, please do make another follow up video and give us your secrets! Tell us how long you used the c02 and how you weened it off. Show the cutout where you hid the corner filter, and is there a heater? Do you have early photos of you scaping the tank (fluval stratum only or did you use root tabs at the start)? When you change water 25% to 50% every 3-4 weeks, is that when you test it, or do you test it more often than that?
Unfortunately I broke down the tank about six months ago! You can see the tank on its first day of existence at the 2017 ReefAPalooza video Dustin made. I have a bit more info on this setup on my website, tanktested.org. I wish I had taken more photos and documented the process more.

This comment made me supremely happy.
CLAM :)
This feels like an asmr video
yes, and you're lucky if whispering makes you relaxed, because it is not so for everyone.
It’s almost unlistenable for me. I want the information but it’s like nails on a chalkboard.
sounds a bit like babish to me.

i hate it...................
Not only is the Aquarium a beautiful work of art. The quality of your video is one of the best I've seen when it comes to Aquascaping/Aquarium videos. Fantastic editing and great shots.
Did you go to the Bob Ross School for Buttery Voices?
Happy little fishes.
@@djbs222 it's happy little fish gently
Man..the water is so clear..the fish look like floating in that aquarium
almost like they are swimming
the glass has to be clear too
This seems much easier to achieve in older more mature tanks
This tank is simply amazing. In my opinion, one of the best aquascape I’ve ever seen
It's so refreshing to have an aquarium video where I dont have to turn the audio off from the host yelling at me, or speaking like a damn infomercial! Dont change the relaxed vocals! Thanks!
ive been obsessively watching every aquascaping video on youtube for the last three months and this one is my favorite.
this blows my mind. the aesthetic is outstanding
Wow! This is beautiful. You've inspired me!
One of the nicest tanks I have seen. Also your narration is spot-on, very relaxing which goes with the tank/video.
Tank tested, mother approved… wasn’t that a commercial? Love the tanks and commentary, bravo!
I really look forward to your videos, they feel so “zen” but with the added bonus of learning something new. Thank you so much!
Really appreciate this kind of video. Good clear information delivered in a calm voice with unobtrusive background music. Please do your substrate comparison video, it's so important to get the substrate right and would be great to see what results you get.

Beautiful, simple, and very natural aquascape. Stunning.

Your narration is like butter to my ears ♡ nice soothing relaxing
This is such an excellent video. Especially how you started w/CO2 and then weaned the plants off it. The petrified wood is gorgeous, the soft edges and colors. Thank you.
The quality of this video alone made me subscribe. Thanks for the great video and information.
I simply love your presentation style....it really shows how much your really care in helping others succeed with their tanks
I love how smooth your voice is, this video is nice break from the high engery videos.
Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful ! I found my new hobby today and I'm trying to convince myself that this can be done with little maintenance. You my friend, have just opened the rabbit hole :-)

"There's no way I pronounced that correctly" that made me lol. I'm thinking of starting an aquascape myself soon. Nice video!
I'm just getting into the hobby, and your videos are so great! Thank you for producing intelligent, useful content!
I love this video. Why TH-cam recently recommended it to me. I search for long time to watch like this video
Love this. Similar to my own nano aquascape
This is THE most calming video
Your voice is so soothing, I watch a few of your videos before bed 😊

Just saw your interview with Rachael OLeary at her greenhouse, came here to see what your videos look like and am now a subscriber!
Voice - Fright Night. Tank - Superb.
Your voice and background music is so soothing... Tysm for the video

Amazing tank! One of the best tanks I ever seen! Thank you for sharing. I really enjoyed watching! Cool music too! By the way, the whispering is fine, don’t sweat it!
You are have the voice of a Roman Mars for aquascapes. This is really great quality stuff! Can't wait for more.
That's very kind to say. 99% invisible is one of my favorite podcasts!
Music influence as well?
Clay Beatty Not intentionally, but it’s very podcasty music for sure! The first song is often used in Lore actually.

That would be amazing! I'm obsessed with this video. Beautiful shot and I think your voice is very well suited for the subject. Thank you!
+Tank Tested update? :)
good samaritan
This is most beautiful aquascape I ever seen in my life
Beautiful tank! I love the contrast of green with the petrified wood.
This guys voice is rather as if I am laying in a water bed from the early 90's and the water is calming
I also love how mellow your voice is. It's kinda relaxing
Nicely done. The tank looks great and is very interesting to look at. I as well like the style of your video. Nicely edited, informative, and just pleasant to watch.
Damn man. I love your video. Good information, nice voice and nicely edited video. I subscribed for your work. Thank you.
Alex. You sound so soothing!!
Absolutely fantastic! Beautiful scape, great advice, and excellent production values. How did I not know about your channel until now? (Excuse me while I go subscribe and work my way through your other videos.)
I love your soothing voice
This video is so relaxing i almost cried of stress relief.
This is the tank and video that inspired me to go into the aquascaping hobby! Thanks, Alex.
For my first project, I would like to imitate this style...if you don’t mind. All credit goes to you.
I liked the way he talked...it was calming
Your calm voice and the overall feeling of relax in this video made me click the subscribe button. Looking forward for more similiar stuff :)
This is the most relaxing video on youtube!
Great video, great aquascape. Kudos to Rachel for pushing subscribers to your Channel. Just subscribed.
What a calming voice...
Your voice is very soothing man.
Amazing skill set to get that amount of depth from a small tank
Your video got me in to this hobby. Thank You. also got a smoothing voice along with the music
Gorgeous aquascape. I love how you used the petrified wood vertically to resemble cliffs. I have lots of pet. wood, but it looks awkward in my tank, never thought to use it this way. I'll definitely be trying it on my next setup. Thank you
Amazing aquascape. Great video and editing. Beautiful music and your voice is so soothing. Keep making good stuff. Stay blessed.

Betta fish.😉
Your voice is very soothing
you are better at asmr than a lot of asmrtists. (also very nice video!)
His voice is so relaxing 😀
This was the most informative and mesmerizing video I’ve ever seen.
Hey there! Corvus Oscen sent me!
Your voice is wonderful and video is simply stunning. Keep up the amazing work! I subbed, can't wait to see more videos!
Nice and peaceful place in your tank
your voice is so relaxing. loved the video.
Great video man!
Wanted to upgrade my aquarium with live plants and do some aqua scaping on a small tank and your video really helped!
So once again thanks!!
You sir...just won a follower. Your work is amazing !! Very inspiring !
Nice tank and good commentary to listen to.I've just started my new fish tank.40x40x40cm.I will keep some small fish shrimps and two snails.
One of the best video on aquascape.
Lovely tank, you have given me such inspiration. Restarting a small 6 gallon tank and going thru cycling but am taking my time with the planning of it. I agree about the CO2. It made my plants grow out of control and once I removed it, the plants "calmed" down. Great advice. Thank you.
This puts my Dennerle tank to shame. But at least I know what is possible with the setup I have. Thanks for this!!
Beautiful! I have a reef, but have always wanted to try a fresh aquascape.
The beautiful tank and your voice are knocking me out lol. You'd be a great asmr channel.
Hi Alex, instant sub after watching one video, amazing looking tank and i really like that you explained why you used certain things in your tank.
Bro this is awesome great job....u inspired me I was thinking to set up a big tank for my hall .....but this mini tank is really out of the box.....and I see the low maintenance. ......
The tank is beautifully done. Thanks for sharing this informative video. You just got one more subscriber.
Great video!! I would love a detailed step by step nanoscape tutorial by you!
Subbed just for the way you narrated! ❤️
You should totally do meditation audios, the music and your voice and looking at the tank made me feel so relaxed!!!
beautifully made video, im thinking about getting this tank for christmas
Love the info...and your voice! Thanks for making this!
Those fish are my new favorite, their color is awesome!

Looks really really beautiful. Great job!
Thanks Sean!
Reading your responses, you are hysterical. Love the video. Thanks a bunch.
Guys a legend fair play. So simple, but beautiful. Also subbed and liked
I've spent the last year trying my luck on aquascaping and after trial and error, I'm really inclined to try these low maintenance set ups.
Your voice is SOOOOOOOO relaxing
Holy smokes! Such a nice and informative video! Already subscribed! This is awesome!
