Thanks!! I will try to tighten it up first. My wheel wobbles.

Great info. It would be cool if you edited some of the extra stuff out, the greatest commodity we have is time. Off to part 2!

    Thank you!
I have to change out the bearings on my Ford 5000 (try finding a video for that one). Your adventure through the process for your 8n (my tractor's grandfather) gave me the information and confidence to tackle this task.
I'd tried watching some videos by folks that do this all the time - way too fast and their videos made me feel i wasn't up to taking this on.
Now, a day later, I have the assembly taken apart. Found my outside bearing were shot, quite a bit ground up. So it was past time to do this.
The way the assembly is put together, as I suspected, closely matches yours, and I am well on my way. The new bearing set is due in tomorrow and i'll be putting it all together again.

once ya do one wheel bearing youve done em all (almost) ! its pretty straight forward, just get your bearings packed well and make sure ya got the axle nut torqued/seated right and yer good. Lots of guys under torque the axle nuts or the bearing arent seated right and ruin brand new sets of bearings, just something to keep an eye on .. diesel is a better cleaner than brake cleaner. diesel's cheaper and cleans parts up really well, plus its cheaper!

@@johndowe7003 Thanks for the encouragement and tip on diesel. Now that you say it, I suspect I have under torqued the axle nut. The tractor is now winterized and put away until spring, but before I take it out again I'll tighten the axle nut up a bit.
