They stay at sea for a month at a time (2 months during COVID-19) in all kinds of weather.
Here we see 7-10 meter seas. The maximum recorded seas in this part of the world is 3 x this this size.

Not for me.
I had to smile. My dad is retired now but he was a baker for many years and loved making pizzas on a grand scale. Health permitting, he still likes to bake at home sometimes.

@@Bigwavemaster1 I'd planned on asking about that (what u dubbed new fishy). Since u were on deck to disburse yr mate's ashes, wind also carried some sound away & I missed his name. It is said so long as one still thinks about/mentions u, u are never truly gone - a touching way to honor yr crew-mate/friend & keep his memory alive/aboard-ship. May he rest peacefully in the vast blue deep. We'll be doing same come February for a dear friend, no seaman, but fmr Bay Area res whose last request, water-burial, we aim to honor.

The North Sea played with the ships again))) it is always fascinating. It's either blood or not. The sea is a must for me. In your videos I always see my reasons why I go on a cruise every now and then. The wild and beautiful nature. When the sea is rough, the sky is full of clouds and then the sun rises on the sea. Is there anything more beautiful? okay, if such a cruise ship is really listed in a storm, it's not that funny anymore haa haa. but I already had, it doesn't matter)) Take care! Do you guys get the same perspectem like the sailors on a united state navy vessel out on the open seas.and Do any of your crew get sea sickness out there in those 25-30 foot waves. Dearing a heracain.and thunderstorm. And also Dearing the high seas Dearing all seasons long. Winter spring and summer and fall seasons. Those high seas.looks like a roller coaster ride at times Dearing high seas.and and any storms. And how does your engine holds up going through a tough mother nature out there in the ocean. And are you guys out in the pacific or Atlantic ocean or

I don't understand the first part of your question?
We have a couple of people who get seasick and they've been at sea a long time.
Mostly these seas are in the spring, autumn & winter but we get the odd summer storm. 25-30 ft is quite average. The larger waves reach 75ft+
We are in the North Sea
Your poor friend. So young too! So a couple of questions if you don't mind. With the large waves, do you navigate each one or just steer straight ahead? Also, are your focus rescues primarily for those on the rigs?
We head the ship into the general direction of the biggest waves but then alter course to head towards any big waves that are coming from other directions.
We are paid for by the oil companies to look after their rig but are also available to help anyone else in the are who gets into trouble.

So many questions. I have an unhealthy fear of the ocean. I have just started watching your channel. How big is your ship? How many crew does it take to run it? Is the weather, for the most part, smooth or rough? And, after that long at sea, do you walk like a drunk on land?!! 🤭🤣🤣🤣🤣
The registered length 40.5 meters. We have 15 crew which consists of 3 x Deck Officers, 3 x Engineering Officers, 4 x Coxswains, 4 x Deckhands and a Cook.
I suppose the average sea height throughout the year would be about 3 meters but can reach close to 30 meters during the worst of the winter weather.
One we are used to the motion of the ship, walking on dry land is not a problem.

@@Bigwavemaster1 Holy cow. I just did the math. Your worst waves are just short of 100 FEET TALL, and your ship is just a smidge longer than that? And, you have to sleep some. I would be a neurotic wreck. How long/often do you go to shore? Just to gas up? I will pray for your safety. I am overwhelmed. I don't know how you do it. (But, I live in the Oklahoma plains, so the only real danger we face is a tornado or 50 during the summer...but I have a storm shelter) 🤣 😳
@@grandmasfarmlife The waves at the upper end of the scale are quite rare but 15-25 meters are quite common.
The ship has 2 crews who both do a month at sea at a time so we work on a month on/off basis.
Our ship is our storm shelter :)
