Action Packed Shooting Feral Pigs Foxes & Wild Deer || 308 Win Hunting FPV GoPro & Thermal Footage

- This shooting trip we are out hunting invasive feral pigs, foxes and wild deer. There's plenty of action packed footage in this video with my GoPro on a head mount in daylight. As usual there's also bulk kill shots with the thermal once it got dark too!!!
The grass is definitely sky high with feed levels at 6+ feet high in a lot of the areas we had access to in my mates Polaris XP1000 side by side buggy. Attempting to shoot a lot of country we can access was just not worth the time with such limited visibility, but we stacked up bulk animals out on the more open stubble fields.
Big thanks to my unnamed mate "Bucket" for the invite out seeking assistance on this contract for pest control. It's a beautiful area to spend time and I'm grateful to get the work up there.
Critters on the deck and not killing native animals and damaging agriculture is the aim of the game. These uncontrolled animals are an environmental and agricultural menace in Australia and are mostly classed as invasive pest species.
I am a vertebrate pest control - contract shooter in NSW. For those wondering about the suppressors, both my mate and I hold the necessary permits in NSW to do so. If seeking information regarding that, please check the FAR webpage for details. All shooting is performed on privately owned farms, with exclusive permission granted in writing for paid services.

Both rifles used are chambered in 308 Winchester.
Daytime pump action footage is with a Arrtech Prima XP, shooting Sako 130gr Hollow Point ammo.
Night time, I'm running my Ruger American Predator 18" rifle. This rig is fitted into a MDT Gen 2 LSS chassis, running reloaded ammunition with 150 grain Hornady SST projectiles. There is a sprinkling of subsonic rounds used which are reloads using 190 Sub-X projectiles. My thermal scope is the new Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XG50. For a scanner I'm running a Pulsar Merger LRF XP50.

Hilarious driver with the colonel sanders bucket on his head . That is priceless!
It'll go down in legend 😂
Jeez I bet captain KFC was getting a bit warm under his bucket. Hey I got an animal protection ad prior to your video, had a giggle. Your new pump 308 seems to be doing its job well. Great video Nathen. Keep up the good work mate
Animal protection ads eh. Wow they are after us now.....
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK Gulp! What do you mean us😳
Ned Sanders rides again!
I have never seen a pump action .308! looks like a great set up for quick shooting in the tall grass.

So pleased to see you weren't just trophy hunting but you were taking out ALL the damn feral deer. Thank you.
Agreed, they aren't a species to be conserved like in other countries, we need to be rid of them.
As a vegetarian and an animal lover I greatly appreciate your work.
Thank you 👌
@achildwholoveswildlifegeog9170 Your response is not what I normally see from someone with your interests. Thank you for having open eyes!

Nathan the number of pigs on this property is quite stunning-I hunted the upper Hunter regularly during the drought and we saw nowhere near these numbers. It’s amazing how fast they breed in a good season.
They have definitely exploded
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK The mist shows up so well on infra!
In the US, Texas has an impossible job trying to control feral hogs. The state biologists calculated with how soon the hogs reach sexual maturity, and how many litters hogs can have each year, they calculated they need to kill 70% of the population each year to keep the numbers even. The best they have done so far is 30%. So, yes, the hogs can rebuild the population quickly.
No wonder the can was glowing Nathan, some nice shooting there and what an abundance of targets, thanks for taking us along.
Cheers Hank, glad you enjoyed it.
As usual you don’t disappoint great work.
Thank you! Cheers!
Ned Kelly with a dirty bird bucket, as always you got me laughing straight out the gate... another awesome video Nathan, thanks.
Thanks Paul
What a night Nathan Pigs Foxes and Deer and a red hot rifle well done mate and of course the obligatory KFC in wrap form.
Thanks Rod
Another great hunt cobber. Thank you for taking us along with you and the the big BH🤠
Thanks for watching
It's always an awesome watch on this channel. Lots of funny stuff and lots of action.
Colonel Bucket must have been a good luck charm. Lots of ferrals on the deck. Scavengers have an all you can eat buffet.
Yep
The bush looks so beautiful in those opening scenes, there was that much action out there I thought Nate is at the Zoo! Best yet mate, awesome shooting, so steady, God Bless and stay safe!
Thanks Bobby 👍🏻
What a nice Target rich environment again Well Done Nathan and I love your Mate’s Dirty Bird Helmet.
Glad you like it
*Edge of the OUTBACK* Great job fellas, thanks for taking the time to bring us along. GOD Bless.
Cheers mate 👌
Algorithmic engagement comment.
I always love the slow motion replays. Gives me a good chuckle.
Glad you enjoy it!
I appreciate not showing the dead piglet. I know it's gotta be done but holy hell do I, a big hairy macho man, have a tremendous weak spot for the little oinkers. Thanks for makin this vid for us!
Love the deadpan delivery. A special talent
Thanks again Nathan great work good ridence to all those pests, and thanks to Mr Bucket head for the farm access, look ford to your next clean up 👍
Thanks 👍
Incredibly brave to walk and stalk in that tall grass. I wouldn't even with full body armor. Great video...thanks
Nah, it's not that bad.
Always enjoy your videos Hollywood, nice bit of kit that 308 👍🏾
Great work, when I had my .308 I preferred the Sierra 168gn BTHP, it seemed to give good accuracy and flat shooting while doing heaps of damage at the other end. Good memories so thanks for bringing them back to me.
No worries John
Excellent shooting as always, in tricky conditions. I see the mergers getting put to good use. Very good job of work done for the landowner. Just love your vids and the camera work was great.
Thanks Derek
Dandy 'harvest' here again, great viewing and entertainment , and for this I thank you, Nathan.
Cheers Reg
What a myriad of ferals you took out. Pigs, foxes and deer.
Great effort, entertaining to watch.
Thanks Dean

Was that one night? Crazy how many pests there are out there - nice work cleaning them up...
You did well in that long grass. Can only imagine the cull rate if the grass was a bit lower. Nice work mate.
Thanks Robbo 😎
Just before bed, the perfect thing to fall asleep to, hahahha!
haha family portrait.
Dirty bird looks good in his bucket hat
Cheers
Jim
Thanks Jim
Another good one. Well done, mate.
Well done mate, the whole hunter valley is firing atm. Keep ‘em coming
Original recipe every time! Cold from the fridge popcorn chicken is amazing !
You know things 💪
I remember when I was in the army walking through long glass like that and tripping over pig roo's and deer too but the idea of the catching of fire was more scary! cheers
That's some tally for the night. Love the last shot.
I was thinking I'll scratch that itch, but you got in there.
Thanks Paul
Outstanding second shot on the little one… I thought no way! ❤️🏆🏆
Thanks John, I get a little practice....
I love your work Nathan and watch every episode ,awesome well done thanks so much.
Cheers Darren
As one Aussie to another that was awesome mate good shooting nice work 👍🦘🇦🇺
Cheers Damien
The trigger got a workout on that one! Cracking video mate loved it 👌
Thanks Kyle
👍 the KFC 'camo' on your mate Bucket, and we know Original Recipe rocks in the lunch box anywhere, not just out on the boat for a day. (US Great Lakes) IMO LRF is a must, esp to comp trajectories for load and save 'em. I'm using it on my latest IR scope and plan to buy my next thermal able to accept the same accessory. (ABL 1000) As always great marksmanship, great editing, and a great video.
Cheers John, glad you enjoyed it 👌
Another great vid mate. That was a target rich environment wasn't it. Cracking shooting again 👏👏👏
Cheers Ian
great video as always Nathan, glad to see there was no "olympic class gun dropping" in this one!...lol!
Foxes - The family that plays together stays together ay Nathan 😂😂. Tell Bucket He's The Man 😁
I will mate 💪
I've seen your mate many times before.
At the cricket lol. cheers.
Yep, yet another fantastic video of the demise of many of my most hated species! Nice work by you and BH I wish I was out there with you.
Thanks Steve
The bucket on the drivers head had me dying though...nice shooting!

Love all of your videos!! The are absolutely addicting!!!

Great job mate. Must be awesome to have a guy like Bucket Head around. His Axl Rose stories should keep you entertained for hours.
OK Nathan, you can't fool me, I know who your pal is ! Ned Kelly rides again a, & I thought the cops got him yonks ago lol !

Cheers 👌
another quality vid amazing the number of pigs top effort
How much fun was that!!! Nicely done!!
Thanks Curtis
There's a guitar player called Buckethead that also wears a bucket...on his head. Different guy I reckon 😉
Great video as usual, certainly a cut above other hunting channels.
Thanks Dave
Pump action with the thermal would be a good night out😁
Especially in this location.
Yeah but you can't shoot a pump action very well off a rail or tripod 😩
Man that was a excellent video and the glow off the suppressor. Man I love mine but yeah they get pretty got.
They warm up so quickly on the 308Win, especially in summer.
Another good night out shooting , keep them coming Nath👍
Thanks Gary
Good reads on the targets/animals. Nice shooting 💪🔥😊
Cheers 👌
If you are using a head band type torch to walk around, If it doesn't already have a red light. Try some red celophane or something similar. The Red lights dont spook them as much as the white does. Great vid.
I've been using a red light for a few years now 👌
Red lights does not atracts bugs as well, big bonus😄
I love the zinger KFC. Yummm. Lol.
Zinger bad, original recipe best 😎
Great job Nathan !!!! Colonel KFC is a bit of a worry though ...😏🙄
😂 Points for effort that's for sure 💪
Pretty hectic there at times, great shooting.
Think I may have seen you give a pig the Rock Hudson shot as it ran away from you through the fence😉
Yep 😎
Hope Your mate got a new bucket ?
Your doing an excellent job
Fella ! Keep knocking off
Those feral basturds !
That bucket was pretty sore and sorry by the end of the night
Great shooting! I didn't know you had a feral deer problem in Australia.
There are no native deer in Aus,they are all ferals.
Well at least you can always have a freezer full of meat.
Fantastic shooting as always we enjoy every video
Thanks Andrew 👌
None of that zinger shit😂😂. Great vid mate.
Glad you enjoyed
Who needs Netflix on a Friday night when we can watch pig shooting! Bummer that no cats showed up, get ‘‘em next time!
Yeah they are almost impossible to sight in that grass unfortunately
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK how do you find the pussy in the tall grass?
spot on bucket men ..bulk foxes & porky pigs
Mate, BEST CHANNEL ON AUSSIE TH-cam BY FAR!!!
You put so much effort in your videos... PLUS doing your profession is amazing. Beautiful Aussie country and funny characters... What's wrong with the Zinger mate!??😂
Appreciate it mate, but you seem a bit lost if you think those cow crap tasting zingers are any good 🤢
Fantastic Boys great video quality shooting
Stay safe Cheers
all those foxes in one spot was wild haha, great job mate
Cheers Ben
Great shooting fellas. Your suspicious looking bucket-headed mate doesn't go by the name of Rodney, does he??😎
No it's not Rod, he loves the camera 😛
A different adventure, great work 👍
Thank you! 👍
I started drooling seeing all that venison hit the deck
Good stuff Nathan love it 👍👍👍
Thanks mate 👌
Wow there are heaps of pigs there! Shame the grass isn't a bit shorter 🤣 great effort again mate. You're a good shot. 👌
Thanks mate 👍🏻
Some big ferals went down. Good shoot mate. Fair bit of claret in some of the footage though, I hope you don’t have any problems
I think the issue in my last video was actually my son 😡
love your work 👌looks like a lot of fun 😃
Thanks so much! 😊
Been using a Remington 7600 in 308 as my pig rifle for a few years. It’s handy but it’s not exactly what you call a premium product. Something like this pump looks like a nice little upgrade.
The action is much nicer than a 7600 for sure.
Gee Rodney is one good mate! What about a Milbro for the close work 😅
Got a KFC at the top of my street but never had one for years. Agree re the Zinger 💩
Great work, great skills 👍
That's not Rodney 😂
Nice shooting mate love you video cheers mate 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Thanks Kevin
Great video as always mate. Let’s call your mate Rob the Dentist.
Btw, that gun with the silencer sure is a lot quieter, unless it just appears that way.
Thanks mate. My 308Win is probably about between a 22LR and 22mag when the suppressor is on. Definitely helps.
Excellent video and great shooting. Action packed. 🎈🥳🎈
In deep grass like that.... has a big boar ever turned on you and attacked? I hear they are deadly and crazy mean once they think they're in trouble.
Not that I haven't shot before he got too close 😎
Crikey mate, this many ferals a belt fed weapon has its place.
Again amazing work done.
Good to see the fallow were recovered
Top shooting again mate 👍👍👍
