Yeah they shared it on a happy hour on Facebook they just had. The bottom three parts all live in St. Louis and had rehearsed it but because of Chris getting in on a late flight they didn’t have time to run it with Tim, so they just went for it on stage. Beasts
They apparently didn’t get a chance to rehearse it together as the whole foursome beforehand either due to Tim having moved out of the state and Chris getting bumped to a later flight. This video is the _first time_ they sang that together as a quartet.
@Ben Reynolds oh, eric dalbey has always been an exceptional lead, but he's also the quietest member of vocal spectrum, so not being able to hear the melody part in a barbershop song isn't good at all. he's definitely gotten louder, and overall his sound is so much more polished than it used to be.
Not only a great performance and arrangement, as many have said, but both are wonderfully faithful to the original spirit and style of this great classic song -- especially the version by Les Paul and Mary Ford that obviously was the main inspiration.
So was this another David Wright special that he gave to them a week before the AIC show? I met someone who sings in AOH and he says that they're composed of three freaks of nature and a bass. I find that extraordinarily easy to believe.
Anyone else want a evolution of Bye bye blues. This song has seen more major arrangements than I can count, and all are amazing
Nuts to think this was the first time all four of them sang through this together was the day of this performance. 🐐
Stephen Goldman Fr? Omg they r legends

I’m pretty sure they recorded it as a quartet before this performance
@@goldmans95 Wouldn't that just mean Tim would've reversed it with Eric and Johnny without Chris?
Just when you think David Wright can't write anything more insanely hard for VS to sing, he throws them this one... and then they do this 😍😍😍

@@JoelERea think @Stephen Goldman already commented that haha
Just realized that this is basically just the Les Paul & Mary Ford arrangement with an amazing tag. Not mad about it.
Miss singing with you, Hopper! ~Jared Gollnitz aka “Quiz”
Shoutouts to Jonny for just a literal perfect bari job.
I understand what you're saying, but he definitely loses points for using that electric guitar imitation
@@Paul_K_ no way jose that was perfect imo
David is the only one insane enough to write something like this, and I love it
eric dalbey has 100% worked so hard on his voice and it definetly shows.
He’s insane!!! His technique is envied by me! You can tell the man puts in ALL the work!!
@Ben Reynolds certainly is!

@@KatanaYurr what do you mean by “that silly old barbershop technique?”
Sean Devine's smile at 1.32 is infectious....you can hear him just willing VS to smash it!

David Brown I said that around the time of all the BLM protests..I think that might explain it
@@reilandsoares7127 this comment aged very well, you definitely can't be sayin that
Every cell in my body is smiling from this performance.
YESSS best way to start my morning!!!!
Also, I know I comment on legit every YT video there is, but this one... how could I NOT?

That undertone hit like a ton of bricks on that final chord!!! If VS competed every year they'd win by a landslide
Man. I'm willing to stop my career and enrol on this schoo TODAYl! LOL
They have kept at such a high level for so long. Thanks for the dedication and talent. Man that was good!
Busy ,fun!
YES !
Les Paul solo !! Love it
Thank you for posting this! I was watching this live from a few rows back and my jaw was dropped the whole time they sang this... so freakin’ good.
Insane!
This is *NOT* what I was expecting when I saw the title! 😯

I hear some Gene Puerling influence here! 1:17 is especially reminiscent of Goody Goody
They sound more 'old school' (in a goid way) than a lot of quartets.
Next level singing
Exactly what I needed today. Thank you BHS
So pleasant
GOATs!!!!! Jeeeeesus christ they are so good
Because of JC they can!

I wonder what the sun tones would think of their version
Does anyone know where I can find the arrangement to this?

David Wright?
I would assume so, but it doesn't say in the description. But only VS and David Wright would do something like this 😂
Yes! David Wright arranged it
