What book do you want to hear for spooky season? You can hear the next part of Dracula right now on Patreon: www.patreon.com/downtosleep I have been reading Dracula off and on for a while on the podcast, decided it was the perfect time to do a compilation for spooky season.
What a talent you are, honestly. You're honoring these masterpieces and the listeners experience. If I had money, I'd give you a boost. Thank you for your service.
Although it is a hot August 2023 night, the rain and the natural and beautiful reading of the classic brings such elegance to the ending of my day. This great story and story teller holds our attention but also allows a rhythm and peace that puts the spooky subject in relief.Thank you for your talent, attention to detail and generosity in sharing. From Canada
These are so good! It really helps me de-stress and stops me from over-thinking. It's super comforting and your voice is as smooth as room-temperature butter. Thank you once again. If I recommend anything I'd recommend Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones. It's such an interesting story.
@down to sleep PLEASE do some tim burton stories, especially for halloween season but even after. more stories like coraline, they’re very comforting. maybe edward scissor hands? nightmare before christmas?
I hope you read more books in the future 😊 here’s some I would recommend. The Secret of Nymn Watership Down Salem’s Lot The Prophesy of the Stones Van Hellsing
Wish i'd found this, when I was on holiday last year in Whitby, when I visited the Abbey on Halloween, I stayed in a hotel that Bram Stoker stayed in they had his portraite in the lobby.
I have no idea whats going on in this story honestly. But I am able to drift in and out of sleep as the reading goes on. Its very relaxing. Maybe ill need to actually read the book sometime lol. Maybe it'll make more sense. I feel like im missing all the important parts
@madelinesolk5734 Yeah it definitely works to relax and make you fall asleep lol. Ive listened to this recording three separate times and fell asleep during different parts. I still have no idea whats happening lol
Thank you so much for this amazing reading. I really love it so much. Only down for me, was that the word Cigany (Gypsy in hungarian) was so horrible misspelled. It almost physically hurted.. spoken the "C" would sound like a "ts"... like saying "tststs" the "a" would be high pitched and long pulled like in "about" and the "ny" is pressed together and goes up in tonallity and sounds exsactly like the "n" in "new". The rest is perfection...
Can you read James Thurber? I love him but I like to go to sleep to continual speaking, so as not to have to get up just to continue listening just when I am dropping off to sleep. Thanks
I’m Romanian and I’ve never liked mamaliga. It’s gross tasting. My sister likes it, to me it tastes disgusting. When I was lil I didn’t know it was cornmeal . I love corn bread, which is mamaliga bread. But I hate porridge mamaliga. It’s not weird but I just don’t like it. I tried very hard to like it, but I just cantT. More for my sister…lol
Just looked up the movie of Bram stokers dracula and I'm 5 minutes in and it's already different and Keanu Reeves anybody in their right mind would have definitely left as soon as Dracula is carried pulled up and picked him up by his shoulder and lifted him into the thing come on man totally disappointed
This guy's voice is way too soft for this book. Really difficult to even hear him I know it's made for sleep but I didn't want to listen to the book and have it put me to sleep. I guess I'm just listening to it on the wrong station.

The fun stories are too interesting to fall asleep to. I love all of them though.
What a talent you are, honestly. You're honoring these masterpieces and the listeners experience. If I had money, I'd give you a boost. Thank you for your service.
Honestly, this is a great reading. Your dracula “voice” is subtle and impressive.

Something about the English accent that calms me. Well done! ❤

I find a lot of this story difficult to understand as well. I prefer simpler language but I still love his voice.
@madelinesolk5734 Yeah it definitely works to relax and make you fall asleep lol. Ive listened to this recording three separate times and fell asleep during different parts. I still have no idea whats happening lol
i hope you will continue this one!
There are lots of these without rain already on the audio version and more will be coming to TH-cam soon
I thought this was the audio version so I don't understand what you mean.
Precious moment. I love this😊
I love this book & your reading so much. Are you going to narrate the whole book?

Excellent choice! Perfect for my Halloween spirt!! Thank you!
Who reads these please lovely lovely voice. Thank you❤
❤❤❤ me and my boyfriend love this so much. He sleeps better❤
My mother was from Bokovina Ukraine 🇺🇦 came to this country after WW2…she was orthodox but didn’t take the folk tales for granted!
I’ve read Dracula and enjoyed it but also hated, there are some very sore and frustrating parts, but this reading is certainly not frustrating!
been WAITING for this one 🦇
Liked, commented subscribed
You are awesome and I love this channel
This sounds so reminiscent of Jude Law’s narration in The Grand Budapest Hotel
Mmm Dracula and rain … zzz goodnight
Thank you for this story! Please consider adding The Hunger Games.
Loved the story 💚
This is going to be great
WONDERFUL ❤❤❤
I’m actually currently reading it
Do some spooky werewolf stories too! 😎

Tom Hiddleston, is that you?
Great!
Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman would be good along with The Raven.
Can you read James Thurber? I love him but I like to go to sleep to continual speaking, so as not to have to get up just to continue listening just when I am dropping off to sleep. Thanks
I would love to hear the little Prince by Exupery
Cool:)
Reading is great but the rain audio is a little too loud so I can't hear the voice clearly 😢
Unfortunately, it seems like a loud ad pops up just as I'm dozing off.

I’d love to hear you read slowly hollow next spooky season 🎃

The trick is to put a half cube of soup-vegetable-broth into it while cooking and add some parmesan cheese into it and it will taste quite good 😉
You prob get suggestions all the time so I won’t try and twist your arm about…READ DUNE NEXT…the next book you choose. :)
Is this an abbreviated version??
Video 110 ,of asking for you to turn rain audio up
Please turn it up
It 5.30 plz 🙏
The rains a little loud to hear the words well.
Any hope for more Lord of the Rings content?
I only liked the hobbit.

I’m 😊
I read this in 3rd grade😭😭😭💀
Nice video, but i got to admit that i was sorta disappointed that the narrator wasn't Sir Cristopher Lee.
🥰📚✨♥️☕️

Rain sound is too loud. It is hard to understand the story. 🙁
The sound of rain and surf are not conducive to sleep in you live on a beach.
The background sound of rain interferes with the narration.
The rain is way too overwhelming to hear the story at all.
because its for sleeping
Can't hear you as very noisy background!!!
turn it up then
too fast for a bed time story.
i hate the bg
It’s not relaxing when you need to listen carefully. The narrator is speaking too quickly and mumbling too much
This guy's voice is way too soft for this book. Really difficult to even hear him I know it's made for sleep but I didn't want to listen to the book and have it put me to sleep. I guess I'm just listening to it on the wrong station.
heavens please ! stop with the background sounds !
😊his voice is lovely and words are relaxing BUT the back ground sound is horrible.
It's obviously read in a way to help you relax/sleep, if you want to enjoy the story then it's absolutely awful.
