Guys and Gals! Tell us all where ya live! I'd love to know......be sure you're following over on Facebook or you're missing some good stuff! Woooooo!! facebook.com/stoneyridgefarmer
Josh, you make me smile when you refer to that pristine truck as "rusty crusty"! Up here in Wisconsin where we have salty winters we'd consider that truck to be brand new. Our local Craigslist would be proud to feature something that nice. Keep up the good work.
Hi Josh - We live in South Weymouth, MA and my wife is 92 and I am 91. I bought a pair of the Kebtek pruners - I got the smaller size - lighter and easier on the arthritis, I've been out pruning steady for the last three hours - it was so easy. I have all kinds of tools and I think this is the best one I own. I tried buying it through your web page and it wouldn't go through - tried for two days and finally gave up and just ordered it - got it the next day, If anyone is interested in one of these pruners - take my advice and get it - you'll love it
Hey Mr. Stoney I am a retired oil field maintenance guy. I have put Teflon tape on millions of 1”and.2” pipe the majority of it in high pressure applications. I can help you out. When applying tape hold the fitting in i to our left hand and take the tape in your right hand and go over the top putting the tape on in a clockwise direction. This keeps the tape from balling up and coming off. Love your channel keep up the good work.
Love seeing y'all working together . Happy to see the Mrs back on the farm with you by the way , I'm from Troy Missouri and have 9 acres I'm attempting to turn into a mini farm . God Bless you 🙏 !
Cut hole in back of tool box run fuel hose through it to pump and roll up hose and nozzle in tool box for added security to fuel theft. Plus it makes it look cleaner and neater.
Good for you, in these challenging times, to embark on a project as significant as starting a ne farm. My neighbour down the road recently started a farm as well. Is farming trending upwards again? If so - good. More dedicated farmers are desperately needed on both sides of the boarder. We live in Salmon Arm BC - very much a farming community in the Okanagan Valley of BC. One request - please address your lovely wife and partner by her first name - she deserves that identity and respect. Good fortune and God’s speed with developing your farm.
Once you start getting condensation in your tank it's a fight to stop it as you have experienced. With diesel keep it full, trick I learned from fuel and lube truck operator. Also leave pick up tube about inch above bottom of tank, it keep the crud from taking out your pump. Also if you see any water do a filter change instantly, they are cheap and you may go through 3 to correct the problem but it will save the tank of fuel and keep you from bleeding tractor fuel systems.
Just installed a new pump on our bulk tank on the farm, 2 days ago this would have been super helpful! Haha keep up the good work Josh! Especially tool Tuesdays! And Pennsylvania is where I call home!
Quick suggestion: after drilling those 3 holes in the bed, coat with Fluid Film, Wool Wax etc to reduce risk of corrosion. Yeah the bed is rusty, why make it worse. LMAO when you installed pump with pickup tube. Thanks for Tool Tuesday. 70* and sunny up here in Northwest NJ.
Just a thought for getting power to the fuel pump run a cord with a trailer plug and then just plug it in the trailer plug on the truck when you need power.
Recently I've decided that any work I do on my vehicle will include cleaning and application of some form of protective covering like flex seal or bed liner. Certainly not a bad idea behind and under that tank.
Bed liner can allow the water to get under it and rust out your bed quickly. There are several different options on spray on types but do not skimp on it maybe two coats instead of just one.with that it is all in the prep work to get a usable truck bed
That truck is in good shape compared to what we call rusty an crusty up here in Canada ! Tool time really hasn’t showed me anything I haven’t seen before but I like watching josh make mistakes 🤣🤣
Hey Josh ; I'm halfway between Raleigh and Wilmington N.C. . Everybody with a homestead or farm needs a way to transport fuel safely . I love tool tuesday's .
Good morning Stoney Ridge Farm! I’m just just now watching Tool Tuesday on Wednesday! Watching from sling the coast of South Ms enjoyed the tool show thanks
Love Tool Time, Mrs. Stoney Ridge does a good job too, don't know how she finds the time, but kudos. Livin' in sunny Florida, where all ya need is a bucket of water an bag of fertilizer 'cause, we have sand.
Awesome video Josh you did a good job installing that fuel tank buddy. I'm originally from Tennessee but I've been living in Florida for sometime now . Appreciate the videos buddy
I have seen using a hose clamp on the tailgate hinge to make it harder to steal. also a lot of newer trucks the tailgate is locked when the truck is locked.
hi there i broke down and got a 300 gal tank for the farm . Needed a 300 so i could get delivery to hear . It was also cheeper than going and getting off road diesel in town . john
I seen a Company owner of a Trucking Company. He put a a Diesel fuel tank in his 1 1/2 truck. He would go across the border to cheaper fuel. I know that USDOT has rules on how much fuel can be transported, it is different for gas, and Diesel fuel.
We get our trucks from either south Texas or any other snow free area! Can't buy any used trucks in MI without bad rust.... don't get Erik started on rusty trucks 😂
Good afternoon. Maybe later on down the road you might want to shim one side and install a valve either a gate or ball style to open and drain condensation/ water out of the lower side. Hence shimming it. Cheap insurance too help avoid water in fuel. Unless mfg made it with a slight decline one way or the other. Hope this helps anyone.
That would be a great way to get the fuel tank out of the cab of my 69 Chevy. Although I'm betting that's far more expensive then the current under the bed options. I was thinking the idea of using that as a fuel tank for my truck, but to fuel other vehicles. Lol
Hey Josh hey mrs. Stoney ridge thank you for the video I enjoyed it and yeah got to get rid of those musk rats would like to see that video next to woo hehe
Was wondering when you planed to put the pick up tube in the tank. My auto shop teacher in high school back in 1971 always said RTFM (read the f****** manual) in between hits on his wacky tobacco cigarettes.😁😂🤣
a hose clamp over the pin on that tailgate will at least cause some frustration to the thief. i would think many dont have tools just trying to get away quick.

I was wondering how long it was going to take you to figure the pickup tube wasn't installed.

Pretty here today too!!! Guys tell us where ya live!!
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer I’m just south of Richmond Virginia
Love you and Mrs Stoney Ridge! Enjoy your channel!!
As a veteran new to farming I absolutely love the shirt.
Josh, if you hardwire this to the battery, put a switch in the cab somewhere to deter theft of fuel by keeping it in the off position.
Cut hole in back of tool box run fuel hose through it to pump and roll up hose and nozzle in tool box for added security to fuel theft. Plus it makes it look cleaner and neater.
Enjoyed it Josh, good to see Mrs Stoney Ridge out there in those overalls giving you a helping hand. Woooo!

At Scout camp the Ranger had a saying. "Never enough time to do it right once, but always enough time to do it twice"
We had that over the Mainenance Bay doors in Germany in the 1980s. Tanks break...a lot.
Drilling into the bed hurt my soul! Great vid! Up here in Canada that truck is almost perfect condition
Tanks for This Tool Tuesday
