The things like proofs and trigonometry you learn in highschool are about giving you abstract thinking abilities and learning how to apply logical problem solving. They are giving you basic thinking tools. Yes there SHOULD be a lot more practical teaching in highschool, but that doesnt make the other things irrelevant. Of course my first statement is not considering if the system in place is actually properly implemented (quality of teaching, complexity of material....) or not, that is a separate conversation. (Clearly education not being effectively implemented in the US, im not disputing this)

Community College. Has a negative stigma attached to it but is EXTREMELY cheap compared to traditional 4 year universities plus most have transfer programs to traditional colleges. A downside though is that you don’t get the college lifestyle. IMO its a great option for starting college and giving you more time to figure out your path in life but would love to hear yall’s thoughts
