  • John Wayne valued courage, strength, grit, patriotism, and family… and so does John Wayne Walding. John Wayne Walding is a former Sergeant First Class Green Beret and entrepreneur. In this episode, John Wayne Walding tells the story of the Battle of Shok Valley. In this 6 hour fire fight, he lost his leg to a sniper and returned fire for four more hours with his severed lower limb tied to his thigh. He details what the battle was like and how he got through it, including how being named after John Wayne inspired him.
John Wayne Walding is also founder of 5 Toes Custom, Gallantry Global Logistics, and Live to Give.

Excellent. I wish I had taken notes during this podcast. I agree with the fact that we need a lot more John Wayne and a lot less John Legend in our country.

Ethan. You're not only honoring your father' life, you're honoring the Constitution. There is a simple answer. Buy a gun . Get training . Stay within the law. I became cop 3 years after Duke died.

I just wonder what John Wayne would think of this whole “woke” movement and the whole gender business and “trans” ideology is all about. I personally don’t understand it and I am 75. We have lost most of the generation like John Wayne, and my Daddy who was a Captain in the U.S. Army, Military Intelligence…he was born in 1918 and he died from lung cancer in 1996. I don’t think he would understand what our world has become nor approve of it.

I participated in the BDM memorial. It was hard. But I persevered for men I personally knew that that suffered the march. Tillman Rutledge, Andy Anderson, Leonard Robinson and a few others. At the end we were all honored with a handshake from Veterans that survived the march.

Incredible story. Thank you for sharing this story. I am an upper extremity amputee and I experienced damage to my leg due to a lawn mower accident at the age of 3. I always appreciate stories about other amputees.

As a Mom whos son just entered the Military a little over 6 months ago, I needed to see & hear this.
This was filmed a year ago, is what it says, and I believe the world is definitely in a way worse condition today (6/1/24) then the year before.
Thank you Ethan and thank you John Wayne, for both of you sharing your stories, there are lessons to be learned from both.
My Son joined at the age of 33, I couldn't be prouder of him! I am a 61 year old woman of Faith ✝️ and I am asking for prayers for our Military and our Country...this world we live in is starting to catch fire. I will always believe, God is in control!!!
    ✝️🫡🇺🇲❤️
Thank you for such an honest interview, foro both of you!
