The absurdity of her act went beyond her performance alone; before Eurovision she harassed Treble when they visited Iceland, cursed at the production team during rehearsals, and of course had her iconic meltdown with the press when she didn't qualify. The best part is that most people didn't get that she wasn't for real, but it's probably because she played her role really well! lmao if I were her I'd have a really hard time trying not to break character while being so obnoxious 😂

Definately it is the best Entry of Iceland. Most humorous and best piece of autoirony in ESC, so congratulations. Sadly, it did not qualify to the final, but Lithuania was supporting this entry in the semi-final.
The best Icelandic performance EVER! Sylvia was a steriotypical, fictional, satirical TV character performed by Ágústa Eva Erlendsdóttir. She was supposed to win, but got judged by her looks and her attitude. Shame really.

@@alice45-fgd-456drt you do that. Eurovision songs levelled up a lot, now you can actually become a huge artists after the contest, not just one hot wonder anymore with ‘glittery’ songs. Eurovision evolved and modernised so maybe its not for you anymore
@@GossipGirl770I think a lot still only watch it for the fun, glittery party songs because it makes the world a bit more funnier rather than just listening to depressing ballads. If I wanted to here serious pop songs all the time I’d just turn on the radio.

Definately it is the best Entry of Iceland. Most humorous and best piece of autoirony in ESC, so congratulations. Sadly, it did not qualify to the final, but Lithuania was supporting this entry in the semi-final.
And Lithuania also sent a song declaring themselves as the winners of the Eurovision during that time.

The best Icelandic performance EVER! Sylvia was a steriotypical, fictional, satirical TV character performed by Ágústa Eva Erlendsdóttir. She was supposed to win, but got judged by her looks and her attitude. Shame really.

This is actually one of the shows that I best remember from my childhood. Excellent writing and performance. Such a pity the joke wasn't obvious enough for the rest of Europe.
