Love Somewhere in Time. Brings back memories of watching it with Grandma when she would babysit me as a little one. It was one of her and mine's favorite movies to watch together.
Fun fact: they were scouting locations to film when they saw the "trespassers will be eaten" sign. Upon further investigation they decided to work the alligator farm into the film. The owner of the farm performed the stunt of running across the gators. They even used the owners last name as the name for the villian.
The farm ia in Jamaica. I got a tour and a rather good lunch on my nerd cruise a few years ago. We were told the owner wore Bond's shoes for the stunt. They were new and a bit slippery; he damn near fell into the water and could have been gator chow!

One of my favorite Bond films. Felix Leiter was played by family friend; David Hedison. My mother ran his fan club for many years and ran his website up until he passed a couple of years ago. He was always a kind and gracious person. He was really good friends with Roger Moore and said he had a lot of fun on this film.
Great reaction. Solitaire was played by the beautiful Jane Seymour who continues to act to this day. She has starred in many movies and is popularly known for the lead in Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman. By the way, the "gross" sheriff returns, so you haven't seen the last of him.
Dear old Sir Roger. A fab Bond (and The Saint) and a lovely chap in real life. Genuinely funny and self depreciating while always having time for fans, especially children who he did a lot of charity work for with UNICEF. RIP.
This is the first James Bond movie I ever saw. My father took me to the theater to see it when I was 7 or 8 and I loved it. Roger Moore was always James Bond for me, though I learned to like Sean Connery when I was older. The hover boat and Bond walking on crocodiles were imprinted in my memory forever.

Welcome to the Roger Moore era. I'm in the minority, but he's my favorite Bond. He doesn't at all have the cold steel that the other actors have, which is a bit of his detriment, but I love the humanity he brings to the role. He was also a few years older than Sean Connery, and he really shows his age towards the end. Still, Octopussy and For Your Eyes Only are my favorite Bond films of the entire series, and Moore pulls them off great. BTW, the snake in the bathroom that you said has a cute face is a speckled kingsnake. They are totally harmless, and as snakes go, they make really awesome pets. Kingsnakes are very easygoing and have inquisitive personalities. I used to have several, and they would always come out to see what I was doing if I was in the room their cages were in.
This is the movie where I genuinely love Geoffrey Holder’s hypnotic, sleek and mischievous look play against Bond. Roger Moore certainly breathed new life in his incarnation during the 70s. Yaphet Kotto and Jane Seymour were incredible in this too, along with everyone else! Can’t wait for you to see Moore 😅🎉

Hello, Ms. Jen! "Live And Let Die" was the very first Bond film I saw as a boy, and for that very reason, Roger Moore was always the definitive Bond for me. Sean Connery was great, Pierce Brosnan was good, but Roger Moore was the face I identified with as 007. Throw in a kick ass theme song by Paul McCartney and Wings, and what's NOT to love?
The laughing voodoo guy in the tall hat was in some popular 7Up drink commercials in the 70's. Another super cool Bond reaction, Jen. I think you are really going to love Moore's collection of films if you enjoyed his first outing (though, as I mentioned previously, Moore was the FIRST screen adaptation of Bond starring in an older TV special in Britain). He had the most fun in the role.
Growing up as a kid in the 90's, every December one of the cable stations, I believe it was TBS, played all of the Bond Movies out at the time. This was the first Bond movie I can remember seeing in it's entirety. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and something tells me you will enjoy The Man With The Golden Gun.

The theme song, Live and Let Die, isn't a Beatles song. The Beatles had already broken up by this point, and the song was written and composed by Paul McCartney and his new band, Wings, which he formed with his wife, Linda McCartney.
I love this movie, showcases Roger Moores strengths. I think most peoples issues with Roger More are with the later movies when he was really too old to play the part convincingly and they started to parody themselves. Saying that please don't skip any of the movies as even my least favourite film (Roger's last) has its moments

Yes! You should watch "Ben Hur". One of Hollywood's most iconic films, with a powerful performance by Charlton Heston. The chariot race scene is one of the most famous in film. You could work it in for Easter if you wanted. I think this was Roger Moore's strongest performance as Bond, he has a harder edge in this movie than in the following ones. If you like quips you're going to love Roger Moore. If you did a 'quip-counter' like your Bond girl counter it would probably explode. It got a bit old towards the end for me. After him they went back to more serious Bonds. His Bond films are still fun, I think you'll like them.
I don’t why but I always laugh when M looks around Bond’s flat at the beginning. He’s acting like the nosy dad who’s making sure his son isn’t doing anything wrong.
This is the first Bond film I saw as a kid and the graveyard/voodoo scene scared the hell out of me. Also, fun fact; The boat jump across the road was in the Guinness book of world records for the longs boat jump.
Roger Moore was one of the loveliest, most honourable men you could ever hope to meet. He was so funny too. Read his autobiographies and you’re reassured by how funny and kind he is. He and Lois Maxwell were lifelong friends.

Paul & Linda McCartney got an academy award nomination for it, but weirdly, lost to Marvin Hamlisch for that turgid, plodding theme from "The Way We Were." David Hedison who plays Felix, was a star on his own....he was the lead in the Lost World, and then played on the TV version of Voyage to the Bottom f the Sea as Captain Crane, with Richard Basehart [Admiral Nelson] about the super submarine, complete with commi spys, sea monsters and aliens and ghosts from 1964-68. He them guested on TV and movies. He and Roger Moore were friends from doing British TV together, McCartney's title song went to #1 on the charts in 1973.

missed this when it first dropped but this was the first Bond movie I ever saw. My family taped it off of the television back in the 90s, I found the tape one day (when I was about 7 years old) and had heard of Bond through pop-culture, but this was the first time I actually saw a genuine James Bond film. To this day I cite it as the quintessential Bond film with all the best cliches thrown in. Gadgets, a great villain, exotic locations, love-interests who have actual depth, excellent stunts, and easily the best James Bond we've ever had, portrayed by Roger Moore.

May not be everyone's favorite, but Roger Moore was my favorite Bond. Perhaps it was because I was so young when his movies were coming out and use to always pretend I was him in my own 007 imagination. I also loved the music from his era of films the most. The Spy Who Loved Me with the great Carly Simon's "Nobody Does it Better", then "For Your Eyes Only" by Sheena Easton, and finally "All Time High" by Rita Coolidge for Octopussy. Looking forward to your future 007 experiences!
As I've mentioned earlier, I do like this concept where you can see the reactions of a 007 movie 'watcher' who is seeing the movie for the first time and see parts of the Bond film at the same time as well. I like the humor and I can also appreciate the fact that you really pay a lot a attention to the music score which normally doesn't get that much attention, unfortunately. My favorite thing is Bond’s bachelor pad!!!!!!!! The kitchen scene is so cool! I loved shows where there was no mom in the picture at all. Bachelor pad decor was rich wood, browns, contemporary, clean, quiet, calm. Independence and freedom. Butler instead of a mom on one show.
"I think I already like him as Bond! O my god, I like it already! This is my kinda Bond!" I love the wacky and wild Roger Moore era! He gets some great villains (RIP to Yaphet Kotto), the best henchfolk, hilarious gadgets, killer songs, and gorgeous girls. And Moore does it all with style despite his advanced age. In the Roger Moore era the producers decided they had to keep up with the cinematical trends of the time, so here we have Blacksploitation and in the next "The man with the golden gun" you have kung fu. The composer John Barry comes back with a 70s action packed score! I personally enjoy the film a lot but most critics prefer the next 1977 "The spy who loved me" . Curious to have your opinion!
Not to mention that in the next Bond film you have the iconic Christopher Lee (Dracula, Count Dooku, Saruman) going head to head with Bond as his equally matched rival....Fun fact - Christopher Lee was actually Bond author Ian Fleming's real life cousin and they would occasionally golf together until Fleming's passing in 1964. Lee said in later in interviews that he had a lot of fun (both on and off the set) with Roger while making the movie....and if you ever saw the original TV series Fantasy Island (which ran from 1978-1984) another 'little' character actor from that show plays one of the leads in that Bond film. Moore is my favorite Bond, but Brosnan is a very close second because Goldeneye was the first Bond I saw in a theater. I think the most iconic Bond will always be Connery, however. a 21 year old Jane Seymour playing Solitaire...I've always said I'd like to "see more" of Jane Seymour lol....She became a great actress. I saw this film in the Theater at age 17...had the soundtrack album...big fan of former Beatles member Paul McCartney who wrote and did the theme song [producer George Martin wrote the movie score and the orchestra parts for the hit single] for Live nd Let Die, went to #1, his second #1 in 1973. With his new group of the 1970's called Wings. Jane Seymore is about 73.
I'm glad you liked Roger. Before Bond, he was another iconic character, Simon Templar in The Saint on TV. The Saint is very smooth, debonair, and witty. Roger brought this style into his Bond. I believe he even kept the same tailor from The Saint for this first Bond movie...

Oh no, you mentioned Ben Hur. Should u see that?? By all means, YES YES. Hint: It's the perfect Easter movie. And if u want to see stunts, the chariot race is the biggest and greatest ever to be captured on film. You won't believe it was filmed in 1960, has one of the greatest stories ever told. Again, it is a must watch, a bucket's list to watch and all that and Charlton Heston is superb to watch.
15:14, that stunt took the stuntman 6 times to do. This movie had one of the most iconic boat chases during the day. You should always watch the dvds as they always come with a bunch of special features. Of course, the great TH-cam has some. Also, I'm just loving that you are continuing Bondy. You will have so much fun. The next one, The Man With The Golden Gun is next with one of the greatest actors playing the villain. Moore's ultimate fan favorite though will be The Spy Who Loved Me with the most unforgettable henchman ever. The 'Jamaican guy with the boat' is meant to be the same character 'Quarrel' from Doctor No. He is I believe briefly mentioned as Quarrel's son in one Bond or another. He's actually a character that appears quite often, is usually played by a different actor, and so joins the group of characters such as Bond himself, Felix Leiter, Quarrel, and it would probably also have included Mathis, if he hadn't been limited to a single appearance far too late in the series of films.

Many would argue that Connery is the best bond, and I wouldn't argue against that notion, but Moore might be my favorite. And yes, you should absolutely check out Ben-Hur whether for the channel or just for yourself. It's a long film, but a classic.

Roger Moore was the original choice to play Bond,but was under contract in a British TV series called The Saint .next is The Man With The Golden Gun.I'm sure you will like the theme song to that one too.
The Poppy fields' explosions are classic British SFX, as they were done by effects technicians who learned their trade on the Gerry Anderson shows Supercar, Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet. They would go on to do much of the effects in the First Superman film, and many another well into the 1980s, such as Krull, The Keep and so on.
A couple notes, Live and Let Die is sang by Paul McCartney and Wings. Looked it up and guess Beatles broke up by this point, the fuenal parts are more tradition of New Orleans/Louisina area. Man with the Golden Gun and Moonraker are really good Bond movies to look forward to/react to with Roger Moore in them. Great reaction!!
Like Roger Moore bond as well. So great seeing you watch this. This movie has a special place for me. Was one of the first non-Disney movies I saw. The flaming skull on the movie screen kind freaked me out but loved the movie for sure.
Regarding Bond's ally Quarrel Jr.: the Bond novels were filmed out of order. If you remember, Bond teamed up with Quarrel in Dr. No. And Quarrel died in that movie, just as he did in the book. But Quarrel had already appeared in the book Live and Let Die (as had Strangways, the man killed by the Three Blind Mice at the start of Dr. No). So when Live and Let Die was finally adapted as a film, Quarrel became Quarrel Jr. as an explanation for the character's return. The film Live and Let Die left out some major scenes from the book, but those scenes will later appear in For Your Eyes Only and Licence to Kill. (By the 1980s, the producers had run out of Bond novels and started adapting Fleming's short stories, so there was plenty of room to repurpose scenes from the books that hadn't made it into their original film adaptations.)

Welcome to the Roger Moore era. I'm in the minority, but he's my favorite Bond. He doesn't at all have the cold steel that the other actors have, which is a bit of his detriment, but I love the humanity he brings to the role. He was also a few years older than Sean Connery, and he really shows his age towards the end. Still, Octopussy and For Your Eyes Only are my favorite Bond films of the entire series, and Moore pulls them off great.
BTW, the snake in the bathroom that you said has a cute face is a speckled kingsnake. They are totally harmless, and as snakes go, they make really awesome pets. Kingsnakes are very easygoing and have inquisitive personalities. I used to have several, and they would always come out to see what I was doing if I was in the room their cages were in.

This is the movie where I genuinely love Geoffrey Holder’s hypnotic, sleek and mischievous look play against Bond. Roger Moore certainly breathed new life in his incarnation during the 70s. Yaphet Kotto and Jane Seymour were incredible in this too, along with everyone else! Can’t wait for you to see Moore 😅🎉

Hello, Ms. Jen! "Live And Let Die" was the very first Bond film I saw as a boy, and for that very reason, Roger Moore was always the definitive Bond for me. Sean Connery was great, Pierce Brosnan was good, but Roger Moore was the face I identified with as 007. Throw in a kick ass theme song by Paul McCartney and Wings, and what's NOT to love?
The laughing voodoo guy in the tall hat was in some popular 7Up drink commercials in the 70's. Another super cool Bond reaction, Jen. I think you are really going to love Moore's collection of films if you enjoyed his first outing (though, as I mentioned previously, Moore was the FIRST screen adaptation of Bond starring in an older TV special in Britain). Growing up as a kid in the 90's, every December one of the cable stations, I believe it was TBS, played all of the Bond Movies out at the time. This was the first Bond movie I can remember seeing in it's entirety. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and something tells me you will enjoy The Man With The Golden Gun.

The theme song, Live and Let Die, isn't a Beatles song. The Beatles had already broken up by this point, and the song was written and composed by Paul McCartney and his new band, Wings, which he formed with his wife, Linda McCartney.
And the rest of the soundtrack was composed by his old Beatles producer, George Martin.
YES! You should see Ben-Hur (1959). The modern one is closer to the book, but not as engaging and the acting is sub par.
I love this movie, showcases Roger Moores strengths. I think most peoples issues with Roger More are with the later movies when he was really too old to play the part convincingly and they started to parody themselves. Saying that please don't skip any of the movies as even my least favourite film (Roger's last) has its moments

Yes! You should watch "Ben Hur". One of Hollywood's most iconic films, with a powerful performance by Charlton Heston. The chariot race scene is one of the most famous in film. You could work it in for Easter if you wanted. I think this was Roger Moore's strongest performance as Bond, he has a harder edge in this movie than in the following ones. If you like quips you're going to love Roger Moore. If you did a 'quip-counter' like your Bond girl counter it would probably explode. It got a bit old towards the end for me. After him they went back to more serious Bonds. His Bond films are still fun, I think you'll like them.

This is the first Bond film I saw as a kid and the graveyard/voodoo scene scared the hell out of me. Also, fun fact; The boat jump across the road was in the Guinness book of world records for the longs boat jump.

Roger Moore was one of the loveliest, most honourable men you could ever hope to meet. He was so funny too. Read his autobiographies and you’re reassured by how funny and kind he is. He and Lois Maxwell were lifelong friends.

Paul & Linda McCartney got an academy award nomination for it, but weirdly, lost to Marvin Hamlisch for that turgid, plodding theme from "The Way We Were." David Hedison who plays Felix, was a star on his own....he was the lead in the Lost World, and then played on the TV version of Voyage to the Bottom f the Sea as Captain Crane, with Richard Basehart [Admiral Nelson] about the super submarine, complete with commi spys, sea monsters and aliens and ghosts from 1964-68. He them guested on TV and movies. He and Roger Moore were friends from doing British TV together, McCartney's title song went to #1 on the charts in 1973.
I'm so glad Jen is reviewing Moore Bond. This was the first Bond film I ever saw, and it remains one of my very favorites to this day.

Solitaire was played by the very beautiful (and at that time young) actress Jane Seymour, who is every b it as beautiful today. She will be 72 in a few weeks. Moore was indeed a very good Bond. missed this when it first dropped but this was the first Bond movie I ever saw. My family taped it off of the television back in the 90s, I found the tape one day (when I was about 7 years old) and had heard of Bond through pop-culture, but this was the first time I actually saw a genuine James Bond film. To this day I cite it as the quintessential Bond film with all the best cliches thrown in. Gadgets, a great villain, exotic locations, love-interests who have actual depth, excellent stunts, and easily the best James Bond we've ever had, portrayed by Roger Moore.

May not be everyone's favorite, but Roger Moore was my favorite Bond. Perhaps it was because I was so young when his movies were coming out and use to always pretend I was him in my own 007 imagination. I also loved the music from his era of films the most. The Spy Who Loved Me with the great Carly Simon's "Nobody Does it Better", then "For Your Eyes Only" by Sheena Easton, and finally "All Time High" by Rita Coolidge for Octopussy. Looking forward to your future 007 experiences!

As I've mentioned earlier, I do like this concept where you can see the reactions of a 007 movie 'watcher' who is seeing the movie for the first time and see parts of the Bond film at the same time as well. I like the humor and I can also appreciate the fact that you really pay a lot a attention to the music score which normally doesn't get that much attention, unfortunately. So, thx for these videos and have fun watching all the other 007 adventures!

Roger Moore previously starred in the TV series, "The Saint." The later movie adaptation starred Val Kilmer and Elizabeth Shue.
I think Moore was first choice for 007 even over Connery -- but he was contractually obligated to stay with "The Saint".
My favorite thing is Bond’s bachelor pad!!!!!!!! The kitchen scene is so cool!
I loved shows where there was no mom in the picture at all. Bachelor pad decor was rich wood, browns, contemporary, clean, quiet, calm.

In the Roger Moore era the producers decided they had to keep up with the cinematical trends of the time, so here we have Blacksploitation and in the next "The man with the golden gun" you have kung fu. The composer John Barry comes back with a 70s action packed score! I personally enjoy the film a lot but most critics prefer the next 1977 "The spy who loved me" . Curious to have your opinion!

Not to mention that in the next Bond film you have the iconic Christopher Lee (Dracula, Count Dooku, Saruman) going head to head with Bond as his equally matched rival....Fun fact - Christopher Lee was actually Bond author Ian Fleming's real life cousin and they would occasionally golf together until Fleming's passing in 1964. Lee said in later in interviews that he had a lot of fun (both on and off the set) with Roger while making the movie....and if you ever saw the original TV series Fantasy Island (which ran from 1978-1984) another 'little' character actor from that show plays one of the leads in that Bond film. Moore is my favorite Bond, but Brosnan is a very close second because Goldeneye was the first Bond I saw in a theater. I think the most iconic Bond will always be Connery, however.

I saw this film in the Theater at age 17...had the soundtrack album...big fan of former Beatles member Paul McCartney who wrote and did the theme song [producer George Martin wrote the movie score and the orchestra parts for the hit single] for Live nd Let Die, went to #1, his second #1 in 1973. I'm glad you liked Roger. Before Bond, he was another iconic character, Simon Templar in The Saint on TV. The Saint is very smooth, debonair, and witty. Roger brought this style into his Bond. I believe he even kept the same tailor from The Saint for this first Bond movie...

15:14, that stunt took the stuntman 6 times to do. This movie had one of the most iconic boat chases during the day. You should always watch the dvds as they always come with a bunch of special features. Of course, the great TH-cam has some.
Also, I'm just loving that you are continuing Bondy. You will have so much fun. The next one, The Man With The Golden Gun is next with one of the greatest actors playing the villain.
Moore's ultimate fan favorite though will be The Spy Who Loved Me with the most unforgettable henchman ever. Also, the actor, David Hedison who played Felix Leiter here will return as Felix Leiter in a future Bond movie.

The 'Jamaican guy with the boat' is meant to be the same character 'Quarrel' from Doctor No.
He is I believe briefly mentioned as Quarrel's son in one Bond or another.
He's actually a character that appears quite often, is usually played by a different actor, and so joins the group of characters such as Bond himself, Felix Leiter, Quarrel, and it would probably also have included Mathis, if he hadn't been limited to a single appearance far too late in the series of films.

The Poppy fields' explosions are classic British SFX, as they were done by effects technicians who learned their trade on the Gerry Anderson shows Supercar, Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet. They would go on to do much of the effects in the First Superman film, and many another well into the 1980s, such as Krull, The Keep and so on.
A couple notes, Live and Let Die is sang by Paul McCartney and Wings. Looked it up and guess Beatles broke up by this point, the fuenal parts are more tradition of New Orleans/Louisina area. Man with the Golden Gun and Moonraker are really good Bond movies to look forward to/react to with Roger Moore in them. Great reaction!!

Like Roger Moore bond as well. So great seeing you watch this. This movie has a special place for me. Was one of the first non-Disney movies I saw. The flaming skull on the movie screen kind freaked me out but loved the movie for sure.
Regarding Bond's ally Quarrel Jr.: the Bond novels were filmed out of order. If you remember, Bond teamed up with Quarrel in Dr. No. And Quarrel died in that movie, just as he did in the book. But Quarrel had already appeared in the book Live and Let Die (as had Strangways, the man killed by the Three Blind Mice at the start of Dr. No). So when Live and Let Die was finally adapted as a film, Quarrel became Quarrel Jr. as an explanation for the character's return.
The film Live and Let Die left out some major scenes from the book, but those scenes will later appear in For Your Eyes Only and Licence to Kill. (By the 1980s, the producers had run out of Bond novels and started adapting Fleming's short stories, so there was plenty of room to repurpose scenes from the books that hadn't made it into their original film adaptations.)
The way you tell if its a croc or alligator is to say goodbye to it. If it says in awhile its a crocodile, if it says see you later its an alligator!
