Nice job. Think I might have countersunk the top side area of the rivet so a pot would set flat better and the rivet would be really stronger. Just my opinion. Good job thou, take care and God bless.
It's a good idea - I can understand your logic. But the feet are actually higher than the rivet on both sides (hard to see). But a countersunk rivet would look better... Thanks.
that came out really nice! I wasn't sure how it was going to work, but either that pot is huge, or the trivet is smaller than I was imagining. fun to see the bending jig at work again. the overhead view at 1:30 was a great angle, too.
Some have criticized the overhead view but I also like it, sometimes... I think the trivet seems larger than it really is - my anvil and fire being small... Thanks.

Glen: Two questions: 1) Why did you use a flatter or other tool when setting the central rivet rather than just the hammer? 2) Wouldn't it have made sense to counter sink the legs and the central rivet so that the legs and the rivet heads would be in a single plane? It seems to me that the trivet would be more useful with a uniform surface. Having the legs and rivet proud makes it more probable that something set on it would tip. Good video and good, pleasing design.
It is certainly possible but it would have been difficult for me and probably distorted the center of the piece too much. But definitely something worth trying. If I ever get back to using coal, I will do more forge welding. Thanks.

I had a master to teach me and the humility of the work that you do not have, makes you a bad worker, because when you don't master your art .... you learn, before believing yourself good and making videos, showing what to do !! this is my first lesson !! 2 nd when we do forge, we must cool its material completely and surely not with water .. if you had a minimum of know-how in forges, you would know .. you want more ?? learn your job first ... me I do not put in Tutu to show 2 steps of ridiculous dance, saying that I am strong in classical dance, there you do the same ... your piece will be rusty in less than two, because the humid heat will make it rust, you know the carbon in the steel ?? no, that's why I say that you don't know your job, because you do it without intelligence or reflections ...
@@gerardcastinel2458 As already said here, what you did not learn was humility... also did not learn the difference between carbon steel and mild steel (if you still do not know the difference... ask your master) additionally, assuming others do not know what they are doing is th first sign of "low intelligence". Anybody with a minimum IQ assumes that others are not dumb. Finally, what this gentleman is doing is sharing some ways to do some things using some techniques (very useful to someone that cannot afford a master...) , and again because some people do not assume that others are dumb before comment, they see other videos from this gentleman, where you can find some techniques that can be used to avoid rust... Humility and some intelligence... :-)
