Love the reviews in general, but have to disagree with the verdict on the Versatrax: I don't think it's fair to compare the Versatrax to a stroller three times the price, like Uppababy Cruz. If I pay nearly 1000 bucks, I expect the stroller to perform as such. I don't expect a stroller for 1/3rd of the price to perform just as well. The Versatrax does a fine job for its price tag and when bought as a set, at least comes with a reliably tested, safe car seat. Some people just don't use a stroller enough to warrant an expensive purchase. My pet peeve though: a lie-flat car seat is fine for a short trip but can never offer the convenience and health advantages of a bassinet (being buckled up vs. being free to move, 157° surface vs 180°, etc.). A car seat should primarily be used for transportation inside a vehicle. Using a carseat outside the car instead increases the likelihood of damage, which impacts its ability to properly protect the child in case of an accident. Drops, improper use, and frequent exposure to fluctuating temperatures can cause tiny cracks in the plastic. Microcracks can barely be detected but severely affect the protective function of a car seat. Car seats aren't an ideal alternative to bassinets or reclinable seats and should not be promoted as such. Better rent, buy used, or borrow a compatible bassinet. In some areas of the world, high-end strollers are either ridiculously over-priced or unavailable, and a Joie Versatrax then far outshines cheap umbrella strollers or poorly constructed mass products that break from merely being looked at. My 2 cents 😄
I have owned so many strollers and hands down, my favorite is the Mios. I saw the new model and was interested in it for maybe a minute, but it just didn’t seem genuinely better than what I had. Really glad I wasn’t tempted to buy it now!
Hi there, did you by any chance ever make a video on which parts of the Joolz Day (not Day +) are washable? I wonder which parts of that one I can wash in the machine safely and which not. Also, I wonder if I can wash the foam mattress of that one in the machine. If you could answer those questions, would be highly appreciated. Thank you!
Any components without hard parts inside can generally be washed in a washing machine on a gentle cold cycle (and hung up to dry). The mattress can also be washed in the machine provided that it isn't dried out / brittle feeling - BUT, when we're talking about an older stroller where the fabrics are pretty worn, then it's better to wash by hand in a basin anyway. :)
