This is unit 2 of VTVM’s that I needed to repair for the Maker Space. Spring board off of knowledge gained on the first unit restoration This one was a lot quicker. Lost of the same errors in both units and almost the exact same procedure in repairing the meter. But all is good and now ready to make some measurements.
** Repair exposes the Tech to mains electric and should only be done by trained personnel. Errors can be fatal. **

I have that same unit coming in on Thursday I think . The previous owner said it was working when his dad had a TV and radio shop ... How long ago , I don't know , but my Uncle had a TV and radio shop in the 50's , 60's , 70's and 80's .... So it could be working great out of the box or a unit that has to be restored cap and resistor wise. I will check it first though ... I do thank you for your time to make these videos ...

This might be a tip... The black knobs have oxidized and lost their luster... Maybe automobile dash cleaner/restorer would brighten them up?

What did you use for the anti-static treatment?

Dawn dish soap (undiluted) wipe on and keep wiping till clear (DO NOT rinse off)
