I dont see anyone else talking about this, so ill say it here: Urouge is most certainly the man marked by flames. He has a flame tattoo completely surrounding his right arm, which is the superficial evidence, but more than that, narratively, if theres anyone who we dont know much about and is the biggest mystery amongst the supernovas, its him. The man marked by flames must be someone we already know, because if not, there would be no point to keeping their identity vague. He also seems to be someone who knows a lot about the world, and has a ton of knowledge about skypeia, a place where most pirates have never been. If nobody on the sea knows about the final poneglyph, doesnt it make sense that it may be in the sky? And if it is, it makes perfect sense for urouge to be the only one on the seas to know about it, except for the remaining roger pirates of course. Story wise, as well, it makes perfect sense for him to be coming into the story soon if he has that knowledge.
But why wouldn't Kidd just call him Mad Monk or Urouge then? I just don't see Kidd playing along with this "mysterious" moniker. Especially not when he is alone with his crew.

"Ore wa Kaminari, Ame no Kenshin" which translated to I am lightning the face of rain but "Kami nari" means "I am divinity/God whose face is rain" Luffy is obviously the sun God and I think IMU is the God of earth.. and I assume we get a God of the forest in Elbaf because its the "forest of giants" It will all tie together in the end xD
Urouge's DF could make Blackbeard even better since the Yami Yami amplifies his physical damage taken and work together or maybe nullify the damage completely
I love Urouge, he genuinely is one of the most unpredictable remaining elements in the story and it could go so many ways with him. The only thing I would have maybe still wished for is a more fletched out crew, because his crew is so underexplored and seemingly unimportant that even the vice captain looks like a generic fodder.

I don't know if Oda would've researched this deep, but the first person to bring Christianity to Sweden was a monk named Ansgar. His first congregation was settled in Birka year 830, very much in the middle of swedens viking age. So Urouge, a monk, going to Elbaf (viking place) and doing some faith thematic things could be quite the allegory. But I don't know why anyone outside of Sweden would know this, so quite a longshot.
A longshot, but certainly a close one, since Oda has been known to make use of such lesser known facts of real world history as inspiration for world building within One Piece, which is evident by the use of thunderbird mythology associated with Mayan civilization, the mystery of Bermuda triangle, and the concept of aliens.
I really can't wait for Urouge to interact with the Strawhats. We kind of barely got much of him pre-timeskip and the only time I can recall him post-timeskip is him watching Kaido fall and in Stampede (which isn't even canon). But I hope we get some more proper quirks and some nice backstory from him. Also low key interested to see how he fare against Sanji who loves admiring and perving on women whilst Urouge has lovemaking as a hobby. 😂
Urouge was also the first Worst Generation member to take down a commander level enemy (snack), fought an Admiral and a Pacifista (Sabaody), and had one of the lowest Bounties when he was introduced. I really hope he isn't short changed like Hawkins and Drake to simply a member of BB's fleet.

Also he’ll probably have a tragic backstory with Eneru of some description. Definitely not coping for Eneru to come back nope
If Oda ever brings Enel back from the moon, I hope he pairs the two of them together: a bit like the Impel Down breakout, where both Luffy and Crocodile begrudgingly worked together to get out of there. Urouge is a Sky Islander himself, and may've heard of Enel, or crossed paths with him sometime in the past; either way, he may know what Enel is like and would only join forces with him out of necessity. (Then Luffy will show up, to be the glue keeping the two together; which could lead to a three-party alliance, because they'd be after similar goals. 😅 .)
Nolands descendant searched for the golden city underwater, while it was above him. Enel searched for Vearth above him , while it was underwater. Classic Oda.
Seeing the juxtaposition of rouge who lost his faith in Nika and the giants who after all these centuries have kept their faith would be an awesome second to last fight in Elbaf. I’d love to see the straw hats have to climb up the tree to get the ponegliff, and it would be a good way for usopp and franky to get their much needed power up with the dials

You forget about the part were the sky night says there are other passages to get to skypia indicating a sort of system to get accross to other sky islands, and the fact that they have their own currencie that they charged people to visit, indicating at least some islands are closely connected like how below they refer to currencies as berries below

yeaaah sure, important stuff under the ocean... but I still think Enel is right, in the sense that there IS something extremely important high up. In Skypeia the bell (which called the souls of the relatives to inhabit the sacred trees and was like their most valuable artifact) ended up being found as high as possible, it was right at the top of Giant Jack. Given how much Skypeia represents the wider mysteries of the world generally, I find it super duper extremely hard to believe that there isn't some equivalent of the bell in Elbaf at the top of the giant tree we see there.
Ive put together a similar idea on Reddit involving enel, urouge, imu & Birka. I think the Maxim has more ties to the governments weapon than qe think. In a nutshell: birka was an advanced civilization guarding the Rumble fruit. The maxim was likely designed there and the fruit powered the weapon and the city. Enel, craving power, stole the rumble fruit and destroyed birka right after .
Dude i made a comment a while ago that the fairy vearth Enel searched might be the blue seas below now hidden due to the flood. But i think he disregarded below because there was no endless stretch of land there. Now i have another theory for you, since old birka was powered by electricity what if enel's devil fruit was passed down through generations in the new birka with mission to power the city. Enel may have taken the power in his own hand and gone rogue to fulfill the ancient promise of taking his people to the fairy vearth. Joyboy may have promised the Birkans just like fishmen to bring them to the surface world, a world full of endless strech of land the fairy vearth. On another note Fairy Vearth may be the name of the one piece planet.

Black beard has the ability to separate personality’s hence why shanks has a counter part. Same way he is able to have multiple devil fruits. Joy boy is able to give haki to others. Powers are interconnected in a similar fashion that is how the flow of a river into an ocean.
We've been seeing all sorts of unexpected characters take part in the last few arcs, and Urouge is one of the few remaining characters that we haven't at least seen in either Wano or Egghead. So I'm certain that he's going to be fleshed out soon, and even if this theory doesn't turn out to be correct, I'm sure he's going to have a huge role to play.

Rmb this guy was the first among all the supernovas 1. Went to Sky Island, literally born in the sky 2. Went head to head with pacifista alone, almost beating it. Even SH had to take down a pacifista together 3. Took down a yonko commander before Luffy 4. Didnt show fear against Kaido but you can see Kidd, Hawkins all did... Much Respected!

I wonder if Urouge could be a Birkan-Lunarian hybrid. He seems very tough, stronger and taller than average Sky Island people. And his wings look bigger and could be capable of flight.

yeaaah sure, important stuff under the ocean... but I still think Enel is right, in the sense that there IS something extremely important high up. In Skypeia the bell (which called the souls of the relatives to inhabit the sacred trees and was like their most valuable artifact) ended up being found as high as possible, it was right at the top of Giant Jack. Given how much Skypeia represents the wider mysteries of the world generally, I find it super duper extremely hard to believe that there isn't some equivalent of the bell in Elbaf at the top of the giant tree we see there.
Ive put together a similar idea on Reddit involving enel, urouge, imu & Birka.
I think the Maxim has more ties to the governments weapon than qe think.
In a nutshell: birka was an advanced civilization guarding the Rumble fruit. The maxim was likely designed there and the fruit powered the weapon and the city. Enel, craving power, stole the rumble fruit and destroyed birka right after .
When you mention how there may be a whole other world in the sky you remind me of what tears of the kingdom could have been, and it's sad...
Dude i made a comment a while ago that the fairy vearth Enel searched might be the blue seas below now hidden due to the flood. But i think he disregarded below because there was no endless stretch of land there.
Now i have another theory for you, since old birka was powered by electricity what if enel's devil fruit was passed down through generations in the new birka with mission to power the city. Enel may have taken the power in his own hand and gone rogue to fulfill the ancient promise of taking his people to the fairy vearth. Joyboy may have promised the Birkans just like fishmen to bring them to the surface world, a world full of endless strech of land the fairy vearth.
On another note Fairy Vearth may be the name of the one piece planet.

Black beard has the ability to separate personality’s hence why shanks has a counter part. Same way he is able to have multiple devil fruits. Joy boy is able to give haki to others. Powers are interconnected in a similar fashion that is how the flow of a river into an ocean.
One thing I've seen very few people mention is how "Imu" is the opposite of Ocean "Umi", might not mean a whole bunch, but I find it pretty cool
You are like three years late on all the juicy theories on that, Im afraid!
We've been seeing all sorts of unexpected characters take part in the last few arcs, and Urouge is one of the few remaining characters that we haven't at least seen in either Wano or Egghead. So I'm certain that he's going to be fleshed out soon, and even if this theory doesn't turn out to be correct, I'm sure he's going to have a huge role to play.

if this theory holds any water i just cant see how the show could really be wrapping up if theres a whole world under the sea and now an entire world in the sky like a north sky, west, east, south, like the different blues (if i understood what you were saying correctly). not to mention that luffy tells crocus that if he doesnt get the correct path he'll gladly start over and try again and if theres 6 more paths to try thats a lot of everything holy shit

It would actually lend itself pretty well if Urouge was a former priest of Enel because of the symbolism between Doflamingo with his family and Imu with the Gorosei. Each one thinks themself a god, loses one of their priests (possibly with Imu, we’ll see) and is indirectly undermined by them

oh shit, 6:24 I just realized when Ace lost to Blackbeard, Blackbeard literally said its the Sun vs Darkness, so Ace never stood a chance: 1. He didn't have the sun fruit, and 2. his attack was called Flame Emperor, but that title was not his, it's Sabo's. Guess the final fight might have been foreshadowed that long ago and maybe Sabo will be the one to end Blackbeard, or instrumental in doing so.
I am now convinced that Urouge's weapon is actually a giant hex key to activate the drain of the One Piece world.

Dark-Dark fruit belonged to and maybe was created/willed into existence by joy boy’s most powerful opponent, and because blackbeard sought and ate that fruit despite being a d clan member, he is now a traitor to the d clan
