Could possibly be gun bluing..
I have a custom Heretic Medusa that has a gun bluing damascus blade.
Which those scales look alot like in color..
Gun bluing on damascus seems odd. Usually, ferric chloride is used to etch, but I suppose the bluing might be used afterwards for some protection, looks. Odd to me, for sure.
@@Rottidog68 I agree too. But, that's what it looks like on my Medusa. It kinda looks like a clear coat on the blade with blue and red colors underneath..
