I think it's funny that a lot of the stuff was too light for jackie because all of milani's complexion products in the lightest shades are wayyy too dark for me so clearly they're doin trash on both ends of the spectrum but if you're mildly tan they got ya covered lol

Usually for drugstore makeup there’s a maximum of 8 shades all of them light/medium. It’s so bad, when I tried to get my mixed friend into makeup (who’s like 5 shades lighter than you) all I could find her was MAC and bodyshop foundation, we need some help up in here.
Milani doesn't have a good medium to dark shade range along with pale. I am pretty pale and they didn't have my shade. It was abt two to three shades too dark. So yeah they definitely need a better shade range for pale people and especially darker shades.

That foundation is usually really long wearing on me and I also have very oily skin, but that primer is awful and not long wearing at all. Try the foundation again with your favorite primer(:

I could be wrong, but I think Milani’s original business model was more catered towards woman of color. I think they’ve definitely lost that in recent years which is very sad. They have some of my personal favorite products at the drugstore, but I am obviously very light. I do have a very strong olive undertone that I think milani caters to very well.
Yea I thought so too +Natalie Palmer. They basically only have 2 "light" shades which are oompa loompa and donald trump and I've seen several times when someone would comment about them needing more light shades, someone would respond "well Milani isn't really meant for light women, it is meant for women of color so get over it." No lie, I've seen this type of comment more than once so I'm assuming many others think it is for women of color too.
gucci mane you’re right they were originally focused on the Italian market. but like Jackie said, there was a point where they had a much deeper foundation range and were more geared towards women of color in the American market. I think that’s where a lot of the confusion comes from.They’re definitely back to catering to just more medium skin tones. Girl..light skin girls have the same issue too. The damn undertones!!! Story of my life. I'm a light olive undertone. Everything is PINK or dark on me. Please people, expand to the masses..not everyone is blond hair blue eyes with pink undertones. Get with the program...like yesterday. 🙄

Very drying but only one of the 5 I've tried actually flakes on me and that's the vampy color sugar. I absolutely cannot wear it and I love the color! The rest...Vaseline then lip balm then apply. 😂 I still love them.

Honestly, I think Milani has stepped up their makeup game in recent years (formula especially)...Though, as a nail artist I'm still a bit salty that they changed the nail polish line...The old formula is still the best polish I've ever used!!
I have the foundation in Golden Toffee and it’s my exact shade I’m pleasantly pleased. I like the highlighters, like the glosses, but don’t care for the lipsticks.
Tartes clay translucent powder works amazing with Milani foundation! It keeps your face from getting oily all day and you only have to use a tiny amount to bake with! I swear they are a match made in heaven 😍❤

Not only do their shades not go dark enough, but they don't go light enough either, I'm usually the lightest or second lightest and even their 00 shade is about 3 shades too dark for me.

I'm big mad about that Maybelline age rewind sponge applicator concealer, I've wanted to try it for some time, but they only have it in 5 shades of beige!! 😭😭
It's SUCH a good concealer but I can't use it!! The light and light medium are too light, and the medium is the same color as my face. Terrible shade range, but a great product-- I use it all the time on other people with the same skin type (oilyAF) and it works great!!
I understand that, but it's a pain in the ass to have to order something without trying it and then make the returns if it turns out to not work. I'm lucky in that I can find stuff that works for me in-stores, since I'm a light-medium rather than a dark or deep!! My undertone is what makes things a bit tricky

danielle garcia probably depends on if ur skin wants to be a little more oily than usual or not in other words it oxidizes try to remember what moisturizer u used when u like the foundation the best and always use that when u wear that particular foundation
kay brown I use the same moisturizers and primers. Nothing changes because my skin is sensitive so it’s nothing to do with my daily routine. It is literally just the product. Only that product. Fentydoesnt do that neither did wet and wild or fit me. Justtttt milani. And I love milani. Just the foundation is a flop

They were definitely more women of color friendly about 5 years ago. They used to carry shades up to Duckie’s complexion. Now, not so much.

Very drying but only one of the 5 I've tried actually flakes on me and that's the vampy color sugar. I absolutely cannot wear it and I love the color! The rest...Vaseline then lip balm then apply. 😂 I still love them.

Honestly, I think Milani has stepped up their makeup game in recent years (formula especially)...Though, as a nail artist I'm still a bit salty that they changed the nail polish line...The old formula is still the best polish I've ever used!!

I have the foundation in Golden Toffee and it’s my exact shade I’m pleasantly pleased. I like the highlighters, like the glosses, but don’t care for the lipsticks.

Tartes clay translucent powder works amazing with Milani foundation! It keeps your face from getting oily all day and you only have to use a tiny amount to bake with! I swear they are a match made in heaven 😍❤
Their matte setting spray is my holy grail. The only downside is it has a strong scent.

Not only do their shades not go dark enough, but they don't go light enough either, I'm usually the lightest or second lightest and even their 00 shade is about 3 shades too dark for me.
They have 2 new light shades. They are finally light enough for me (I'm usually the lightest or next to lightest shade) but the undertones are wrong for me

It's SUCH a good concealer but I can't use it!! The light and light medium are too light, and the medium is the same color as my face. Terrible shade range, but a great product-- I use it all the time on other people with the same skin type (oilyAF) and it works great!!
I understand that, but it's a pain in the ass to have to order something without trying it and then make the returns if it turns out to not work. I'm lucky in that I can find stuff that works for me in-stores, since I'm a light-medium rather than a dark or deep!! My undertone is what makes things a bit tricky

danielle garcia probably depends on if ur skin wants to be a little more oily than usual or not in other words it oxidizes try to remember what moisturizer u used when u like the foundation the best and always use that when u wear that particular foundation

kay brown I use the same moisturizers and primers. Nothing changes because my skin is sensitive so it’s nothing to do with my daily routine. It is literally just the product. Only that product. Fentydoesnt do that neither did wet and wild or fit me. Justtttt milani. And I love milani. Just the foundation is a flop
