I mean I loved the newest release!! So much actually lol but nothing will ever live up to souvenirs 🔥 that Djent tone was just too perfect. The album is an absolute banger. The newest one is too tho! But I was so heartbroken hearing the singers department.
Maybe Matteo’s swan song after all... Big loss for Novelists but the writing core is still alive, don’t doubt you will come back stronger guys! And nice « remix » of the original track, such an emotional song ❤️🤘
I sincerely doubt that anyone will ever replace Matteo. I rank this band among my top three favorites in my life. I grew up in the 80s with the greats - Iron Maiden , Rush, etc., and I've enjoyed these guys every bit as much as those bands. I've learned along the way that sometimes changes happen that we don't like, and it's best just to hold on to what we loved about a band before those changes happen. I have no idea what's going on with Matteo and the guys, but neither will be what they were without the other, and that's a damn shame. Such nice and gracious guys, too. I really had high hopes for them together. This whole thing felt like a breakup for me. But hey...that's life. C'est la vie. What a fitting album name for a final album.
Yikes, so many issues with this comment. Let me start by saying, Matteo is a phenomenal singer and it's definitely a loss. Where we disagree is that "neither will be what they were without the other". So the incredibly talented guitarist Florestan will just lose all that skill with out Matteo?? As a guitarist myself and a HUGE fan of instrumental bands like Plini, Intervals, Scale the Summit, etc....I hate this notion that vocals/singers make the band. Vocals do help give a band identity, but it doesn't HAVE to be the case. "But most people don't like instrumental"...okay very true, but singers CAN and HAVE been replaced and worked fine: ERRA, Monuments, or ever of Killswitch Engage? (weird example with them, as original singer Jess is back), Jesse left, they got Howard Jones and won a Grammy nomination. There are Novelists auditions you can find on TH-cam right not that sound amazing. They won't be Matteo, but they have the potential to be great. Probably not for you because you clearly like Matteo (perhaps a bit too much), but for me they at least earn a chance from me. One thing I can say about Matteo is I didn't really like his scream vocals. Too one note...where's the deep growls and higher pitched screams. Just hovered in literally one range on the scream side. Perhaps a new singer can do that for them.

They do now! Camille Contreras (Featured on C'est La Vie) is now the vocalist. They announced this back in September. Definitely check her out. She's a nice compliment to the band. The sound has changed a bit, but not in a bad way. Although, I will say.... Nothing well ever compare to the golden melodies that they made with Matteo. Nonetheless, I will never stop supporting them.
