This was ahead of its time
Still is.
Or behind. As it would fit perfectly in the mid 80's
no its not, it's synthpop... which basically hit its prime in the 80s
well her music is
@@Zesrii Well you're right it's synthpop which is basically based to the 80s but her looking is
futuristic and the combination of both parts is the reason why it still is ahead of it's time
This song was so ahead of it's time when this came out but now it just fits perfectly in today's technological environment
Actually, it is very retro. It is reminiscent of early 80's synth pop. Even the video itself is very 80's.

@@gambit85 Um... That started at late 2010's, not 2000's and this song is from 2009. Simply doing song in similar patterns to 80's synthpop songs isn't how the revival got started.

Love how this music is still modern that’s how futuristic it was
Swtnrbby seemed very 80s to me
eh please timeless and futuristic are two completely different things. you don't even understand what you say. try to listen to Depeche Mode between 1986 to 1997 and realise that they were so innovative that 99% of all electronic dance music from this millennium is made out of Depeche Mode. they're easily more influential than The Beatles. for example, u2 once admitted that they've spent half their career to try to create their own Black Celebration. "but we can't", they said. "it's beyond our limits."
WWEXDCGamer This song (baby) actually throws a T-808 in there, which was a synthiser very common in 80s pop
Retro is the new modern? It's like a MIDI track.

Paul M Because TH-cam wasn't popular worldwide in 2010.
Richard Galindo That's not the reason.... I was 11-12 in 2010 and youtube was very popular. If that was the case then why do so music videos uploaded to youtube prior to 2010 have 200+ million views? This song doesn't have that many views simply because it only became a hit in a few countries, specifically the US, Australia, and Canada.
Joshua Anthony I was 15 in 2010. TH-cam is popular all over the world these days, which means that music videos get a ton of views these days. I was a teenager during those days and I remember only a few music videos getting over 200M views during 2008-2010. Lots of people can agree with me.

This is how people in the 1980's imagined 2010.
Such a perfect comment .. !!
Lets be honest....this whole thing feels 2010 in a wierd way
Lmfaoooo
This actually was '09 and it screams '09. There was something weird going on between '08 and '10 where "old" artists had their last hits and new artists came up, some of these new artists are still popular today. And a certain style of music was popular in these two years. In 2010 it started to change again to something more dance/virtual beat influenced were still familiar with ten years later. Even the artists from before changed their styles. We don't know the (electro)pop and r&b from before 2010 anymore, these genres have changed alot.
Did go a bit off topic here but I was just thinking about it when I came across this video. Sorry for that.

Is a legend in dubstep. La Roux's vocals are distinguished. Remixes of In for the Kill are timeless.

It's weird that every generation thinks their music is king and the new shit is no good. What's weirder is we legit keep doing that even though music is subjective and we know very well this happens and our parents did this too. This is a great track.
This is dope.
People in general are idiots. The only thing we're good at is making stuff.
