This is a fine casual deck to play, but don't expect to be anywhere remotely competitive when you die to 1 ht and NEED crossout/1 of CBTG to survive every single game. The Pendulum Magician version, which goes a lot more combo-heavy and play less non-engine (but can still side into non-engine), is the superior version to play, which doesn't really lose to any handtrap or even multiple ones, that are not exactly Droll and even then, you will still put up 1 omni + Apollo in most scenarios. This also loses to any generic s/t removal (cosmic/duster/storm/deck-specific stuff/etc.) that axes your trap before playing, unless you have exactly Vortex in addition to your end-board and there's nothing else to bait/negate the Vortex, if you even manage to end on 1 + Gate Magician in the first place, as you cannot make Exceed with Absolute in order to revive the Gate. This version sacrifices faaar too much for faar too little, but is memey and can be fun, if that's what you're looking for. Pendulum decks are NOT 1/1.5 card combo decks and will probably never be - If that's what you want to play, Pendulum is not your deck, there's plenty of other options. Playing too much non-engine, like in this example, will leave you losing to your deck half of the games, since in any remotely competitive scene, you will have to answer to atleast an Ash/Imperm/Veiler/etc. on a regular basis. Just imagine the amount of 5 card combinations with the showcased decklist that literally do nothing first OR second, which increases even further if counting atleast 1 ht of the above-mentioned ones or a potentially established board, that competitive decks put through interruption.
There is actually a version with a Predaplant engine which ends on so many interruptions and also you can drop a lot of the extra deck dimension dragons by simply playing the Link-3 GranSolfachord Coolia which makes sure your Z-ARC effect goes off by only playing the Soul Of The Supreme King to pay half LP and cheat Z-ARC out that way. It's a very flexible deck actually
In my opinion this deck is not really afraid of bystials. When you use dragon shrine to send darkwurm to gy, you can't get bystial because you don't control monsters on tour field. And if you control a monster, you can't use darkwurm effect to special summon itself. Getting handtrap on supreme king gate magician is more difficult to play around because it shut down both the search of the trap and the scale effect of lightwurm.
I think he means if you get bystial after summoning darkwurm. If your pendulum dragon is banished by bystial then you cant activate your trap to summon zarc
Honestly I have a great deck profile for this ending on Borrel, Apollo, vortex, GS coolia a trap interupt, with a non target send, hand traps, and board wipes on your opponent’s turn, you can literally get a monster negate ( crystal clear wing) with three cards
Odd eyes Rebellion xyz Dragon can't be used as xyz material the turn it is xyz summoned. Otherwise nice deck profile. Have you thought about teching the pendulum Magician's?

My deck has 2 card combo to pull out Z-ARC but in the pendulum scale for more control + Apollousa + Vortex Dragon + Borrelload dragon and 1 Kashtira Arise-Heart(Since it is banned in TCG, can replace by any xyz monster that require 2-3 level 7 monster)
Could you make a All-Eyes Phantom Dragon deck profile. All-Eyes is my ace monster and it and I have been trying to make a difference in the TCG format. I use three copies of if the deck profile can use three that would be amazing.
This deck can't survive against other meta decks without Electrumite 1 Beyond is also dangerous considering that your opponent will have gazillion hand traps and 1 card combo deck Pend mostly sucks in TCG because of Pendulum hate in west But its not bad for day to day play Also dont forget that star pendulumgraph can also search Supreme King Gate Magician So you have option of teching magicians(If you are very lucky you can use Astrograph to summon Z-arc with sending clear wing with Gate Magician and using Double Iris Black Fang and Purple Poison but you would need Timestar and Wisdom eye also you need to be bit lucky) I would suggest you to replace Supreme King Dragon Dark Rebellion with something else That card is almost useless Chrono is also at 3 so you can play that with timegazer to extend your combos But Timegazer is bit of risk reward card and if you dont play magicians with it you might get that card as brick With magicians though it becomes nice extender with 3 Chronographs Edit:If you play Magicians option You also might consider lightwurm to make 1 in deck
I recommend playing chronograph sorc because it’s at 3 in tcg and is a fantastic extender

I’m playing this deck. I normally play the new age pendulum magician deck without Z-ARC. The big combo version.

Technically you can if you use another Dragon that is a pendulum, or have the other trap that summons Zarc but negates it's effects.

Bystials dont resolve. Because they are only quick effects when you have a monster.
