Visit Sugarloaf Mountain (Pão de Açúcar) 2020

Pão de Açúcar (Sugarloaf Mountain) is literally the best view of Rio de Janeiro. You get an incredible 360 view of the city. Sugarloaf is beautiful anytime of the day but sunset is absolutely breathtaking.
Now is a great time to go because there are little to no lines and very few people up at the top. December and January are the summertime/high season in Brazil. If possible, come during the other times of the year for the lowest amount of crowds. If that’s not possible, I recommend coming mid week. The weekends are much busier.
All of the usual Covid regulations are in place. Limited capacity, masks and lots of alcohol gel stations.
If you’re visiting Rio this is a mandatory stop. If your a local this would make an amazing date night. Don’t forget to bring your ID for a locals discount.
