The case has a compartment in the back for spare or pediatric pads. The device goes through a quick self-test to let the user know when it's ready. The AED device walks you through each step on the surface. The semi-automatic model tells the user when it's time to issue a shock, but the user has to actually press the shock button. Zoll is known for its real CPR feedback technology. Once the pads are placed, it measures the depth & rate of compressions helping to be in the perfect sweet spot of 100-120 compressions per minute, going 2" to 2.5" in depth.
