To be fair to Bamford in that situation, coaches will teach you to use the keeper’s momentum against him and shoot across goal as he did. It’s also easier for the striker ‘cos they hit the ball directly rather than having to judge the spin/flight of the ball and angle their foot right to guide it into the near post. There are aspects to his game that frustrate me but he didn’t do much wrong there imo, it’s just a great save. By the sound of it, he’s been working hard in training and pre-season to get more up to speed with the team than last year. Let’s not jump on his back before the season even starts.

I love the way we play football but we need to be more balanced defensively. When we lose the ball we are so open with the full backs past half way. Feel sorry for Cooper and Berardi. They're left in no man's land sometimes.
