Is the base of freeride bags and tour bags different? I know they are compatible, but is the waist strap design or shoulder straps designed differently?

Does it auto-deflate after a short time to create an air pocket in case of burial?

were is the lower ski fix point?

      Hey,
      sorry for the delayed response!
The lower fixing point of the AVABAG is in a seperate small bag on the back. You can see some short shots in this video from minute 8:10. With that your skis can be put the backpack quite easy and fast. On the other hand it ist stowed away quickly.
      Best regards
      Your ORTOVOX Team

The backpack is good, but the reliability of fixing the snowboard/splitboard is questionable. There is a risk that the edge will cut the latch, BD thought about this point better, but again did not think through the constantly opening lock on the safety bag...
It would also be nice to make a pocket for a safety belt and replace the fasteners with iron ones, they crack in the cold.

have you used the bag in the field? I have one and I don't think this is really something to worry about. Even my burton bag (or any other snowboard pack) will have simialr straps. If you don't like it you can always take the splitboard apart and use a diagonal ski carry
