best amp ever....thats gotta be the very most best clean channel ive ever heard...and then channel 2 basically becomes a Vox...perfect! the one ive been waiting for my whole life..
I just came here for JJN. Saw this guy 1st Sept 2018 at the Muni Arts Centre Pontypridd. What a musician and what an absolute gentleman. After the gig he jumped off stage and mingled and chatted with the crowd doing signings and selfies for free. Oh, yeah, I have Blackstar HT Stage 100 :) The amps are good too.
Michelle Taylor yes I agree I plan on making payments plan with Sweetwater. For the 15 watt version. I got a Les Paul n this amp all I need for bedroom volume. Maybe a boost pedal might help
I’m playing the 10 watt KT88 right now and I’m dumbfounded how the clarity is blowing away my fender amp twice the price. I think this would be a definite upgrade
That Shure KSM mic is worth more than that amp. Would of been nice to hear it through just the sm57. As most people buying a $800 amp are going use something like that vs a $1,300 mic lol
You're right, for overdriven tones there's no way one can get those sounds without the help of a ribbon mic (unless he finds some magical multi-dynamic mic postions and is an EQ guru). When I hear overdriven guitar tones that I like and I do the research - most of the times the engineers slap a ribbon mic (usually a Royer 121) on there. That's why I was looking if someone knows what's the red mic is cause I know SM57 can't sound like that on it's own. While the artist usually bitches in interviews "it's really easy to record, I just throw an SM57 and I'm awesome"...yeah right :D Zakk Wylde shows the mics in his studio th-cam.com/video/c1q4i3BYpZc/w-d-xo.html at 7:04. SM57 is the "treble" in mix, they usually add it a little bit, like pepper/salt, to cut through the mix and solos. The guitar body, bass and natural "room" sound is done by ribbon mic, thanks to the natural highs roll off and the figure 8 capture pattern which lets enough room reflections as a bit of a reverb which smoothes the harshness even more (instead of swimming in delays and reverbs in the mix like Steve Vai).
His guitar is a P90 which is a massive single coil and will have noise and 60 cycle hum, I use this amp with single coil, P90 and Humbuckers and the Humbuckers with the amp is quiet where's the single coils P90 are noisey.
I also have this amp. P90s/single coils are pretty crusty, Hbs not. a bit more noisy than my 4x12/120 watt head but not “more” than any other amp in this range when you get the volume up. at noon this thing is loud.
Bought mine this week. Grab and go amp, no compromise in tone!

Did you buy it?
@@tims001 i never came around to buy it, but back then a friend of mine had it and i played on it all the time, loved it..
I bought a used one myself. I got a pretty great deal!
This guy seems to cool. Nice playing too
Such an fantastic amp. Makes me wanna play everytime I see it. And a perfect demonstration from one of the most talented blues rockers today!

dude is wildly charismatic, way more so than every other youtube guitar reviewer or teacher
Outstanding guitarist, Outstanding amp!

Jared could plug into a crate 1x8 and make it sound like gold.
LOL
Great amp, great demo and an amazing guitarist!!
Bonjour, j'hésite entre le Blackstar Artist 15 et un Orange Rocker 15 pour utiliser mon pedalboard.
Quelle serait votre préférence ?
Yeah, would just like to hear the amp, instead of mics and pedals, what does the real amp sound like ??
5:06 to 5:11 WOW what a lick!!

Some serious hum in the later minutes on the dirty channels
Congrats, you just discovered single coils.
@@luise8701 lol
Loud enough for gigging?
I like delay does it have delay effect on it or do you have to have a pedal to bypass the amplifier.
Monster player
cool guitar.
I guess it’s not just mine that’s noisy. Good sounding amp though. Super versatile.
1:16 why is there so much noise in the background, even if played clean?
9aus p90
awesome........
what's the overdrive pedal in 2:40 ???
Nikos K. Looks like a Greer lightspeed. Probably the best drive pedal I’ve ever played.
Literally thought it was Johnny DeMarco for 10 seconds.
He looks like his name should be Zeno Garibaldi Sukimatixovanski

haha I dont get yourt point...
They used a very good mic just for record the tone of the amp...:D We hear clearly how it sound and how it articulate.

I'm hearing a lot of background noise.
Sounds like the overdrive pedal. That or it could just be cranked.

Dirty channel seems thin
Schweeeeet guitarist
I'm impressed with playing but not the tones he's getting. I'd rather here this amp cranked instead of overdrive pedals.
