Knowing that you are still making more of the retro reports is one of the few things that keep me from giving up on the world. you are doing the lord's work haha I'm not sure if this is the best place to make a joke like that but truly thank you from the bottom of my heart and please continue
Yup a real "hero". Stole and distributed classified document during war time after being given a position of trust. His efforts did nothing to end the war.
It is a delicate balancing act to preserve national security while respecting freedom of the press. Both can be easily abused so the government must always be careful.
Just because I disagree with various administration tactics depending on the situations, doesn't mean I'm thankful for the mainstream legacy press or idolize them in any way. They have proven that they are part of the problem themselves, time and time again.
Some of the images of Nixon are misleading. The Oval Office and the private study off of the Oval Office aren't in the mansion in the centre of the complex. Yes, the image of the mansion is easily identifiable to many people, but gives them a distorted picture of where everything is. Secondly many of the recordings you use weren't made in the Oval Office but in Nixon's other office he maintained in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
The times should have stayed the hell out of it! Our country was right in the middle of pulling troops out! Trying to save face as much as possible. Getting the North Vietnam to play right. Which they sucked at and devious as all hell. The can make things alot more difficult. Which plays in the enemies hands. Which is considered espionage!
these retro reports are always really, really fascinating. thank you for making them
I'm so glad Daniel Ellesburg is still around & still a political voice. He's 90 years old! A great man.
Was he deep throat?
Or was that the Grand juror that Woodward and Bernstein talked to illegally?
@@benhenderson2885 no, deep throat is on the watergate.
Also deep throat is An FBI agent named Mark Felt

A Communist who hated Nixon and America

Thank you! We have a lot of cool projects of different lengths -- some mini docs and some feature docs -- coming up, so definitely stay tuned.
Ayo, why does the reply have more likes than the original comment? Lol.
RIP Daniel Ellsberg. 😢 You were a real hero to the American people and to the world.

Great video
Thanks so much -- we appreciate it!
If this happened today the Supreme Court would have backed Nixon. 😭
No doubt. As would have Republicans in congress
@@georgenelson8284 I totally agree with the utmost vigor
IMHO the 1971 ruling was wrong. At some point even the government has a right to keep secrets in wartime, particulalrly if these secrets are stolen.
I'm iffy about agreeing. The SCOTUS is normally always unanimous on decisions. It's obviously the spicy subjects that get the most attention.
water gate...lol... that was a distraction .....for the leaks
