Overnight camp, no sleeping bag - tarp shelter - steak on sticks

I go out to experiment with a blanket-based sleep system and a hatchet I found in the basement. Spoiler alert: I needed more layers, or maybe heavier thermals. I'll have to experiment further next winter, as spring is here and the weather is already warming up.
Please excuse the little hiccup at the ten-second mark; it kept popping up during the render and I couldn't get it to go away for whatever reason.

Just an observation. I found it kind of interesting that you bedded out on a layer of leaves. The prime home of ticks. Unless of coarse you are sprayed down in permethrin. Had a friend do the same thing and ended up with Lime disease. Be careful out there.

Hello Stephen, and thank you for your concern. I am intimately familiar with ticks; had a nasty case of RMSF when I was a young lad. The ticks haven't come out yet in my area (and whenever they do it'll be too soon), but I am always sure to spray down and make thorough checks for hitchhikers. When it gets real buggy outside, you'll see me switch to an enclosed tent, as I don't fancy getting goodnight kisses from spiders. Thank you for watching, and stay bug-free.

Warm enough to survive? Yes. Warm enough to do it again the same way? No. When we get back to winter I'll try it again, but with heavy thermals instead of silk weight. I hope you enjoyed watching!
